Peace and Goodwill to All.

Praise and Glory be to the Immortal God.

Welcome to the new astrological year.

In our rapidly changing times, let us offer our prayers to the souls who have been murdered by evil forces on their way to perdition.

Let us also offer our sincere condolences to those families who have lost loved ones in their struggle for freedom and justice throughout the world.

This March 4, 2011 edition of Global Astrology is extensive. We cover a lot of ground as we offer astrological advice on how to navigate and survive the new astrological year into the early Twenty-Tens.

I've made this edition one which extends past the month of April, so please feel free to visit often to digest the wealth of data, information and general astrological guidance offered here.

Students of astrology may find the horoscopes provided of interest for further study as we examine the inclinations of the cardinal planetary transits of 2011 and the impacts on the world.

In this edition of Global Astrology, we head back to the Middle East, where we find the Cardinal Crisis remains in serious play with revolts and uprisings reported throughout the region in the wake of the historic January 25th revolution in Egypt.

We take a look at the civil war raging in Libya, as well as the horoscope of Libya's leader Mu'ammar Gadhafi, and ask, "what is going on in the mind of this man?"

We peer deeper into the economic crisis as Rolling Stone Magazine asks, "Why Isn't Wall Street in Jail?" with writer Matt Taibbi's series on the outrageous acts of Wall Street and the resulting global economic meltdown.

We also take a peek into just how it is possible to earn $2.5 million dollars an hour as hedge-fund player John Paulson seems to have accomplished, while 32 million Americans need jobs?

We offer personal astrological cures to the planetary transits in effect in 2011.

We also take an historical perspective on globalcrats, the oligarchy and baby boomer generation through the lens of Uranus' ending of a 42-year generational cycle.

Before we get to all that, let's take an in-depth astrological look at the various planetary transits of 2011, the 'super moon' lunar perigees of March & April, my mundane forecasts of earthquakes, and the views and interpretations of astrologers Jude Cowell and Lynn Hayes.

Mid-March officially opens the new astrological year of 2011. This new astrological year begins March 20, 2011 with the entry of the Sun into tropical Aries.

Seventeen days earlier, on March 3rd, the transiting North and South Lunar Nodes changed quality from the cardinal to the mutable axis with entry into Sagittarius-Gemini.

This begins a new 18-month cycle to late August 2012 and is a very important cycle for the world.

The lunar nodes, or the Dragon's Head and Tail, in the mutable Signs of Sagittarius and Gemini, have opened this new era where the transits of Jupiter and Mercury will be highlighted.

On March 11-12, Uranus officially re-enters tropical Aries and begins a new orbital cycle. We can always expect major world news as Uranus crosses over the 0-degree Aries vernal equinox point.

This is followed on March 28, 2011 by the first Jupiter-Saturn opposition since 1989-90, and opens up a Aries stellium in the month of April.

We also have two strong lunar perigees, or 'super moons,' taking place during the months of March and April.

Powerful Lunar Perigees

The Super Moons Of March And April:
Large Magnitude Earthquakes & Storms Ahead
By Theodore White, mundane Astrolog.S

In March and April 2011, there will occur two strong lunar perigees, or ‘super moons’ that will see the Moon unusually large when viewed from the Earth’s surface. Both lunar perigees will be exact in full moon phases. This follows the previous full moon perigee of February 18.

A ‘lunar perigee’ is when the Moon’s position is closer than normal to the Earth. When these perigees occur, seismic and weather anomalies increase worldwide.

Storms of heavy rains, gusting winds and surprise heavy snowfalls can ensue during lunar perigee months. Floods and sudden sinkholes can also occur. It is important to mind seismic activity and tsunamis during strong lunar perigees.

The Christchurch, New Zealand magnitude 6.3-earthquake took place less than three days after the February 18, 2011 lunar perigee, or 'super moon' at 29-degrees Leo.

The inclinations of the Moon affect all life on earth, including the emotions of human beings.

Both full moon perigees - March 19 and that of April 17-18 - will take place in the tropical signs of Virgo and Libra.

During these perigee months also expect unusual events associated with human events to take place in combination with the associated planetary transits of the cardinal crisis.

Usually, people can become overly emotional, nervous and excited during a strong lunation. It is important to take the time to avoid people who show signs of excitability, or mental illness while remaining calm and cool headed.

The closest perigee in 19 years will become exact with the March 19th Full Moon, where the Moon will be 356,577 kilometers from the Earth.

