The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

"Anything is possible if you have faith."

- Mark 9:23

The powerful Cardinal positions of the planets relative to the Earth continued their powerful inclinations in the month of August, affecting tens of millions of people worldwide.

From great floods in Pakistan, India and China to a series of violence and tragic events throughout the world, it is difficult for many to understand what has been happening.

These are the inclinations of the planets relative to Earth, and their motions continues to show how our world is undergoing yet another major transition by passage of global transits, or, what we also call time.

In this edition of Global Astrology, we examine present trends, and we look to the future implications of the some of the most pressing questions in these times as we enter the second decade of the 21st century.

 The Cardinal Crisis
Accidents, Floods, Unfavorable Travel & Violence

World transits continue inclinations which have led to accidents from dangerous and unfavorable travel, weather extremes, and outbreaks of senseless violence fueled by anger, ignorance, haste and impulse.

August is the sixth month of the year in the mundane calendar. The world is now entering the second half of the astrological year of 2010.

I have been forecasting on the increased delays and dangers of travel on road, by air, and over water.

We have witnessed the climate impacts on populations, as well as the unfavorable inclinations which have led to events affecting millions of people through weather, accidents, and senseless violence.

Here are the most recent events to take place under the cardinal world transits:

Mundane Health Forecast:
Whooping Cough Outbreak Ahead: 2010-2013
Prepare For Public Illnesses Due To World Transits

By Theodore White, mundane Astrolog.S
Global Astrology

I've reviewed the transits of 2010-2012 for the northern hemisphere. From the transits I've interpreted it is my assessment the upcoming winter 2011 season will be wetter and colder than normal.

Illness will run high this winter. Given the climate conditions worldwide, along with the heavy rains, and floods, transits surely point to a rise in public health warnings ahead.

My mundane calculations advise people to take precaution against the flu; especially over the months of late February, March and April 2011.

My transit readings show me that generalized infections of the respiratory system will be the main problem during the winter season. It will be a rough winter for sickness among populations. It is wise to take precautions at home, and in public.

I advise parents to be on the lookout for Pertussis, or Whooping Cough, among children as an outbreak is forecasted for the autumn and winter seasons from the Pacific Northwest to the Upper Midwestern regions of the U.S.

In the first half of 2010 for example, state health officials in California confirmed that there were 3,076 cases pertussis in August. This is a rate that is seven times higher than in 2009. So far, eight infants have died.

We can expect whooping cough cases to spread and expand in the United States through to 2012-2013, according to my calculations. Look for it in the news headlines.

Whooping cough is highly contagious. It is deadly for infants, toddlers, young children, senior citizens and for those with compromised immune systems.

A preschool-age child with Pertussis (whooping cough.)

It can be passed on by adults to children. Pertussis is highly communicable; can last for weeks and in children can cause spasms with bouts of severe coughing, or a "whooping," sound that signifies what is basically a phlegmatic disease.

This phlegmatic disease stresses the respiratory system. Mundane astrologers have noted the incubation periods of pertussis generally follows the phases of the Moon - from seven to 10 days.

The first signs of pertussis, or whooping cough, is a runny nose, sneezing, accompanied by a low-grade fever. The initial coughs are similar to what you'd expect with signs of a common cold coming on.

However, pertussis is usually not diagnosed until after the cough gradually becomes severe.

Children and the elderly can experience difficulty breathing. The uncontrolled bouts of coughing have a familiar high-pitched "whooping" sound as the patient tries to breath.

Photograph of a child afflicted with whooping cough paroxysms. Coughing with the characteristic ‘whoop’ sound.

Symptoms get worse as the Moon advances, for about two weeks, but can persist for several weeks before subsiding.

Whooping cough can be treated with antibiotics, but the common problem other than the persistent coughing, vomiting, and trouble breathing is being struck with a secondary bacterial infection. This is the cause of most deaths from pertussis.

Look for vaccination programs offered by public health officials in your region, and be keen to make sure your family is protected by taking preventative measures.

The transits of fall 2010 and winter 2011 strongly highlight health matters, and illness. For most regions, the autumn 2010 ingress will be ruled by Mercury. The winter solstice ingress will be ruled by Saturn.

Be prepared by strengthening the immune system with proper diets, common sense and above all - hygiene. Pay close attention to impending signs of illnesses breaking out this fall and winter.

I am forecasting that a major Pertussis, or Whooping Cough outbreak will expand mainly through the Pacific Northwest and upper Midwestern regions of the U.S. between 2010 through to 2013.

Caution is strongly urged for parents to protect their children and public health officials are advised to prepare for a major outbreak of Whooping Cough.

~

In my previous forecasts on the return of La Nina during the second half of 2010 and into the first half of 2011, I expect the fall season to be also be foggier than normal, with sometimes dense and pervasive fogs in October, November and December throughout the northern hemisphere.

My warning for a colder-than-normal winter season for the Pacific west and northwest of the U.S. remains the same. Prepare for colder than normal temperatures not seen for years in this region.

The major theme of Winter 2011 will be bone-chilling cold air temperatures with wetter than normal conditions along with snow, and ice storms striking parts of the Pacific northwest.

The storms will continue through the 39th parallel and into Alberta, Canada, through upper parts of the Great Lakes, and into the northeastern United States and Canada this year. The Upper Plains states will experience wetter than normal winter conditions.

Expect the prime winter season to arrive later than normal this year for two-thirds of the U.S., and Europe, mainly taking place from February through April 2011.

The air is thick with dense fogs prior to the onset of winter. Jet stream fluctuations from the cooling of the Pacific Ocean and the onset of La Nina shows problems with the air, with climate conditions that are wetter and much colder than normal.

Return of La Nina: Colder sea temperatures in the equatorial Pacific Ocean

Winter 2011 is not a "dry cold," but a "wet cold winter," which can be among the worst kind of winter seasons in the northern hemisphere.

My astrometeorological assessment of astronomical transits shows Winter 2011 will be a Phlegmatic Winter.

The transits and the influences on the climate will mainly affect the respiratory system.

Astrologers will want to run sunrise cycle charts from February through early April. Note planetary positions rising in the late February, through March in tropical Pisces, signifying the health, but also the weather.

The shape of the cycle charts will be that of a train with planets rising in Aquarius and Pisces, ending with Jupiter's square to Pluto in tropical Capricorn.

The winter weather will be windy, wet, colder than normal, and damp. It features trouble breathing for those who fall ill to respiratory diseases.

Juno is retrograde in Virgo signifies the public health. This features nurses, medical professionals and public health officials who are sometimes overwhelmed with patients who are sick and require medical attention.

This continues as the Moon and Mars conjoin with Uranus, the Black Moon (Lilith) and the fixed star Scheat at 29-Pisces on April 2, 2011.

Chiron and Ceres are also conjoined in early Pisces with Venus within orb by the end of March 2011. This signifies many children will continue to recover at home during spring break next March and April.

It appears, from what I can see , some regions throughout the northern hemisphere may be forced to close schools because of these outbreaks due to transits and climate.

From the looks of these transits, the "spring break" of March/April 2011 looks more like "sick and recovering at home break."

These illnesses are generally based on a lack of proper diet and inattention to hygiene, especially in schools, and in public where contagion is more easily passed on among people.

The economic crisis and the heavy rains in regions has most likely led to many millions of people under the weather by the time winter has taken hold in the northern hemisphere.

The climate I forecasted is colder than normal, but the moist climate conditions spurred by Saturn's transit in Libra will give way to wide outbreaks of flu and related diseases, according to my calculations.

Under these particular astrological conditions, the illnesses can tend to be deadly should proper preparations not take place.

Helpful Astrological Hints:
  • Drink Cherry Juice During The Winter
  • Eat More Beans & Rice
  • Reduce soda drinking during winter
  • Note Signs of Colds Earlier Than Normal
  • Build strong immune system with Cod liver oil, and Colloidal Silver
  • Wash Hands More frequently
  • Look For Public Service Announcements of Vaccinations
  • Use Mentholated Cough Drops When In Public
  • Wear winter gloves when touching public surfaces
  • Protect Feet This Autumn & Winter.
  • Avoid using public bathrooms during autumn & winter
  • Monitor signs of spreading sickness among Schoolchildren; especially whopping cough
  • Watch for rises of mononucleosis
When a person is sick it is important to get professional medical attention as soon as possible. In addition to home remedies for the recovery of a sick child or adult I also recommend using color to help improve rates of recovery.

The color Orange is known to impart heat and helps to cure people suffering from colds and phlegmatic illnesses.

The color Green is cold by temperament, and helps to fortify the muscles and keeps the brain cool and strong. It helps in removing rheumatic and related disorders.

Blue or indigo is cool to the senses and can eliminate diseases that come from excessive bile in the body, and related illnesses.

The use of colors in recovery, along with proper medical attention, and healthy diets can go a long way in helping those sick to recover back to wellness.

However, prevention is the best cure.

Now, the reason for all this is because of the transits I've seen over the coming winter months. March and April 2011 is particularly acute with many people feeling under the weather, and sick from the spread of flu.

This flu appears to be of the type featuring full head & body aches, in a phlegmatic respiratory state also featuring a persistent cough.

By early March 2011 there are also cases of people with these symptoms, some with running diarrhea and lack of appetite.

The climate is the prime cause - it will be colder and wetter than normal.

At this time, there are lots of mothers taking care of children and spouses who seem to be having a hard time shaking off the flu during this coming winter. The problems can be headed off at the pass if one is busy with preventive actions in early fall.

It is best to accomplish most of this before October 7, 2010, by setting up a prevention plan, and notifying friends, neighbors and family to be on the lookout for sick people, especially for signs and cases of Whopping Cough, and any kind of respiratory problems.

One of the keys other than building up immune systems during the late summer into early autumn is to protect your feet and head in the weather and to wash hands.

Also adjust family diets as quickly as possible. Steer clear from pork, heavy meats, and reduce consumption of fast foods meals, and soda.

Focus on eating healthier foods in smaller sizes during the day. Also add cod liver oil and colloidal silver to your family's diet for full protection before the outbreaks of fall and winter.

Expect a busy winter season taking care of those who do become sick. Again, prevention is the best medicine of all.

The societal effects of the Bank Crisis, and credit crunch that continues worldwide will surely bring about more change than many populations have been prepared for, in fact, most people still are not handling the changes very well.

My analysis of the coming months of September 2010 through March 2011 indicates that this is a dark, and brooding six months that continues the theme of depression.

Here, we explore the nature of relationships as spikes in marriages and divorces are forecasted ahead.

This is part of my mundane review of how the world's psychology over the next ten years shifts because of the strong inclinations of the planets, most notably that of Saturn.

The Cardinal Crisis
Are Personal Relationships At Risk?
Saturn's Transit in Libra & Scorpio

Global Astrology

Since the onset of the Cardinal Crisis world transits the world has been experiencing signs of significant societal transformations underway.

One certain sign of this has been the entry of Saturn into tropical Libra. This shift has ended the last 15 years where Saturn transited the signs between Aries and Libra.

Saturn will now transit the tropical signs from Libra to Aries over the next 15 years.

This takes us from 2010 to about the year 2025 more or less. So we will explore the significance of Saturn's transit of Libra and Scorpio - highlighting the Seventh and Eighth Mundane houses.

In mundane astrology, the Seventh House of Libra generally has rulership over International affairs, laws, justice, agreements between nations, trade, questions of peace and war, conflict resolution, and the marriage and divorce rates of nations.

