And I hand some of ...The birther issue IS divisive. And I hand some of the blowback of it to President Obama. In fact, other presidents -- and presidential contenders such as McCain -- did need to establish their birth creds so I don't see the racist angle of that argument as going far. <br /><br />But as to the President's share of the blame in this, he could have and should have put this matter to rest long ago by producing a certified, long form copy of his birth certificate. I believe part of his delay was arrogance and part of it was for political gain. <br /><br />And it still continues to the extent that he will not release records such as school transcripts, etc. that every president and presidential contender has done in the last decades. There's a reason for it. Be it stubborness or arrogance or embarassment or what have you is beyond my knowledge. But still, there it is.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