Perigee and apogee distances are primarily calculated based on the distance between the centers of the Earth and Moon.

Anyone at the equator of the Earth looking at the Moon when at its zenith is about 1.8 percent closer to the Moon than a person who is located at 90-degrees to the east or west in longitude, observing the Moon rise or set.

Known in astrometeorology, or advanced weather forecasting, lunar perigees often result in strong storms and increased seismic activity with the raising of earth, air and sea tides.

Moreover, with Uranus crossing over into tropical Aries on March 11-12, just before the Full perigee Moon of March 19, we can expect strong celestial inclinations that can spark powerful earthquakes and the eruption of volcanoes.

Though well known by astrologers, it has taken conventional science some time to catch up to what has long been observed how the Moon’s apogee and perigee inclinations effect life on Earth.

The combinatorial inclinations and effects on the natural earth, via seismic activity and volcanic eruptions are also associated with lunar transits relative to the Earth.

What the conventional scientific community needs to clearly understand is that serious astrologers over thousands of years have always known about lunar apogees and perigees, since it was astrologers who invented meteorology.

The poo pooing, and rolling of the eyes when the term 'astrology' is mentioned needs to come to an end. Most scientists who talk about astrology in demeaning terms have, at best, little to no knowledge of astrology other than the 'pop culture' version of Sun signs.

Hardly a credible depiction of the prescience of Astrology.

Many astrologers are scientists and well-versed in stellar cartography (astronomy) and weather forecasting (meteorology.) Both disciplines are sub-sections of Natural Astrology and were invented by astrologers.

I forecasted El Nino and La Nina for 2009-2011 several years before, applying the principles of astrometeorology. This is based on astrological principles, that the causes of all climate, weather and seismic events - come from space.

Astrophysical = causes
Geophysical = effects

These are the rules of physics which cannot be broken. The founder of the planetary laws of motion, Johannes Kepler, was himself a mundane astrologer and astrometeorologist.

So, it is well past time for conventional scientists who lack astrological knowledge to realize that the celestial bodies have direct influences, as we all know that the Sun and Moon - to name just two celestial bodies - clearly act on life on Earth.

It has taken conventional scientists far too long to escape the closed-minded ideology that rejects natural physical laws which regulate the Earth, its climate and resulting weather.

It is clear to anyone with a scientific ephemeris, a calculator and eyes to see, that celestial bodies have impact on Earth, which, by the way, is also a celestial body that lives in space.

Astrologers forecast. That is what we do. Astrology is the premier priori-based science.

We forecast to help, to warn in advance and to prepare people for the inclinations and effects from the configurations of planetary forces that influence the Earth.

Not wanting to 'believe' Astrology does not make it not so.

The Sun does not require your belief to rise, culminate and set. Nor does the Moon.

This is something conventional scientists must understand and get over if they are to be able to begin to forecast accurately into the future.

Science is about exploration and discovery. Science is observational.

Science is not about personal dispositions, nor 'ideology,' nor waiting to find a 'mechanism' until one can accept truths that have been already known for thousands of years.

If Astrology was good enough for Brahe, Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo, Newton and Franklin - all astrologers themselves - then we say it should be good enough for today's conventional scientists, yes?

Those scientists who poo poo the power of lunar perigees and astrological forces should sit back and observe these truths - and the action - of the celestial facts this month and in April.

You will see (once again) for yourselves the power of astrology and what astrologers have been saying for centuries.

During March, as conventional scientists attempt to explain away the power of lunar perigees, you will see items such as this one from Popular Science:

'Biggest Full Moon In 19 Years Almost Certainly Won't Cause A Huge Natural Disaster'

By Dan Nosowitz
Popular Science

On March 19th, the moon will be closer to Earth than it's been since 1992. The full moon that night will appear about 14 percent larger and significantly brighter than usual, but despite the brightness, the supermoon has a dark side.

Supermoons have been linked to massive natural disasters in the past, from earthquakes to floods - but that connection is typically touted by astrologists. Astronomers and scientists, with typical drollness, say a catastrophe is unlikely.

March 19th marks this year's lunar perigee, the point in the moon's orbit at which it is closest to Earth. It's the moon's elliptical orbit that's responsible for the differences in distance between the moon and Earth (the opposite, the point at which the moon is farthest from the Earth, is called the lunar apogee).

This month's perigee will leave the moon, says Steve Owens at Dark Sky Diary, about 8 percent closer to Earth than usual, and about 2 percent closer to Earth than the average lunar perigee. In fact, it'll be the closest positioning since 1992.