The Eighth House of Scorpio holds general rulership over Personal relationships within marriages and divorces, suicides, family finances, pension systems, public taxes, along with the general mortality rate, international agreements, privy councils, and economic relations with foreign nations.

Saturn has chief influence over the elderly, while also governing the death rate among nations along with Jupiter and Uranus.

Saturn's inclinations can lead to epidemics and has influence over grains, farms, the produce of the Earth. Also, over coal and mines and in the sectors of metals and minerals.

Saturn also has function over state marriages or funerals where public expressions of either happiness or sorrow is exhibited nationally.

The area of relationships is strongly inclined with Saturn in Libra. From this vantage point, the astrologer is able to see how functional, or dysfunctional relationships in society will be over the years.

It is my assessment after detailed review of global transits that the dysfunctional behavior of people, especially those in the financial and economics sector, is now spreading out into society at large.

It has been coming for some time. There were voices back in the early days of the feminist movement of the early 1970s who warned families would also suffer dysfunction which, in the end, would lead to the collapse of the family unit.

This is now happening with the rise of divorces under the Baby Boomer generation, and the failure of today's women to find men who say they have been scared away from commitment and marriage.

Libra highlights personal relationships, and marriages. As Saturn is now in tropical Libra through October 2012, I expect divorces to rise; especially in western nations.

Consider this recent report:

After a recession-related flat period, divorces are on the rise now that some can afford to split up. Others are calling it quits because, for them, the recession is the "new normal."

August 16, 2010 -- As the recession seems to be loosening its grip, so apparently are married couples who had put their divorces on hold.

Divorce rates have declined in Minnesota and nationwide over the past few years, primarily because people couldn't afford to separate.

But experts are seeing the numbers go up -- one Twin Cities divorce attorney is "swamped" -- as the economy struggles to recover.

Others whose financial situations haven't improved are also deciding to split up because they at least want emotional happiness.

Marlene Eskind Moses, president of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), said it's too soon for collective national numbers, but she is hearing from members seeing an increase because the current economy is "the new normal."

"With the recession, there was initial shock that paralyzed people. They were frozen, not wanting to make any more significant changes in their lives.

They weren't any happier than before, but too afraid to do anything about it. Now people are stabilizing, acclimating themselves to the new economic realities, and saying, 'Things may not change soon, but at least I can have a happy life on an emotional level.'"

Area divorce attorneys who have seen an uptick after a slack period include Michael Dittberner, who practices in Edina.

"People are either now able to move forward or just can't put it off any longer," he said, "They have issues related to their children or are trying to protect themselves financially."

Andrea Niemi, a Minneapolis attorney whose focus is on alternative dispute resolution, has seen a spike in early neutral evaluations, which are requested within about two months of a couple's divorce filing.

"I was twiddling my thumbs a year ago and now I'm swamped," she said.

The state's most populous county saw a noteworthy increase in the first four months of 2010.

Sadly, the rise in divorces reflect a sickness that has affected the lives of males and females over the last 30 years.

In an effort to "liberate" women from the shackles of family security, it appears the Baby Boomer generation forgot that what goes around, comes around.

Saturn's transit in Libra, and then, into Scorpio, from 2010 to 2015, is not a great time to be single, nor is it a time, especially for women to reject long-term relationships based merely on personal issues related more to the woman's conundrum than on what marriage is really about.

To understand how Saturn will function in Libra and Scorpio during the 2010s, let's look to the past, during the philosophical heydays of the Feminist Movement in the United States.

This series of quotes will show just how dysfunctional society has become over 30 years later in the midst of a global economic depression.

Saturn is about to crystallize relationships in a time of severe economic hardships. It has been written that this great recession is really a "man-cession" in the sense that the highest numbers of unemployed are males.

This does not bode well for women who are looking for men to have relationships.

Not only is competition for quality males fierce, but the fact that many men are underemployed or without work altogether is not positive for women and families in the least.

The divorce rate has skyrocketed among the Baby Boomer generation. More than half of all marriages end up in divorce. It is triple that of their parents' generation.

Is nothing sacred? Cardinal Crisis. Heavy Rains. Floods. Accidents. The Bad Economy. A Very Cold Winter.

And now significant personal relationships?

Nature Doesn't Give Out Rain Checks

Commentary By Henry Makow, Ph.D.

What better example of stupid, self-defeating behavior than this advice from a veteran feminist?

In an article entitled "Marry Him" (Atlantic Monthly, March 2008)  Lori Gottlieb advises her sisters to "settle"--marry anything  in sight...and fast.

This kind of abject surrender, while satisfying in an "I told you so" way, is also sad.

Millions of women who outsourced their common sense and trusted the media, their teachers, their leaders and their society are now high-and-dry.

They were told they could have it all, but most can't.

There are three times as many single women in their 30's now than there were in the 1970's.

By the time these women have established their careers, many are too thread bare and hard bitten to marry, and the good men are all gone.

They are the victims of the most evil, most successful, social engineering program in history. It was designed to give women career instead of family. But until feminists acknowledge that they are victims of a cruel hoax, they won't be able to salvage whatever is left.

I'll elaborate later but first Ill give you a taste of the wisdom of a woman who says how she defines the word "pathetic."

MS The BOAT?

Ms. Gottlieb begins by describing a picnic where she and a friend (both mothers of sperm donor babies) are not feeling 'satisfied.'

They miss not having husbands. No doubt the children will miss not having fathers.

"Ask any soul-baring 40-year-old single heterosexual woman what she longs for in life...what she really wants is a husband..." Gottlieb confesses.

While she and her friends "still call ourselves feminists and insist we're independent and self sufficient ... every woman I know - no matter how successful and ambitious, how financially and emotionally secure, feels panic ... if she hits 30 and find herself unmarried."

Forget about true love, his annoying habits, his halitosis or abysmal sense of aesthetics.

Marriage, she has discovered, is about having a teammate, even if he's not the love of your life. She even recommends gays as possible mates.

How did she end up like this?

Too much "education" I imagine. Too much feminist empowerment and Hollywood-fueled expectations of romance and men.

Earlier in life, she dumped someone because, although they had "strong physical chemistry" and their sensibilities were similar, they proved to be "a half-note off, so we never quite felt in harmony, or never viewed the world through quite the same lens."

Apparently, she was looking for a clone.

"Now, though, I realize that if I don't want to be alone for the rest of my life, I'm at the age where I'll likely need to settle for someone who is settling for me.

"We lose sight of our mortality. We forget that we, too, will age and become less alluring. ...Which is all the more reason to settle before settling is no longer an option."

Take the date I went on last night.

The guy was substantially older. He had a long history of major depression and said, in reference to the movies he was writing, "I'm fascinated by comas" and "I have a strong interest in terrorists."

He'd never been married. He was rude to the waiter. But he very much wanted a family, and he was successful, handsome, and smart.

As I looked at him from across the table, I thought, Yeah, I'll see him again. Maybe I can settle for that.

But my very next thought was, maybe I can settle for better.

It's like musical chairs - when do you take a seat, any seat, just so you're not left standing alone?"

"But then my married friends say things like, 'Oh, you're so lucky, you don't have to negotiate with your husband about the cost of piano lessons' or 'You're so lucky, you don't have anyone putting the kid in front of the TV and you can raise your son the way you want.'

I'll even hear things like, 'You're so lucky, you don't have to have sex with someone you don't want to.'

"The lists go on, and each time, I say, 'OK, if you're so unhappy, and if I'm so lucky, leave your husband! In fact, send him over here!'

"Not one person has taken me up on this offer."

Did I say Pathetic?

My advice to single women in their 30's-40's is - Do Not Panic. Do not 'Settle.' You are far better off alone than with a misfit.

Also, whatever you do, do not have a child out-of-wedlock or from a sperm bank. That diminishes your chances of marriage big-time.

Gottlieb is desperate to 'settle' mainly because she has an infant on her hands.

The key thing to realize is that feminism was not spontaneous grass roots social change as portrayed.

It was social engineering designed to phase out gender, marriage and the nuclear family. There are half as many nuclear families now than there were in the 1960's.

The destruction of the family is part of a larger agenda to destabilize and depopulate society in advance of a thinly veiled totalitarian world government.

Sexual liberation is part of this agenda. Men see no reason to marry now that unfettered sex is so plentiful.

I advise women to consecrate sex for long-term loving relationships and end them in 6-8 months if marriage is not imminent. Don't waste time on window shoppers.

Feminists have been neutered by adopting the male role model and eschewing the feminine one. They need to rediscover their natural feminine instincts.

This involves finding a man they can believe in, and nurture, and not settling for less.

True love stems from the sacrifice that women make for the person they love.

Let him lead and keep quiet about all his faults. But don't let him take you for granted and dump him if he doesn't love you back (i.e look after your interests and needs.)

Generally speaking, the people behind elite social engineering are satanists in the sense they want to override God (Truth) and Nature. They deliberately do evil against humanity.

Women were designed to marry and have children in their late teens and early twenties. That's when they are irresistible to young men. They should marry men who have graduated and are starting their careers.

Raising children is not an afterthought. It is what married people do together, what they have in common.

It's natural growth, both  biological and in terms of our personal development and fulfillment.

Nature doesn't give rain checks, as millions of women are discovering - the hard way.

The social stresses from the economic collapse will play a strong role in determining the strength of personal relationships over the next ten years.

Saturn's waning square to Pluto between the years 2010 to 2020 will feature a deep series of changes, challenges, and recriminations based on the corrupted, and highly-leveraged collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) which were packaged with literally tens of millions of mortgages that have since collapsed.

The effect on people, on society, on business in general is bound to be more than challenging unless new, positive, and creative means are applied along a broad spectrum along with practicality and common sense, to recover from the heady "bubble" years that started the mess to begin.

One of the sectors I have followed for many years is that of pensions.

It is my assessment, knowing the economic world transits, that many pension plans worldwide are on the verge of collapse.

 click graphic to enlarge

This has occurred mainly because of very poor decisions by pension managers to play the stock market, and, of course, the major gaps are losses that came about in the wake of the real estate crash.

It not a wonder that this is so. Consider that some economists have estimated the Baby Boomer generation has lost somewhere near to $2.8 trillion in wealth in the economic crash as of August 2010.

This means two-thirds of all Boomers will now enter their senior years with little to no savings for retirement.

The promised pension benefits for public sector workers is like the economic Sword of Damocles hanging over many states and cities.

The Cardinal Crisis
Are Pensions Next To Collapse?

By EconomicCollapseBlog

22 Stats About America's Coming Pension Crisis That Will Make You Lose Sleep At Night

As the first of the 80 million Baby Boomers have begun to retire, it has become increasingly apparent that the United States is facing a pension crisis of unprecedented magnitude.

State and local government pension plans are woefully underfunded, dozens of large corporate pension plans either have collapsed or are on the verge of collapsing.

Social Security is a complete and total financial disaster and about half of all Americans essentially have nothing saved up for retirement.

So yes, to say that we are facing a retirement crisis would be a tremendous understatement.

There is simply no way that we can keep all of the financial promises that we have made to the Baby Boomer generation.

Unfortunately, the crumbling U.S. economy simply cannot support the comfortable retirement of tens of millions of elderly Americans any longer.

The truth is that we are all going to have to start fundamentally changing the way that we think about our golden years.

Once upon a time, you could count on getting a big, fat pension if you put 30 years into a job. But now pension plans everywhere are failing.

State and local governments are cutting back and are raising retirement ages. A majority of Americans have even lost faith in the Social Security system, which was supposed to be the most secure of them all.

The reality is that we are moving into a time when there is not going to be such a thing as "financial security" as we have known it in the past.

Things have fundamentally changed, and we are all going to have to struggle to stay above water in the economic nightmare that is coming.

Part of the reason we have such a gigantic economic mess on the way is because we have promised vastly more than we can deliver to future retirees.

When you closely examine the numbers, it quickly becomes clear that a financial tsunami is about to hit us that is going to be so devastating that it will change everything that we know about retirement.

The following are 22 statistics about America's coming pension crisis that will make you lose sleep at night....

Private Pension Plans And Retirement Funds

1 - One recent study found that America's 100 largest corporate pension plans were underfunded by $217 billion at the end of 2008.

2 - Approximately half of all workers in the United States have less than $2000 saved up for retirement.

3 - According to one recent survey, 36 percent of Americans say that they don't contribute anything at all to retirement savings.

4 - The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation says that the number of pensions at risk inside failing companies more than tripled during the recession.

5 - According to another recent survey, 24% of U.S. workers admit that they have postponed their planned retirement age at least once during the past year.

State & Local Government Pensions

6- Pension consultant Girard Miller recently told California's Little Hoover Commission that state and local government bodies in the state of California have $325 billion in combined unfunded pension liabilities.

When you break that down, it comes to $22,000 for every single working adult in California.

7 - According to a recent report from Stanford University, California's three biggest pension funds are as much as $500 billion short of meeting future retiree benefit obligations.

8 - In New Jersey, the governor has proposed not making the state's entire $3 billion contribution to its pension funds because of the state's $11 billion budget deficit.

9 - It has been reported that the $33.7 billion Illinois Teachers Retirement System is 61% underfunded and is on the verge of total collapse.

10 - The state of Illinois recently raised its retirement age to 67 and capped the salary on which public pensions are figured.

11 - The state of Virginia is requiring employees to pay into the state pension fund for the first time ever.

12 - In New York City, annual pension contributions have increased sixfold in the past decade alone and are now so large that they would be able to finance entire new police and fire departments.

13- Robert Novy-Marx of the University of Chicago and Joshua D. Rauh of Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management recently calculated the combined pension liability for all 50 U.S. states.

What they found was that the 50 states are collectively facing $5.17 trillion in pension obligations, but they only have $1.94 trillion set aside in state pension funds.  That is a difference of 3.2 trillion dollars.

Social Security

14 - According to one recently conducted poll, 6 out of every 10 non-retirees in the United States believe that the Social Security system will not be able to pay them benefits when they stop working.

15 - A very large percentage of the federal budget is made up of entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare that cannot be reduced without a change in the law.

Approximately 57 percent of President Barack Obama's 3.8 trillion dollar budget for 2011 consists of direct payments to individual Americans or is money that is spent on their behalf.

16 - 35% of Americans over the age of 65 rely almost entirely on Social Security payments alone.

17 - According to the Congressional Budget Office, the Social Security system will pay out more in benefits than it receives in payroll taxes in 2010. That was not supposed to happen until at least 2016. The Social Security deficits are projected to get increasingly worse in the years ahead.

18 - 56 percent of current retirees believe that the U.S. government will eventually cut their Social Security benefits.

19 - In 1950, each retiree's Social Security benefit was paid for by 16 U.S. workers. In 2010, each retiree's Social Security benefit is paid for by approximately 3.3 U.S. workers.

By 2025, it is projected that there will be approximately two U.S. workers for each retiree.

20 - The shortfall in entitlement programs in the years ahead is mind blowing. The present value of projected scheduled benefits surpasses earmarked revenues for entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare by about 46 trillion dollars over the next 75 years.

21 - According to a recent U.S. government report, soaring interest costs on the U.S. national debt plus rapidly escalating spending on entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare will absorb approximately 92 cents of every single dollar of federal revenue by the year 2019.

That is before a single dollar is spent on anything else.

22 - Right now, interest on the U.S. national debt and spending on entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare is somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 percent of GDP.

By 2080, those combined expenditures are projected to eat up approximately 50 percent of GDP.

The Cardinal Crisis
Is Germany's Deutsche Bank Destroying American Communities With Foreclosures?

How The U.S. Became A PR Disaster For Deutsche Bank

By Christoph Pauly & Thomas Schulz
Der Spiegel

Deutsche Bank is deeply involved in the American real estate crisis.

After initially profiting from subprime mortgages, it is now arranging to have many of these homes sold at foreclosure auctions.

The damage to the bank's image in the United States is growing.

The small city of New Haven, on the Atlantic coast and home to elite Yale University, is only two hours northeast of New York City.

It is a particularly beautiful place in the fall, during the warm days of Indian summer.

But this idyllic image has turned cloudy of late, with a growing number of houses in New Haven looking like the one at 130 Peck Street: vacant for months, the doors nailed shut, the yard derelict and overgrown and the last residents ejected after having lost the house in a foreclosure auction.

And like 130 Peck Street, many of these homes are owned by Germany's Deutsche Bank.
"In the last few years, Deutsche Bank has been responsible for far and away the most foreclosures here," says Eva Heintzelman.

She is the director of the ROOF Project, which addresses the consequences of the foreclosure crisis in New Haven in collaboration with the city administration.

According to Heintzelman, Frankfurt-based Deutsche Bank plays such a significant role in New Haven that the city's mayor requested a meeting with bank officials last spring.

The bank complied with his request, to some degree, when, in April 2009, a Deutsche Bank executive flew to New Haven for a question-and-answer session with politicians and aid organizations.

But the executive, David Co, came from California, not from Germany.

Co manages the Frankfurt bank's US real estate business at a relatively unknown branch of a relatively unknown subsidiary in Santa Ana.

How many houses was he responsible for, Co was asked?

"Two thousand," he replied. But then he corrected himself, saying that 2,000 wasn't the number of individual properties, but the number of securities packages being managed by Deutsche Bank.

Each package contains hundreds of mortgages. So how many houses are there, all told, he was asked again? Co could only guess.

"Millions," he said.

Deutsche Bank Is Considered 'America's Foreclosure King'

Deutsche Bank's tracks lead through the entire American real estate market.

In Chicago, the bank foreclosed upon close to 600 large apartment buildings in 2009, more than any other bank in the city.

In Cleveland, almost 5,000 houses foreclosed upon by Deutsche Bank were reported to authorities between 2002 and 2006.

In many US cities, the complaints are beginning to pile up from homeowners who lost their properties as a result of a foreclosure action filed by Deutsche Bank.

The German bank is berated on the Internet as "America's Foreclosure King."

American homeowners are among the main casualties of the financial crisis that began with the collapse of the US real estate market.

For years, banks issued mortgages to home buyers without paying much attention to whether they could even afford the loans.

Then they packaged the mortgage loans into complicated financial products, earning billions in the process -- that is, until the bubble burst and the government had to bail out the banks.

Deutsche Bank has always acted as if it had had very little to do with the whole affair. It survived the crisis relatively unharmed and without government help.

Its experts recognized early on that things could not continue as they had been going. This prompted the bank to get out of many deals in time, so that in the end it was not faced with nearly as much toxic debt as other lenders.

But it is now becoming clear just how deeply involved the institution is in the US real estate market and in the subprime mortgage business.

It is quite possible that the bank will not suffer any significant financial losses, but the damage to its image is growing by the day.

'Deutsche Bank Is Now in the Process of Destroying Milwaukee'
Click on Graphic To Enlarge

According to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Deutsche Bank now holds loans for American single-family and multi-family houses worth about $3.7 billion (€3.1 billion).

The bank, however, claims that much of this debt consists of loans to wealthy private customers.

More damaging to its image are the roughly 1 million US properties that the bank says it is managing as trustee.

"Some 85 to 90 percent of all outstanding mortgages in the USA are ultimately controlled by four banks, either as trustees or owners of a trust company," says real estate expert Steve Dibert, whose company conducts nationwide investigations into cases of mortgage fraud.

"Deutsche Bank is one of the four" he says.

In addition, the bank put together more than 25 highly complex real estate securities deals, known as collateralized debt obligations, or CDOs, with a value of about $20 billion, most of which collapsed.

These securities were partly responsible for triggering the crisis.

In June 2010, Deutsche Bank CEO Josef Ackermann was publicly confronted with the turmoil in US cities.

Speaking at the bank's shareholders' meeting, political science professor Susan Giaimo said that while Germans were mainly responsible for building the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, "Deutsche Bank is now in the process of destroying Milwaukee."

As Soon as the Houses Are Vacant, They Quickly Become Derelict

Then Giaimo, a petite woman with dark curls who has German forefathers, got to the point.

Not a single bank, she said, owns more real estate affected by foreclosure in Milwaukee, a city the size of Frankfurt.

Many of the houses, she added, have been taken over by drug dealers, while others were burned down by arsonists after it became clear that no one was taking care of them.

Besides, said Giaimo, who represents the Common Ground action group, homeowners living in the neighborhoods of these properties are forced to accept substantial declines in the value of their property.

"In addition, foreclosed houses are sold to speculators for substantially less than the market value of houses in the same neighborhood," Giaimo said.

The speculators, according to Giaimo, have no interest in the individual properties and are merely betting that prices will go up in the future.

Common Ground has posted photos of many foreclosed properties on the Internet, and some of the signs in front of these houses identify Deutsche Bank as the owner.

As soon as the houses are vacant, they quickly become derelict.

A Victorian house on State Street, painted green with red trim, is now partially burned down. Because it can no longer be sold, Deutsche Bank has "donated" it to the City of Milwaukee, one of the Common Ground activists reports.

As a result, the city incurs the costs of demolition, which amount to "at least $25,000."

'We Can't Give Away Money that Isn't Ours'

During a recent meeting with US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, representatives of the City of Milwaukee complained about the problems that the more than 15,000 foreclosures have caused for the city since the crisis began.

In a letter to the US Treasury Department, they wrote that Deutsche Bank is the only bank that has refused to meet with the city's elected representatives.

Minneapolis-based US Bank and San Francisco-based Wells Fargo apparently took the complaints more seriously and met with the people from Common Ground.

The activists' demands sound plausible enough. They want Deutsche Bank to at least tear down those houses that can no longer be repaired at a reasonable cost.

Besides, Giaimo said at the shareholders' meeting, Deutsche Bank should contribute a portion of US government subsidies to a renovation fund.

According to Giaimo, the bank collected $6 billion from the US government when it used taxpayer money to bail out credit insurer AIG.

"It's painful to look at these houses," Ackermann told the professor.

According to real estate experts, 85 to 90 percent of all outstanding mortgages in the United States are ultimately controlled by four banks, either as trustees or owners of a trust company. Deutsche Bank is one of the four. Criticized publicly for his company's role in the foreclosures, Deutsche-Bank CEO Josef Ackermann is pictured here.

Nevertheless, the CEO refused to accept any responsibility.

Deutsche Bank, he said, is "merely a sort of depository for the mortgage documents, and our options to help out are limited."

According to Ackermann, the bank, as a trustee for other investors, is not even the actual owner of the properties, and therefore can do nothing.

Besides, Ackermann said, his bank didn't promote mortgage loans with terms that have now made the payments unaffordable for many families.

The activists from Wisconsin did, however, manage to take home a small victory. Ackermann instructed members of his staff to meet with Common Ground.

He apparently envisions a relatively informal and noncommittal meeting. "We can't give away money that isn't ours," he added.

Deutsche Bank's Role in the High-Risk Loans Boom

Apparently Ackermann also has no intention to part with even a small portion of the profits the bank earned in the real estate business.