Past supermoons have coincided with natural disasters - the Indonesian earthquake in 2005, Australian flooding in 1954 - but scientists note that those are unrelated, more likely than not.

Says John Bellini, a geophysicist at the U.S. Geological Survey: "A lot of studies have been done on this kind of thing by USGS scientists and others. They haven't found anything significant at all."

The tides will pull a bit higher, but earthquakes are almost completely unaffected and volcanoes are not likely to show unusual behavior.

John Vidale, a seismologist at the University of Washington in Seattle, said "Practically speaking, you'll never see any effect of lunar perigee. It's somewhere between 'It has no effect' and 'It's so small you don't see any effect.' "

Besides, it's still 2011. Everyone knows there won't be any world-ending catastrophes until next year, right?
~

Comments such as the one above 'is often typically touted' by those who talk the talk (typical drollness) but who do not walk the walk.

So, science is only for those - 'astronomers and scientists' - who show typical drollness?

Science is supposed to be boring, hence, 'droll,' hence = no life?

Just where do they come up with such bunk?

Explaining away forces that truly exist, as if they are silly because 'astrologists' warn about unfavorable celestial events, is common fare coming from those who show disdain and bias about the prescience of astrology, that is, without knowing what they are talking about.

Forecasting is applied in nearly every sector of human activity, yet when astrologers forecast, why are things instantly tagged with chuckles, then grunts of 'scaring people,' and 'doom and gloom?'

I have yet to meet one astronomer, geologist, scientist, etc., who rolls their eyes at the mention of astrology who is sufficiently knowledgeable about the forecasting science.

Forecasts are made to prepare people for the potentials of what planetary configurations indicate to professional astrologers. That is our job. That is what we do.

It is the astrologer's duty to report their findings, not to frighten, but to help others, to provide, by hard-earned astrological knowledge, the awareness of the forces of the universe around us that affect all our lives here in Earth.

You will see more of those kinds of so-called 'objective' scientific comments on astrology in the days, weeks, months (and God help us) years to come.

But, consider this:

Any scientist who practices physics knows that even the smallest causes have big effects.

It is one of the core principles of astrophysics and geophysics.

Yet, why do some of today's 'scientific community' choose to ignore this fact?

The effects of the Moon in raising the land, air and sea tides have been scientifically studied - and proven - over many decades. But why do conventional scientists ignore this when it comes to astrology?

Here is a scientific paper, written in 1965 mind you, which provides clear evidence that precipitation is directly related to Solar-Lunar-Earth tidal forces.

The results of this scientific investigation had been found to be consistent with mathematical models that clearly reveal how even small periodic influences are of major importance in the timing of events.

Now that is just one scientific study, among thousands of scientific studies, that proves, without a doubt, the effects of celestial forces on Earth's physical world.

In effect, a 'no-brainer.'

Can we surmise that perhaps the problem many conventional scientists have is that they cannot get past their own personal dispositions, opinions and biases when it comes to astrological forecasting?

But, if one has not studied astrology, then how can one presume to have a bias on the science of any kind without extensive knowledge and practice?

Saying that the Moon is 'unrelated,' to physical events is not enough. That's opinion, and that is exactly what you are going to hear about the effects of the lunar perigees.

So when something does happen, you will hear from most scientists that it was simply 'predestined,' - which by the way, is not a scientific comment one should ever hear coming from any 'scientist.'

I do not use a crystal ball. I never met an astrologer who did. I use complex variable mathematics, observations and common sense to formulate my own calculations and forecasts - it is called mundane astrology.

Moreover, these same conventional scientists, who are unable to forecast themselves complain when astrologers are able to accomplish what they cannot?

Until conventional scientists leave behind their biases, egos, personal dispositions, careerism, piss poor attitudes and learn to practice science with an interdisciplinary/holistic focus, as serious astrologers do, then nothing will be gleaned by those who behave as if the Earth is flat.

So, let's grow up, get real and earn that scientific paycheck, shall we?

To those who do complain, I say this - read your Claudius Ptolemy, observe the astrological transits, the weather and do your homework.

I did.

During the entire month of March 2011 we can expect to hear of powerful earthquakes along the 'Ring of Fire.'

In March, look first to Asia for seismic action in the northern hemisphere - China and Japan, then to the Philippines, along to the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, to British Columbia, Canada, then to California in the United States, stretching down to Mexico and into South America.

With the global transits at hand, there are sure to be powerful, large magnitude earthquakes in the months of March and April.