Deutsche Bank didn't just act as a trustee that -- coincidentally, it seems -- manages countless pieces of real estate on behalf of other investors.

In the wild years between 2005 and 2007, the bank also played a central role in the profitable boom in high-risk mortgages that were marketed to people in ways that were downright negligent.

Of course, its bankers didn't get their hands dirty by going door-to-door to convince people to apply for mortgages they couldn't afford.

But they did provide the distribution organizations with the necessary capital.

The Countrywide Financial Corporation, which approved risky mortgages for $97.2 billion from 2005 to 2007, was the biggest provider of these mortgages in the United States.

According to the study by the Center for Public Integrity, a nonprofit investigative journalism organization, Deutsche Bank was one of Countrywide's biggest financiers.

Ameriquest -- which, with $80.7 billion in high-risk loans on its books in the three boom years before the crash, was the second-largest subprime specialist -- also had strong ties to Deutsche Bank.

The investment bankers placed the mortgages on the international capital market by bundling and structuring them into securities.

This enabled them to distribute the risks around the entire globe, some of which ended up with Germany's state-owned banks.

After the crisis erupted, there were so many mortgages in default in 25 CDOs that most of the investors could no longer be serviced.

Some CDOs went bankrupt right away, while others were gradually liquidated, either in full or in part. The securities that had been placed on the market were underwritten by loans worth $20 billion.

At the end of 2006, for example, Deutsche Bank constructed a particularly complex security known as a hybrid CDO.

It was named Barramundi, after the Indo-Pacific hermaphrodite fish that lives in muddy water.

And the composition of the deal, which was worth $800 million, was muddy indeed. Many securities that were already arcane enough, like credit default swaps (CDSs) and CDOs, were packaged into an even more complex entity in Barramundi.

Deutsche Bank's partner for the Barramundi deal was the New York investment firm C-BASS, which referred to itself as "a leader in purchasing and servicing residential mortgage loans primarily in the Sub-prime and Alt-A categories."

In plain language, C-BASS specialized in drumming up and marketing subprime mortgages for complex financial vehicles.

However, C-BASS didn't just manage abstract securities. It also had a subsidiary to bring in all the loans that were subsequently securitized.

By the end of 2005 the subsidiary, Litton Loan, had processed 313,938 loans, most of them low-value mortgages, for a total value of $43 billion.

One of the First Victims of the Financial Crisis

Barramundi was already the 19th CDO C-BASS had issued. But the investment firm faltered only a few months after the deal with Deutsche Bank, in the summer of 2007.

C-BASS was one of the first casualties of the financial crisis.

Deutsche Bank's CDO, Barramundi, suffered a similar fate.

Originally given the highest possible rating by the rating agencies, the financial vehicle stuffed with subprime mortgages quickly fell apart.

In the spring of 2008, Barramundi was first downgraded to "highly risky" and then, in December, to junk status. Finally, in March 2009, Barramundi failed and had to be liquidated.

While many investors lost their money and many Americans their houses, Deutsche Bank and Litton Loan remained largely unscathed.

Apparently, the Frankfurt bank still has a healthy business relationship with the subprime mortgage manager, because Deutsche Bank does not play a direct role in any of the countless pieces of real estate it holds in trust.

Other service providers, including Litton Loan, handle tasks like collecting mortgage payments and evicting delinquent borrowers.

The exotic financial vehicles are sometimes managed by an equally exotic firm: Deutsche Bank (Cayman) Limited, Boundary Hall, Cricket Square, Grand Cayman.

In an e-mail dated Feb. 26, 2010, a Deutsche Bank employee from the Cayman Islands lists 84 CDOs and similar products, for which she identifies herself as the relevant contact person.

Trouble with US Regulatory Authorities & Many Property Owners

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is now investigating Deutsche Bank and a few other investment banks that constructed similar CDOs.

The financial regulator is looking into whether investors in these obscure products were deceived.

The SEC has been particularly critical of US investment bank Goldman Sachs, which is apparently willing to pay a record fine of $1 billion to avoid criminal prosecution.

Deutsche Bank has also run into problems with the many property owners.

The bank did not issue the mortgages for the many properties it now manages, and yet it accepted, on behalf of investors, the fiduciary function for its own and third-party CDOs.

In past years, says mortgage expert Steve Dibert, real estate loans were "traded like baseball cards" in the United States.

Amid all the deal-making, the deeds for the actual properties were often lost.

In Cleveland and New Jersey, for example, judges invalidated foreclosures ordered by Deutsche Bank, because the bank was unable to come up with the relevant deeds.

Nevertheless, Deutsche Bank's service providers repeatedly try to have houses vacated, even when they are already occupied by new owners who are paying their mortgages.

This practice has led to nationwide lawsuits against the Frankfurt-based bank.

On the Internet, angry Americans fighting to keep their houses have taken to using foul language to berate the German bank.

"Deutsche Bank now has a real PR problem here in the United States," says Dibert.

"They want to bury their head in the sand, but this is something they are going to have to deal with."

The Cardinal T-Square Crisis - "Uh-Oh Time," Pain in Spain, Geopolitical Conflicts, Plus, Astrological Advice, Tips & Personal Guidance in Historic Times

Saying Enough is Enough: Americans hold daily demonstrations at JP Morgan Chase Bank headquarters in New York City. On May 20, the U.S. senate approved a sweeping financial reform bill to curb years of abuses in the mortgage industry. The bill also ensures that troubled corporations, no matter how big, or complex, can be liquidated at no cost to the public. The reform law also creates a 'financial stability oversight council' to coordinate efforts to identify risks to society's financial system and markets. Credit: Getty Images.

Astrological Guidance in Changing Times
By Theodore White; mundane Astrolog.S

It's been a wild decade for people around the world. Since the year 2001, the world has changed in many ways from the late 20th century.

Now, in 2010, the globe has reached a crossroads. We can see it, experience it, and know it, yet questions remain. What am I to do about my life and those of my family?

My goals? Objectives, my aspirations, hopes and wishes?

What now?

By asking these questions, and understanding the tone of the times, we may gain further insights into what are the possibilities to come, and how we are able to help shape that positive future.

Mundane Astrology can help provide insights into the potentials of the future, and I hope to be able to shed a little light through my mundane perspective.

World Transits

As many who read my forecasts and posts know, I am not very bullish on the near future, though I would much prefer to be.

I have not been for some time, and was one of the few people out there, such as trend forecaster, Gerald Celente; who also did not buy into the "feel good" boom times of the years 2003-2008.

He knew, as well as I did, that there were whole nests of rampant corruption and fraud throughout the global, and U.S. financial community.

It has only just started to become revealed, due mainly to the continued assault by financial manipulations on world markets, such as the May 6th "1,000-point" drop of the Dow Jones, which still has not been explained by authorities as of late May.

Now, here in 2010, with the entire world in economic crisis, the signs of the times trend negatively, and have since 2007 with the onset of the Bank Crisis, that is still ongoing.

My forecasts on the markets, and the state of the world economy have been clear: these are challenging times, and expect significant changes across the board in the lives of many people worldwide.

There are ways to handle the Cardinal transits of the next 4-5 years, but that requires new insights, some skill, and the ability to look forward, not with fear, nor haste, but with strength, goodness, and energy.

I provide some advice and general tips below on how to handle the Cardinal transits, as well as dates of near term & future global transits and their inclinations.

Current Events, News Items & Global Transits

In astrology, we match transits to correlating events in any area. Forecasts are observational and astronomically-based.

With mundane astrology, we do this on a larger scale, showing how configurations of the planets, particularly the outer planets, relative to their positions to one another and the Earth, show us trends past, ongoing, or, those to come in the future.

The average American, long held hostage by the causes of the Bank Crisis since 2007 is now inclined towards action, typical of the cardinal inclinations of the years just ahead, which begin this year of 2010.

Jupiter oppose Saturn - Exact on May 23, 2010, and reflects a two-and-a-half year cycle of business & career contractions generally. The last opposition between Jupiter and Saturn occurred in 1990-92.

Click here for an interactive map of the landmark bill.

This is the second phase of the opening salvo of the Cardinal Crisis transits. The first occurred back in late 2008 with the first Saturn-Uranus opposition.

The fourth, April 26, and the fifth, and last Saturn-Uranus opposition, is exact July 26, 2010 and is part of the Cardinal T-Square Cross Global Transits.

Geo Political Situation

I continue to forecast that there will be geopolitical and international conflicts under these cardinal inclinations of rash actions, haste, and impulse where major accidents can come about causing losses of life.

It is not wise to exercise military actions under such influences, yet policymakers and leaders will do just that, against the tide of common sense, and will be so inclined by the cardinal transits.

The situations in several regions globally are of immediate concern, such as the Middle East, and the Korean Peninsula, where, situations can get very much out of hand should common sense and diplomacy not intervene.

Asia Heating Up? South Korean soldiers aim their weapons near the demilitarized zone between South and North Korea, in Yanggu, north of Seoul, South Korea, 24 May 2010
 Credit/AP

"South Korea's president has held a nationwide address to announce stern measures against North Korea. South Korea and the United States say Pyongyang is responsible for sinking a South Korean navy ship.

President Lee Myung-bak on Monday said North Korean must pay for sinking one of South Korea's navy ships.

Mr. Lee says inter-Korean exchanges and trade are being halted. In addition, North Korean vessels will no longer be allowed to sail through South Korean waters.

Forty-six South Korean sailors died in March when an explosion ripped their patrol ship in half. A multinational team concluded a North Korean submarine fired a torpedo at it, a finding Pyongyang calls a "fabrication."

President Lee says the military will defend South Korea if the North encroaches on its territory. However, he emphasizes the South does not seek armed conflict.

President Lee says minimal humanitarian aid to the impoverished North will continue.

In Beijing, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton urged China to work with Washington in responding to the sinking of the South Korean ship."

Correlating News On The Economy -

Bloomberg - May 22, 2010

"College Grads Flood Labor Market With Diminished Options"

"Ten months after graduating from Ohio State University with a civil-engineering degree and three internships, Matt Grant finally has a job -- as a banquet waiter at a Clarion Inn near Akron, Ohio.

“It’s discouraging right now,” said the 24-year-old, who sent out more than 100 applications for engineering positions.

“It’s getting closer to the Class of 2010, their graduation date. I’m starting to worry more.”

Schools from Grant’s Alma mater to Harvard University will soon begin sending a wave of more than 1.6 million men and women with bachelor’s degrees into a labor market with a 9.9 percent jobless rate, according to the Education and Labor departments.

While the economy is improving, unemployment is near a 26-year high, rising last month from 9.7 percent in January-March as more Americans entered the workforce.

The scramble for jobs may depress earnings of new and recent college graduates for years to come and handicap their future career opportunities, according to Lisa Kahn, an assistant professor of economics at Yale University’s School of Management in New Haven, Connecticut.

It also might hurt Democrats in the November Congressional elections, as the young voters who helped propel the party to power in 2008 grow disenchanted with their economic prospects.

“More so in the last year to 18 months than at any time, we have seen applicants from prior graduating classes looking for the kind of entry-level jobs we’re recruiting for,” said Dan Black, director of campus recruiting for Ernst & Young LLP, a professional-services firm headquartered in New York.

“There are a lot more cohorts competing with each other: ‘09 with ‘10, probably ‘10 with ‘11.”

Unemployment among people under 25 years old was 19.6 percent in April, the highest level since the Labor Department began tracking the data in 1948.

Their economic travails may haunt Democrats in the November midterm elections.

The youthful voters who helped propel the party to victory in the 2006 Congressional elections and gave the 2008 Obama campaign much of its vibrancy are showing signs of waning enthusiasm.

Democrats held a 62 percent to 30 percent advantage over Republicans in 2008 among “millennials,” born after 1980, according to the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press in Washington D.C.

Their 32-point margin shrank to 18 points this year, with 55 percent leaning Democratic and 37 percent Republican, based on polls taken from January through April.

Thirty-three percent of Harvard’s graduating seniors had accepted a job as of commencement last year, down from 51 percent the year before. The survey results for this year’s class haven’t been released. For more, see Bloomberg.

Pain in Spain?

We've been watching the whole Euro zone and world transits, as well as the country of Spain, which, along with Portugal, Ireland, Italy, England, and Greece, are in deep economic crisis.

Spain has just nationalized one of its big banks, sending chills in markets.

According to economic analyst Reggie Middleton,

"As We Have Warned, the Fissures Are Widening in the Spanish Banking System

As of 6:40 am, [May 24] US futures are down 15 points, with the MSM blaming the nationalization of the Spanish bank CajaSur.

The Bank of Spain seized troubled CajaSur with 500 million euro ($624 million) in funding to keep it solvent. The move pushed the Euro lower and left investors concerned about the country’s fiscal health.

The nationalization comes at a time of rising concerns over Spanish credit-worthiness, despite the European Union’s decision earlier this month to put together a safety net for distressed European economies.

On Sunday, Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriquez Zapatero told a group of socialist mayors, “No one can doubt at any time that Spain is a strong country and an economic power that will meet its obligations and pay debts.”

CajaSur’s failure is the second in Spain since the start of the global financial crisis.

The bank — based in the southern city of Cordoba — has 13 billion euros ($16.35 billion) in loans and holds 0.6 percent of the total assets in the Spanish financial system."

The crisis in Spain comes at a bad time astronomically. A general public strike is planned for June 8, the day Jupiter conjoins Uranus at 0-Aries.

Meanwhile, the people over at Sense of Events ask:
Is a Depression Looming?

Advice & Tips

Jupiter-Saturn oppositions affect the overall Business Cycle.

This particular opposition comes at bad time for college graduates because of the Saturn, Uranus, Pluto T-Square - a signature of deep economic and systemic dysfunction worldwide.

I fully expect to hear of increasing austerity measures, and deep budget cuts by governments, states, and municipalities around the world.

These measures will undoubtedly cause more social upset, and exacerbate the world economic crisis into a global depression.

Economically, socially, and geopolitically, things are going to be rough for a while until financial systems and markets are able to get clear of the hedge fund manipulators and wolf speculators who caused the damage to begin.

Personally, for those impacted by the world changes, it is important to understand yourself, your own inherent talents, skills, and gifts, and to trust your instincts.

Think medium and long-range, and be open to making the most out of positive opportunities.

The ride is going to be rough for many people, but there are ways to make things less bumpy, and to even thrive in the times ahead.

Don't be rushed, allowing daily inclinations to suddenly change patient plans. At the same time, be prepared for action by knowing what your positive goals are.

Cardinal transits are nearly always active, so, using caution before giving in to haste & impulse is wise and prudent.

Summer and autumn 2010 are not the best seasons to take chances, nor to engage in hasty behavior, though the cardinal inclinations will surely be felt, and experienced in the world, it is important to be patient, prudent and practical.

For the individual impacted by the Cardinal inclinations, I continue to urge patience, safety, and caution.

Do your best to avoid haste, and impulse, while at the same time recognizing the opportunities that new situations can bring, while lowering risk from hasty behavior, or immature impulse.

The idea behind being able to handle and apply the Cardinal Transits of 2010-2015, more or less, is to adapt gradually into the new astrological times.

This is also a time of generational transition, so, as is often common, it is best to adapt as things go along while at the same time building up a new lifestyle without giving way to those things that are outworn and that have outlived usefulness.

Undoubtedly, world events will be inclined because of the ignorance of global transits for the most part, and the foolishness of people, groups, states and governments.

Nevertheless, I continue to warn all that the cardinal global transits have long-term ramifications and unintended consequences for the hasty decisions and impulsive actions taken this year, and next.

~ British Astrologer Lara Owen says ~
"The big astrological event this week occurs on Thursday/Friday [May 27-28] with the entry of Uranus into the sign of Aries for the first time in 84 years.

Uranus is the planet of rebellion and revolution, of surprises, scientific and technological breakthroughs, spiritual/mental illumination, spontaneity and sudden change.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and carries the energy of birth, the new, the magic of beginning, and archetype of the Fool.

Combined, these two archetypal principles of Uranus and Aries make for a lightning bolt, a wake-up call, a sudden compulsion to make changes.

With the slower-moving planets, we seem to feel their impact before aspects and entries into signs are exact, and the tone of Uranus in Aries is indeed already showing up.

At its best, this influence gives us the courage to make our world anew, helping us break out of limiting perceptions and mental habits.

At worst, it has us haring off after get-rich schemes and romantic chimeras, and falling over our own stupidity in the process.

The last time Uranus entered Aries, in April 1927, it was soon followed by Jupiter, just like this year. Due to retrogrades, for several months the two planets stayed close together at 0-3 degrees Aries.

That summer television was viewed for the very first time by a group of scientists, CBS was born and went on the air with 47 radio stations, and Charles Lindbergh flew solo across the Atlantic. Uranus is a liberator: in 1927 in the UK, women aged 21 and over got the vote.

As I and many other astrologers have written about extensively, this summer sees a number of intense planetary configurations in the early degrees of cardinal signs, all of which feature Uranus at zero degrees of Aries.

For much of the summer, Uranus and Jupiter are conjunct while opposing Saturn and squaring Pluto. Every now and then a faster moving planet joins them, creating a peak effect.

Last week we had the Venus peak, (and as I had indicated last week, there was indeed a whole lot of news about money: the stock markets plummeted and the Euro gasped for survival.)

Peaks to come are June 22-24 Sun, Uranus, Jupiter, and Pluto (with Saturn still in Virgo but very close); June 26-27 Mercury, Uranus, Jupiter, and Pluto, and (Saturn); July 30-Aug 4 Mars, Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn (now at 0 Libra) and Pluto.

It’s a huge good news/bad news scenario, with outcomes unpredictable. Jupiter conjunct Uranus can be fabulous: lucky, inspiring, brilliant. (Curiously Jupiter has just lost its lower belt, all of a sudden, as it is conjuncting Uranus.)

Saturn opposite Uranus can feel like a very uncomfortable squeeze, but can also bring re balancing and breakthroughs.

Uranus square Pluto brings the urge for freedom into direct confrontation with the urge to control.

Major themes represented by these configurations are in the news already, some showing up as breakthroughs, some as challenges: the oil disaster in the Gulf, civil unrest in Thailand and Greece, new political structures and relationships in the UK.

What can we do to stay sane and keep things together during this time? Let go of what doesn’t work. Clinging to outmoded forms out of habit and fear is even less workable under current influences than usual. Clear out, clean up, move on.

The cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) are the most active signs: they are all about doing, changing, creating. So do, work, make.

If you sit around too much this year you’ll feel frustrated, irritable and antsy. Action, movement, and courage are the qualities that can help us move most happily and productively through this extraordinary time.

Full Moon in Sagittarius

Two hours before Uranus enters Aries, we have a Full Moon in Sagittarius, at 7:07 pm Eastern, 4:07 pm Pacific on Thursday {May 27) and 12:07 am Friday (May 28) in the UK, 1:07 am in Western Europe.

Sagittarius, like Aries, is a fire sign. This might be one of those insomniac Full Moons for those of us who are moon-sensitive. At its best Sagittarius energy is mentally and spiritually expansive, so if you find yourself awake in the night, try meditating instead of tossing and turning.

Saturn goes direct

On Sunday May 30, Saturn goes direct at 27:50 Virgo. It moves into Libra on July 22. So this is the last pass of Saturn through those final degrees of Virgo.

People born at the tail end of Virgo and Pisces are likely to find themselves working very hard these next two months. And Gemini and Sagittarius too.

You’ll need to be both diligent and patient. The turn of Saturn to direct motion allows long-term projects to move forward, especially ones involving building and finance, but it always takes work and attention.

We can expect substantial contributing factors to the rumpus in the financial markets to get cleared up while Saturn is moving forward in the last degrees of Virgo, but there will be some sacrificial lambs.

There’s a lot going on this week and the energies are changeable, erratic, and confusing. If your anxiety level is going up, do what you can to stay grounded. Be well and happy!"

~

It's good and sound advice from Lara Owen. I wholly agree. These energies will last far beyond this week, but over the next several months, and, overall, through the next 4-5 years.

The planetary cardinal inclinations are building towards action, and this is seen by the near-daily protests worldwide, and, we find, in New York City, the heart of the financial world.

Your average American is becoming very upset out there... Just look at the brooding faces below of Joe & Josephine American...

These are couples, business owners, homeowners, and parents.

With summer - and the Cardinal t-square - just around the corner, they are not happy campers.

When I was a teenager and my parents had that look, that grimace, that glint in their eyes, just like in the faces below, I just knew something was seriously up with the adults when they were pissed with the way things were going in life.

Bills adding up, no jobs, schools a mess, mortgages, foreclosures, neighbors, friends, and families struggling, kids going without, communities falling apart.

Feeling squeezed and boxed in from all sides.

That look.

"Something is up..." I would say to my friends.

I called it "Uh-oh time"

      Mundane World Transits: 2010-2015
Forecast By Theodore White; mundane Astrolog.S
      Θεόδωρος

There are six (6) major transits of the Cardinal Crisis Years - signified by the planets involved & their inclinations:

      - Saturn oppose Uranus -
      2008-2010

Frustrating attempts to change existing conditions
      The new versus the old
      Virgo/Pisces - Aries/Libra

Negative attitudes within personal areas of responsibility against those of personal freedom. People generally demand strict obedience to their authority but will rebel against authority at the same time.

Much cooperation is needed to avoid falling into the unfavorable inclinations of Saturn's opposition to Uranus.

A sustained cycle where much insight, honesty, and awareness is needed to offset the powerful tendency to be rigid and unforgiving in personal and professional affairs.

Extreme viewpoints expressed by the ignorant and mentally ill fall under this influence. Loud public pronouncements shouted with wild mannerisms expressing inconsistent attitudes can be observed.

Common sights are: bugged-eye pundits uttering unsubstantiated personal opinions as facts; personal attacks, insults, and acerbic comments designed to bring attention to oneself.

Impulse, haste, snap judgments, immaturity, poor communication skills lacking any sign of social grace and basic manners can be observed.

Negative emotional attitudes bordering on signs of stress and mental illness is also quite common.

There is widespread conflict between the old order and the new emerging order. This is generational.

Groups and individuals battle against corruption of the old establishment, while the old establishment denies losing their clout, and remain fixated on old methods, rejecting anything "new" that threatens their established order.

Concepts and ideas in economic, business and political affairs tend to be impractical, unreliable, and eccentric. Economic life continues to run at a low ebb.

See - Part 3 Of Spain Is Dying

These conflicts play out with professional and personal relationships in a pre-revolutionary manner - pushing relationships to breaking points.

Saturn's opposition to Uranus is unfavorable when dealing with joint accounts, finances, corporate business affairs, inheritances, insurance, and all economic matters important to organizations, groups, and individuals.

The economic climate is highly stressed, with conflicts between the "old" and the "new" at extremes and waiting for the breaking points to arrive.

Selfish motives within organizations, and groups tend to be those where others try to take credit for the work of others in order to advance their own careers leading to estrangements between associates, colleagues and friends.

Ulterior motives abound, as do negative emotions, rampant cynicism; along with personal and professional betrayals. The feelings are quite intense, as oppositions tend to be.

Saturn's inflexibility grinds against Uranus' desire for significant change. The events that have taken place in the world since 2001 is now moving into the "release" phase and into the second decade of the 2010s.

As the fifth and last Saturn/Uranus opposition peaks by July/August 2010, we should observe strong emotions worldwide; seeking a "release" from the pent up energies, anger, and recriminations that have built up over the recent decade of the 2000s.

      - Saturn Square Pluto -
      2010

Power Plays, Plots, Cold, Evil & Unsympathetic People
      Libra/Capricorn

General signs of paranoia exists within groups and organizations is one feature of a Saturn/Pluto Square. The large-scale implications of actions taken in government, business, and political groups often force people to face dangerous situations of a sinister nature.

The will power of those involved in personal and professional intrigues is heightened to the point of very negative inclinations with some people using coercive methods to achieve what they perceive as success.

Under Saturn/Pluto this can feature acts of blackmail, threats, and plots at the highest levels of government, within political groups, and corporations.

Paranoid individuals with extreme opinions, and viewpoints is also common under  A Saturn/Pluto square.

The emotions can be deep, but the insights are often clouded by dishonorable associations and emotions to individuals and groups who do not have the best interests of others at heart.

Some individuals will find themselves battling against corruption and rampant dishonesty within organizations, or within associations, be they professional or personal with attacks on their reputation coming as a result of fighting dishonest persons and groups.

The coming revelations of widespread corruption in global financial markets, on Wall Street, and other stock markets will be under the Saturn/Pluto square.

Forcing major players to fight for their freedom because of accusations of the theft of tens of billions of dollars leading to a worldwide global recession.

Corporate power plays take center stage under the cardinal crisis transits with increasing political pressure and regulatory scrutiny on major banks, insurance companies, and those implicated in widespread financial malfeasance over the last decade.

The focus on these areas: unemployment, insurance, housing, stock markets, hedge funds, secret bank accounts, general economics, political and government affairs, alimony, and inheritances - is all common under the influences of Saturn's square from Libra to Pluto in Capricorn.

It is also common under these inclinations for opposing groups and individuals to use negative, dishonest, and evil means to obtain personal/profession advantages over others; or attempts to hide past acts of malfeasance to avoid implicating others involved in acts of corruption.

This often backfires under the Saturn/Pluto square and results in public scandal along with damage to the reputation and the careers of those who used negative means to gain what they "perceive" to be an advantage.

Nowhere does "do unto others as you would have them do unto you' applies more than under a Saturn/Pluto world square.

The effect on personal and professional connections can be long-lasting with people completely breaking off any further association with friends, family and colleagues.

Power struggles - both internal and external - is a main theme of a Saturn/Pluto Square.

The will-power is increased, but the personal judgment is often very poor. This gives way to intense emotions that are not clearly understood enough to make valuable judgment calls on all levels of decisions.

Often, decisions are based on perceived "associations" with others who are not one's friends, nor who share one's common interests, except to advance their own personal interests while using others as a means to and end. Very common under Saturn's square to Pluto.

After the square aspect passes, the events which have taken place under its influences are fully revealed, leading to permanent estrangements from those once trusted and valued as friends, associates, or lovers.

Saturn's continued transit through Libra (2010-2012) then features a full distrust and estrangement from those who used dishonest means during the Saturn/Pluto inclinations.

These estrangements will last a very long time and trust will never be restored after the world square aspect has moved out of orb.

      - Jupiter Square Pluto -

Coercions, False Promotions, Litigation & Dishonesty
      Aries/Capricorn - 2010-2011
Opposition from Jupiter in Cancer to Pluto in Capricorn arrives 2013-2014

The Jupiter/Pluto Square acts much like that of Saturn's square to Pluto. Jupiter's motion into Aries in mid-2010, and then again in February 2011, will square Pluto in tropical Capricorn.

The same kinds of conflicts under Saturn's influence by square to Pluto comes into action with hasty, impulsive and headstrong promotion of one's opinions as facts to gain a perceived advantage over others.

Temptation is strong with inclinations to use dishonest means to get what one thinks they want.

Rampant litigation under Jupiter's inclinations lead to a rush toward legal wars without first seeing the bigger picture. With the Jupiter square to Pluto: it is the forest first, the trees second, but do make sure you count each tree.

The contradictions of this is simple:

Jupiter's square to Pluto, in combination to its conjunction to Uranus in opposition to Saturn, and by square to Pluto, and back, fully complicates matters, so as to act as a powerful feedback loop with amplifiers about to blow loudly if the volume of intensity is not turned down.

The energies of the Cardinal Cross transits are simply too strong. Patience, slowing down, and reposing are the keys to effectively neutralizing these powerful cardinal inclinations.

Under the Jupiter/Pluto square, serious mistakes are often made preparing legal cases without first laying down the proper practical groundwork.

Often, this comes about because of ego, and headstrong acts featuring arrogance and pride; but wholly failing to take into account the small, but very important details.

The majority of litigation made under these influences will collapse like a house of cards after months of what seemed like a iron-clad case.

The only way to neutralize this transit, as with all the others of the Cardinal Crisis transits is to slow down, and to be strictly honest at all times in all personal and business affairs.

Also, the need to remain detached and practical while plodding step-by-step without ego, impulse, and haste. This is the antidote to the impulsive inclinations of cardinal transits.

Power-plays, and forced acts of coercion, with promotions of extreme expressions of personal, political and religious viewpoints is quite common under this global square.

Often, one's aspirations to remake others comes with neglecting one's own house while confused attitudes about ethics and morality are cast aside in favor of haste and impulse - rushing to judgment.

Struggles with corrupted individuals and groups is also common under a Jupiter/Pluto Square.

Criminal underworld groups, and their associates often war against one another in the perceived struggle for "power," without understanding the dire future implications of their violent acts which, in time, will return upon the very people involved in these evil affairs.

There can be dubious spiritual practices featuring over-optimistic false spiritual, religious and political beliefs shaped by the realization that there are large-scale forces at work that the individual (s) have been forced to see as a result of changes in lifestyles.

The square aspect in this respect can be positive if the individual (s) remember to not act in haste or impulse in accepting too easily that which is being realized.

Under the cardinal crisis transits, there are efforts by others to remake or coerce others to partake in evil behaviors - effectively using people to do the things which "appear" to advance the interests of those who agree to take part in actions, or groups.

After the 2010 Jupiter/Pluto Square comes another one by mid-2013 into the year 2014.

This will be part of the Grand Cardinal Cross of 2014 showing powerful cardinal inclinations of haste, and impulse that feeds into the coming Uranus-Pluto Squares of the 2010s.

Again, there is a sense that things are not changing as quickly as people would like them to, and the ramifications of the decade of the 2000s continue to persist into the early years of the 2010s.

Unless the problems of rampant past corruption - especially in the financial sector - then this world Grand Cross, with Jupiter now in Cancer, as part of another series of cardinal crisis configurations - will return to bite back with a vengeance in 2014.

      - Jupiter Oppose Saturn -
      2010-2012

Bad Business Timing, Questionable Tactics &  Promised Favors Undone
      Pisces/Aries - Virgo/Libra
      Jupiter at 0-10 degrees Taurus

Jupiter/Saturn oppositions arrive every 20 years. The last one took place in 1990-91. They usually always feature an economic recession, usually deep ones, which can take several years to emerge out of before conditions gradually improve.

Such will be the case with the 2010-2012 opposition of Jupiter/Saturn. During these oppositions expect business to suffer as the generational transition continues over the course of Jupiter's opposition to Saturn.

Because of the poor economic climate some people may resort towards using questionable tactics to get ahead and make money.

With the business climate contracted, some will seek shortcuts and dubious actions to get ahead while others continue to face competition with limited resources.

The desired expansion of business is fraught with frustration after frustration, red-tape, barriers, blocks, delays, and legal problems. Rising defaults & bankruptcies increase as a result of past mismanagement of resources and corruption with credit conditions tighter than normal.

See - Professor Warren Warns About 2011-2014

It is an unfavorable time to expand business concerns, or to take chances because of the uncertainty of finances, contracts and commitments from others, who tend to be unreliable due to limited resources, confusion, lack of planning, procrastination, and a general lack of honesty and fair play.

The crush of competition, fighting for a limited amount of customers, with resources lacking can further cause disruptions in professional and personal lives to the point of some leaving entire industries for good.

This will continue under the inclinations of Jupiter's opposition to Saturn.

It is a poor time to seek favors from others, as the business climate of 2010-2012 will continue to suffer from immense commercial & residential real estate losses, double-digit unemployment, and a general sense of malaise from an aging generational establishment.

Those seeing support from official institutions, such as federal, state, and local agencies, may find themselves frustrated with the lack of help usually expected from these offices.

This is because those in positions of power are either on their way out the door themselves, or have become cold and unsympathetic to those in need; preferring instead to look out only for themselves.

While this takes place, many people will see their own personal and professional responsibilities increase; while wages continue to stagnate from the lack of resources, which will be limited because of prior economic corruption and waste.

The opposition of Jupiter to Saturn can test what the true balance really is between being optimistic, and being pessimistic. Much will depend on the ability of the individual to be creative, and patient, while the opposition is underway.

It will not last forever, so those who are looking for opportunities during this time should be aware to remain cautiously optimistic, while clearly seeing what the true barriers to success will be during 2010 to 2012.

Most, if not all of the barriers are those held by people with cold, conservative and uncompromising attitudes. Hypocrisy and distorted moral values is also common under a Jupiter/Saturn opposition.

What used to make sense, and would be expected as normal modes of operation and procedures is perverted by the unyielding attitudes of uncompromising people.

Many of these people will be older, and due to the transit of Saturn, will exhibit rigid views without realizing that in a short period of time after the opposition has waned and passed; that they themselves will receive similar treatment from the very people whom they denied opportunities and relief.

The conflicts which come about during 2010-2012 under the Jupiter/Saturn opposition will tend towards ethics; morals; joint finances, family responsibilities, friendships, associations, romantic relationships, partnerships and corporate struggles that will test the reliability and strength of relationships in general.

The Jupiter/Saturn opposition will begin to weaken in February 2012, and by the end of March 2012, will move out of orb.

By this time, those who were frustrated, or blocked from advancement will find an easier go of things gradually in 2012 as Saturn moves out of opposition to the outer planets, and brings a sense of relief by 2013.

However, memories will be still fresh from the red tape, delays, and barriers put up by those with unyielding attitudes. This will come back to haunt those who denied others the potential for advancement during the 2010s, and leads into the coming Uranus/Pluto squares of the 2010s.

The relief in 2013 doesn't last long due to Jupiter's motion out of tropical Gemini, and into tropical Cancer where Jupiter will transit to oppose Pluto in Capricorn - initiating yet another chapter of the Cardinal Crisis Years.

      - Jupiter Oppose Pluto -
      August 2013 - June 2014

      Cancer/Capricorn
Part of the Cardinal Grand Cross of April 2014

Forced Reforms, Business Clash, Coercions, International Tensions &  Revolts

By the end of June 2013, transiting Jupiter will have moved out of tropical Gemini, and enter Cancer. Making a nice trine to transiting Saturn in Scorpio by early July, it would appear that the struggles, and tensions of the previous two-and-a-half years are over.

However, this is not so according to the world transits. This is simply a breather with more to come by the following month of August, when transiting Mars conjoins Jupiter in Cancer and oppose Pluto in Capricorn.

Jupiter's opposition to Pluto is a time of what appears to be continued stresses around finances, economics, and what policies should be enacted, and which should not.

There can be tendencies to push things too quickly, to overreach with big plans, and grandiose ideas without firming up foundations.

During the period of the Jupiter-Pluto opposition, it is important to take time to make certain that the practical matters of business and personal life are attended to by balancing one's sense of organization against one's desire to push out and expand.

Under this influence come attempts to force, to coerce, or to remake others - claiming one's desires to reform other while not paying attention to one's own need for it personally. This is also extended internationally.

A fine balance must be taken under a Jupiter-Pluto opposition before initiating wide reforms carelessly without prior deep thought, insight, and understanding of the long-term consequences.

Jupiter is in Cancer - the home sign of the United States - so in 2013 and 2014, the opposition to Pluto can indicate tensions from the people towards government, or, to an administration in power at the time as well as international tensions abroad.

The areas highlighted are those around political policies, philosophical ideology, education, religion, and cultural beliefs and norms clashing against anything that appears to be autocratic in nature.

The strongest date of the opposition is in the year 2014, when transiting Mars, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto form a Grand Cross in the cardinal signs of Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn. The peak of this grand cross is in April 2014.

Jupiter will oppose Pluto, while in square aspect to both Uranus in Aries, and Mars, retrograde in Libra by April 2014. Tensions are high and this grand cross speaks of both international and national tensions at a peak under yet another Cardinal Crisis.

Mixed with a sense of over-optimism, underneath the public feelings at this time is also impatience, and a strong lack of practical common sense that allows many to jump to conclusions - which is part of the cardinal inclinations of haste and impulse once again coming to the fore.

The sense of adventure and grandiose idealism at this time is marked by a hesitancy seen by the retrograde of Mars in Libra at this time.

There are unexpected hostile dealings with foreigners for those outside their home countries, and those overseas tend towards being unpredictable and unreliable.

Spring 2014 into summer 2014 is not a good time for overseas travel. Moreover, the diplomatic tensions are high, so diplomats may come into contact with those in foreign states those who may be difficult to contend with at this time.

Prudence, tact, and foresight is strong advised among all parties, be they individuals, groups, companies, organizations or nations.

The Grand Cross of 2014 signals a sort of "peaking" of the previous cardinal transits of 2010 and 2011 with inclinations of demanding freedom at all cost without taking on the mantle of patience, and responsibility that comes along with demands.

Before 2014, the sense of optimism fueled by the coming and going of the year 2012 when the world did not come to an end, and the inclinations of the year 2013 with a sense of new-found, but cautious optimism, is met by April 2014 with a sense that rebellion and revolt is once again on the horizon.

The international tensions at this time in 2014 will stem from former disagreements and beliefs among nations which appear to have undermined future matters by ignoring principles with empty words - saying one thing, but doing another.

This obviously leads to international clashes when trust appears to be broken between some nations. This shows in world transits of 2014. It is the year of the diplomat.

Mars' retrograde in Libra (March 1, 2014 to May 19, 2014) plays a strong role in the Cardinal Grand Cross of that year.

Wise decision-making is at a premium; so heads of state, and their diplomats should be careful not to overreach, nor to promise more than they can deliver, but to balance threats with peaceful acts, and with careful solutions via prudent diplomacy and tact.

Mars' opposition to Uranus in Aries in 2014 speaks of conflicts, and clashes among states, organizations, friends, and family who take sides on the broader issues of the times. The transit of Mars in Libra (December 7, 2013 to July 25, 2014) is a long one.

The retrograde of Mars from March to May 19, 2014 takes part during the strongest months of the Cardinal Grand Cross in April & May.

Decision-making is important here, and, with Mars declining in Libra, it is essential to have the right players in position during this time of global transits. The wrong personalities involved as "diplomats" are apt to make things that much worse simply because of their personal and political ideologies.

It is wise to remove ideological hotheads in critical positions at this time in 2014 and to replace them with calm, cool, and smart diplomats who can be trusted and relied upon to create atmospheres for leaders where positive progress can be made.

Compounding this will be a total Lunar eclipse at 25-Libra during the early morning hours of April 15, 2014 that will be visible over the Americas, the Pacific, and east Australia.

The degrees indicated by Sabian symbols say ~
      • 25º Libra - "The sign of an autumn leaf brings to a pilgrim the sudden revelation of the mystery of life and death."
      • 26º Libra - "An Eagle and a large White Dove Turning into each other."
My forecast is for an international conflict at this time of the Grand Cross, that continues into July 2014, before either being resolved fully, or which escalates into warfare.

The choices indicated here by Jupiter's opposition to Pluto show that successful advance diplomacy must be made prior to spring 2014, and that signs of the coming conflicts will be seen in late 2012, and early 2013.

Spring 2014 in the northern hemisphere is a tense time of international tension that should be resolved by carefully handling the energies with proper decision-making, diplomacy, and a fine balance between leadership and international cooperation.

In this way, President Theodore Roosevelt's advice to "speak softly but carry a big stick" applies very well at this time in the world. The energies of the solar year of 2014 are about the promotion of peace, calm, and wise diplomacy.

Though the ignorant may propound immediate military action; the consequences are far-reaching into the future - so leaders at this time in 2014 will need to exercise wise restraint while carefully balancing the advice of doves and hawks to come to a solution that will satisfy everyone.

Compounding the problem at this time is the fifth exact square between Uranus and Pluto which occurs in April 2014. This is part of the Global Grand Cardinal Cross that year. We will now take a look at the roles these two outer planets will play, along with their powerful inclinations.

       - Uranus Square Pluto -
      2011-2020 overall

      Rebellions, Revolts & Revolutionary Sentiments
      Aries/Capricorn
      early Taurus/Capricorn

If anything defines some of the more tense cardinal energies of the 2010s, it will be the Uranus transit of Aries in global square to transiting Pluto in Capricorn.

Handling this world square will not be an easy matter after the failures of the past generation to resolve many of the outstanding issues of the end of the 20th century, and the decade of the 2000s.

By July 2011, transiting Uranus will come very close to performing a near-exact square to Pluto in Capricorn, but Uranus will station retrograde on July 9, 2011 - delaying the first exact square with Pluto for 11 more months.

Uranus and Pluto, as slow moving outer planets, will remain in orb for most of the decade of the 2010s. Their most powerful inclinations occur from 2011 to the year 2018.

The first of seven (7) exact squares begins officially on June 24, 2012 with Uranus and Pluto square at 8-Capricorn. This is the first in a series of very powerful world square aspects between both planets relative to the Earth.

The Uranus/Pluto Cardinal squares lasts, overall, from 2011 to 2020.

An unprecedented Seven (7) exact squares occur in just three (3) years: 2012 to 2015
      (*) = significant dates

      2. *September 18-19, 2012 second square at 6-degrees Aries/Capricorn
      3. May 20, 2013 – third square at 11-degrees Aries/Capricorn
      4. November 1, 2013 – fourth square at 9-degrees Aries/Capricorn
      5. *April 21, 2014fifth square at 13-degrees Aries/Capricorn
      6. December 14-15, 2014 – sixth square at 12-degrees Aries/Capricorn
      7. *March 16-17, 2015seventh global square at 15-degrees Aries/Capricorn

The last time Uranus and Pluto met in global square aspect was during the 1930s. This was a decade of reactionary, extreme right-wing politics, revolutionary socialism, rising crime, rebellions, revolts, and restrictive laws gradually reducing freedoms throughout Europe and the then-Soviet Union.

The Bank Crisis and Stock Market Crash of 1929-33 fueled the early years of the Great Depression with rising waves of petty crime and bank robberies. The resulting foreclosures of homes, businesses and family farms amid a depressed global economic system cast a dark shadow over the world.

The NYSE reaching its lowest trading point in history. Weather anomalies under the influence of Uranus in Aries led to the hottest year in U.S. history in 1933-34 with drought and dust storms raging across the American Midwest.

Meanwhile, political extremism ensued with the rise of tyrants, as Adolf Hitler rose to power in Germany while in Japan, radical forms of militarism spread so much that it was being openly taught in elementary and high schools.

The revolts, rebellions and revolutionary sentiments under the Uranus/Pluto squares thus paved the way for the Second World War that followed by the end of the 1930s.

Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn revolve their squares worldwide for much of the 2010s, but the most powerful periods are between 2012 through 2015.

This is a time of great upsets within nations which have now experienced at least four to seven years in the wake of the global economic crisis.

Uranus' penchant for sudden change against Pluto's desire structure in Capricorn for a kind of transformational war that butt heads over the "kinds" of new changes to be realized and those not to be supported.

While this is happening, populations around the world seem to have had it to their chins with the constant disruptions of their lives; the losses of lifestyles over the years.

They react powerfully by demanding immediate changes without question while the forces of the status quo and old establishment refuse to yield - deciding to procrastinate even more.

Groups, organizations and individuals have become radicalized by the events since 2008. So much so, that by the time (June 2012) of the first of seven exact Uranus/Pluto square social unrest is a certainty in regions around the world.

There are increasing signs of rebellions, revolts and foreboding examples of revolutionary sentiments expressed in various nations upset with the status quo, represented by Pluto in Capricorn.

It seems everything is on the table here: economic, social, political and religious structures are be challenged from all sides. People want change, and intend on getting it.

The headstrong inclinations of Aries, with Uranus in it's 7-year transit in this sign, squaring Pluto can indicate sudden deaths coming about unexpectedly; usually through acts of violence, and from common accidents, and unexpected large-scale disasters related to weather extremes.

Past associations, friendships and relationships can become radically changed under Uranus and Pluto's cardinal squares. It is at this time, between 2012-2015 that companies that were hanging on by a thread financially - can suddenly break and fall into bankruptcy.

The entry of Neptune into tropical Pisces in February 2012 will impress dissolution on failing companies afterward, with a slow, but gradual death into the mid-to-late 2010s.

The sudden losses associated with Uranus' transit in Aries can bring about greater financial losses than expected while corporations continue to witness power struggles as the generational transition picks up speed in the early to mid-2010s.

The revolutionary sentiments inclined by Uranus/Pluto come about as a result of the frustrations of the decade of the 2000s.

The global economic crisis, and the resulting societal effects have angered many populations who feel that their governments and representatives were not representing them, but corporate monied-interests that pilfered society's resources.

The resulting backlash featured under the Uranus/Pluto squares of the 2010s will be widespread, and quite unsettling for those involved in the mismanagement of trillions of dollars and euros over the previous decade.

Rising crime can be a problem; also fueled by the lack of resources because of the Banking Crisis of 2008-2012.

Hasty and impulsive actions to acquire money through illegal acts become more public as law and order seems to be failing to take hold of the rising tide of criminal acts perpetuated by career criminals let out on the streets after being released from prison, but not reformed.

State officials, under pressure financially, are forced to release thousands of prisoners in the early 2010s to relieve the system from overcrowding.

State lawmakers all over the U.S., who say they need to save money from the devastating losses in state revenues say must release tens of thousands of convicts from prison in the 2010s, including drug addicts, thieves and violent criminals.

If there has been little reform of the system during the time of incarcerations, then obviously the lingering effects of the economic crisis that awaits convicts on the street can be a threat to public safety under the Uranus/Pluto squares.

By the spring of 2014, things become quite tense again globally with another Cardinal Cross - this time a Grand Cross configuration featuring Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto in the Signs of Libra, Cancer, Aries and Capricorn.

Grand Cross configurations in cardinal signs seek immediate release of strong, emotional pent-up energies.

By April 2014, there is a sense among populations that they have had enough. They eject the usual explainations behind the causes of the economic crisis, which, by this time, will have persisted at various levels significantly enough to cause outright revolts in some nations.

At the same time, international tensions are sure to be high as well. There is a strong need for calm, but strong diplomacy as the Cardinal Grand Cross energies peak by April & May 2014.

Resolution of conflicts between nations can occur by utilizing cooperative stances, as well as using the carrot and stick method to bring unwilling parties to the bargaining tables to resolve differences.

The energies of Uranus Square Pluto can be violent. Accidents, and deaths are caused by haste, impulse, and the refusal to be patient, and tolerant.

Aries is the Sign of haste/impulse, while Pluto seeks general transformation, but through a gradual and steady use of the authority, forms, disciplines and structures of Capricorn.

The clashes between pre-revolutionary forces and those managing the old systems of structure can meet in the middle, but this can only be accomplished through diplomacy, understanding with all sides being flexible.

Uranus' transit in square to Pluto will undoubtedly shape much of the international climate of the 2010s to the point that presidents, prime ministers, diplomats, national leaders, CEOs, managers, and all those in executive positions will have to carefully determine how best to handle their respective leadership roles over the next 10-12 years.

It will not be easy. Those who make the effort to plan ahead, and who are flexible in their thinking, and their attitudes, will do much better than those who are not.

Nonetheless, expect the global square of Uranus to Pluto to be the prime cardinal inclinational force that will make world news time and again through the decade of the 2010s, and into the mid-2020s.

      Personal Guidance
Try to see the next decade of the 2010s as a road. Right now, in this solar year between 2010 and 2011 - the world is at a historic crossroads. The same will be for many people worldwide.

People who have planetary positions at the end of the signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces; as well as those who have positions, either natally, or by progression, in the early degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn ~ will feel the transpersonal inclinations of the Cardinal T-square transits.

Those with angles allow the late degrees of mutable signs, or the early degrees of cardinal signs will also feel the cardinal transits of the outer planets.

The best way to deal with them is to use the transits in creative work, and personal work to reshape your own personal expressions, and looks, while knowing that a global transition is underway.

People who will fall under the inclinations will be those who project their problems into the lives of others rather than to face them honestly and resolve that which is within themselves.

Because the cardinal transits seek action, anyone so inclined in this way, failing to resolve their own inner issues, will be "reactionary" in their attitudes and expressions.

From June to late 2010 global transits are in the red zone+ with heavy doses of squares (challenges, use of power) and oppositions (ideologies/violent conflicts.)

Not a great summer. Too many egos and ideological heads butting all against one another at the same time. Travel totally sucks. Unfavorable transits all around. A mess.

My mundane advice would be to allow this summer and autumn to go by resting, relaxing, and not pushing anything at all, and for everyone to calm down. But, I'm just an astrologer, what do I know?

After mid-September to mid-November 2010,  a time to reassess, review, and deal with the emotional consequences of it all. Venus transits Scorpio from September 2010 to January 2011, and is retrograde in Scorpio from October to November.

I continue to forecast also on the months of October through December 2010, which is a strong emotional time full of drama because of the Venus retrograde, along with Mars' transit of Scorpio and Sagittarius during those months.

People who have left unresolved matters around foreclosures, businesses, professional jobs, careers, relationships, etc., will have to face these months which show that the end is near for their respective lifestyles.

Anyone who has people in their lives who refuse to see that times are changing had best take a look at themselves and get a grip.

Time to start saying "no" to the outworn methods and people who have been causing a lot of grief in society over the past several years of the economic, and now, social crisis.

The months of July through mid-November 2010 is generally a time to chill out, but to work with oneself and others to improve conditions heading into next year. This is a good time to take a closer look at the things going on in the world.

Do not be misled, there's a ton of evil crap that's being going on for a long time that needs attending to by the people.

The Cardinal transits of 2010 is simply the beginning 4-5 years of the public's reckoning.

Remember the end of the movie Frankenstein?

However, if anyone has a late start, then new projects will have to wait to get going until after mid-November 2010.

From that time onwards, to the late summer of 2011, excellent transits exist for those working with proper positive and healthy aspirations & goals.

There is still time from late May 2010 to mid-July 2010 to make adjustments, but people who are lag behind must see what is outworn, and no longer useful, so you can progress into the new decade on much better footing.

Don't wait to make changes, as you should be already doing so now. By mid-July 2010, transits are not favorable through to mid-November, so, patience will be needed if you miss your deadlines by July, or, put them off until late autumn.

Venus' direct motion November 18, 2010 is joined by Jupiter's direct motion the same day.

This features a time of renewal for early birds who are looking to jump start their engines for the years ahead. A wise time to do so is after mid-November 2010 through to August 2011.

This ten-month cycle is excellent for people with positive plans, and who are starting new careers, lives, relationships, projects, businesses, etc.

I would be planning right now, work through summer, keeping things low profile and not giving in to the cardinal inclinations of haste and impulse, but continue to progress without personal "dramas" through September, October, and into mid-November 2010.

That Venus retrograde in Scorpio (Oct. 7-8 to Nov. 18, 2010) is strong. It also features a time of phase change of Venus from "evening star" to morning star by October 29, 2010.

Evening to Morning Star Venus: By late October 2010, Venus will begin to rise ahead of the Sun rather than after it, shifting from 'evening' to 'morning star.' The morning star cycle lasts from late October 2010 to August 2011.

By the way, the Japanese just launched two new Venus probes on May 21.

If you look to the western skies at this time of writing (May 2010) as the sun sets on clear days towards night, you will see Venus shining as evening star.

Dynamic Japanese 2010 Probe Of Venus Gets Started: Soon after blasting off from southern Japan, the rocket deployed a satellite called Akatsuki, or 'Dawn' in English, which will reach orbit around Venus in six months. The same rocket also unloaded Ikaros, a probe propelled by a solar sail that will accelerate as it passes Venus towards the far side of the Sun.

The current Venus "evening star" cycle will end by October 29, 2010, when Venus is at 5-6 degrees of tropical Scorpio, just a day or two before Halloween.

During the second half of September, and into October, both Venus and Mars will transit tropical Scorpio.

Relationships are highlighted with endings and new beginnings during the autumn months in the northern hemisphere, and spring in the southern.

This is a time of personal emotional change, of transitions, and the choices you make will determine how you will live over the next 10-12 years.

So, make wise decisions during the summer and autumn months of 2010, and into the winter of 2011.

One doesn't have to make perfect decisions all the time, that's not what I mean. Under the inclinations of the mundane world transits, the important thing is to know when your opportunities to progress are, and to also know when risks are too much at any particular time.

Relationships of all kinds are now going through change, so people and associates you may have been around for some years will tend to wind down, endings, or will have already ended.

This is okay, for if the times call for change, and for progressing, then so be it. Inside yourself, it is going to have to sound something like this:

The thing is to remember to take a chance on developing new healthy relationships that will form the lifestyles and people you will come to know better in the new decade just ahead.

Knowing that times in the world are changing, why not form some new, positive, and exciting associations, and make things better?

The transitional year of 2010 will lead into a new era in 2011 that will last through the 2010s and 2020s.

The cardinal planetary inclinations, for the most part, signify significant changes in all areas of life: professional & personal.

How you handle this internally will have long lasting consequences; so be prudent about what is your fault, and what is not your fault.

The key thing to know about transpersonal effects of the causes which have been at play in the world is that it isn't your fault.

That is why it is "transpersonal," ~ meaning causes that affect large populations, and the general climate of the times.

This is important because there are many people out there who are depressed about matters they had nothing personally to do with, but somehow are convinced that it is their fault.

Nothing could be further from the truth when it comes to your average Earthling  just making their way through life.

We all know that the so-called forces of the bad guys who are to blame for much of the mess is the reason why the economic and social breakdowns occur. Those bad guys have something else coming their way...

My advice to anyone who hangs around any such bad people is to casually back yourself out of the room, and say, thanks, but no thanks. The world transits ahead, over the coming years, will not be kind to people such as that.

And, you don't want to be around people, who, because of their evil acts, have their names being written on the tips of lightning bolts, would you?

Knowing the distinction between what is personal and transpersonal frees up those who may have been depressed about losing homes to foreclosures, careers, jobs, and associates in challenging economic times.

This is what is the start of the cardinal transits is really about from now into the mid-2010s.

The personal effects from the cardinal crisis are transpersonal, and will appear as unresolved inner issues, which are best put aside and resolved.

This is because transits can force anything that is left unresolved within a person to appear, by force of the inclinations of the transits, into the outer, material world.

Regressing into old habits, because of unresolved personal issues, will allow the transpersonal transits of the planets to then materialize into your personal world.

However, be letting go, and giving up any regressive thought patterns, you can easily free up your mind and emotions for the more important matters of the future.

Positive thoughts go a long way into the 2010s, and no better time to start than right now. Those people who use their thoughts to form clear, positive images, and who do not allow themselves to be distracted by outworn, unresolved matters of the past will do best in this new decade.

Knowing that your own personal issues are resolved within; you will also be able to clearly see how transpersonal forces in the world affect you socially, professionally and personally.

Knowing the clear difference between what is your fault and what is not your fault in the current and future climate of how things are going in the world decreases emotional depression.

Once you wake up to this fact, then you are better equipped, and able, to make sense, and proper use out of the cardinal crisis transits the world is just beginning to enter into this spring of 2010.

Jupiter's transits for the world are interesting. The historic conjunction to Uranus in June &, September 2010, and again in early January 2011 signifies unique opportunities for people who seek positive climates and willing to work for these goals.

The three Jupiter/Uranus conjunctions, one in Aries (June 8, 2010) and two conjunctions in Pisces (September 2010 & January 2011) is clearly a sign of the changing times astronomically.

Touching up the seasonal point of 0-Aries the conjunction is both a help, and a hearken of coming global changes. I continue to forecast that this is an historic time, and will be seen as one in the years ahead.

The Jupiter/Uranus conjunctions gives the world a chance to take an important step in consciousness, which, along with the social breakdowns, and worries of the future, comes at a time of transitional generational change.

The causes, the inclinations, are transpersonal in nature and affect the entire world.

Knowing these differences frees a person up from being depressed about things that they had no say, or control over in the first place.

Here's a nine-year protesting at JP Morgan Chase in New York. Think he's depressed?

No, even a child knows things aren't as they should be, and he, like others who know this, are speaking out, and are loud about it. Positive action does yield positive results ~ especially with favorable transits.

Depends on how a person looks at things in the world, doesn't it?

The idea behind handling and navigating the Cardinal Crisis is to speak up, and speak out, but to also pace yourself about solutions as well as the problems in the world ~ transpersonally ~ as well as how you want to handle them personally in your own life.

It really is how you see that there are two different points of view that are connected, that of oneself, and that of other places in the world.

We are all connected to one another, and share common values (we hope) as human beings, so, the cardinal crisis is about a collective human progression that is now beginning to take place, and we call this mundane history.

A new astrological global era is beginning in this new decade; have no doubt about it; so it is a time of historic change, adapting, and seeking out new positive possibilities amid the confusion, corruption and chaos of the recent past, and, sadly, the current present.

How you choose to enter this new decade personally, with all its transpersonal causes, challenges, and exciting possibilities ~ between now and March 2011 ~ will determine the tone and course of the entire decade of the 2010s.

      So, choose well.