My astrological calculations show a 88.9% rating for significant seismic activity between 6.6 to 7.9+ in magnitude.

There are additional planetary configuration signals I've interpreted that show even stronger quakes by scale - 8.9 to 9.2 in magnitude. Some people will not believe me, but transits are well within astrological red-zone warning range.

The Ring of Fire

The Moon is closer to the Earth, so along with the associated transits, especially those planetary bodies crossing over into tropical Aries, I expect frequent seismic activity with large magnitude earthquakes reported.

Lunar perigees bring land tides that spark large magnitude earthquakes, as well as volcanic eruptions.

There could also be a repeat of yet another seismic shock in the southern hemisphere, such as the 6.3-magnitude Feb. 21 earthquake which struck Christchurch, New Zealand.

That quake was forecasted, well in advance, by New Zealand astrometeorologist Ken Ring who has also warned of another seismic event there by March 20th, during the full moon perigee.

It is the weaknesses of fault lines, which can give way when the Moon-Earth tide is strong – so those living in regions of the world prone to seismic activity should always be prepared during astronomical events such as lunar perigees.

The inclinations on people – haste, over-emotionalism, fighting, and a lack of clarity, also are affected by the lunar transits.

In combination with the associated planetary transits, it is essential to remain calm while also being observant of the moods of others.

Before the full moon week, learn to work with the transits by planning out your calendar so that important meetings, dates and engagements can be scheduled during times of relative calm and favorable inclinations, rather than during unfavorable transits.

Full Moon, at 28-Pisces - March 19, 2011 7:08:27 p.m. – London, England
click on chart to enlarge

The full moon perigee rises in London, England on Saturday evening, March 19, 2011, at 7:08 p.m. This lunation is square to the lunar nodes in Sagittarius and Gemini, which border the Fourth and Tenth House of the Lunation Chart.

This shows stress for the full moon week and that Saturday night. The lunation is ‘mutable,’ and seeks to release its energies amid the strong cardinal positions of the planets.

It is wise to be patient and not to become so inclined to become impulsive or to force matters as this lunation is strong enough to encourage haste, accidents and violence.

Full Moon, at 27-Libra - April 17, 2011, 10:42:41 p.m., EDT, - New York, U.S.A.
click on chart to enlarge

The lunation of April 17, 2011 over New York City occurs on a Sunday evening. The major feature of this full moon are the collection of planets in the Fourth House, featuring a direct opposition from Mercury-Mars in Aries to Saturn in Libra.

Patience and calm is also called for as strong lunar perigees of this kind often lead to violence stemming from haste and again, impulse.

The month of April, already unfavorable when it comes to emotionalism, accidents and violence, requires people to think before acting and speaking and to use the month to relax and to repose, rather than to force issues.

Lunar perigees are also well-known by astrometeorologists for being associated with powerful storms and earthquakes.

The months of March/April 2011 and their lunar perigees will affect California, where seismic activity is highlighted both months.

April is particularly highlighted for powerful quakes.

I warn those living along the west coast of North America - in Alaska, British Columbia, down through the states of Washington, Oregon, California and into Mexico - to take precautions for large magnitude earthquakes.

New Moon: Sunday, April 3, 2011 - California
click chart to enlarge

April is a celestially strong month.

The New Moon of Sunday, April 3, 2011, set here for Los Angeles, California, shows all the astrological signatures of an active seismic month.

The Sign on the Fourth House cusp is Cancer, ruled by the Moon, at 13-Aries of this new moon. Opposed to Saturn, retrograde at 13-Libra, the new moon is only 25' minutes from exact opposition. Jupiter in Aries is also opposed to Saturn.

The Signs of Aries and Libra are intercepted inside the 6th and 12th Houses of the New Moon chart with the powerful Aries stellium rising.

Mars and Uranus are conjoined in Aries, and within orb of square aspects to the North Lunar Node in Sagittarius.

Therefore, the entire month of April features unfavorable transits featuring accidents, injuries, fires, and violence. Caution is advised.

April 3 to April 11 and April 16 to 20 show increased seismic activity.

The dates of *April 7,8,9,10 are particularly highlighted in my earthquake forecast for southern California and the U.S. west coast.

I urge those living in California to make preparations in advance of powerful earthquakes.

Full Moon: Sunday, April 17, 2011 - Los Angeles, California
click chart to enlarge

Seismic events are highlighted for New Moon Week of April 3-11, preceding the following lunar perigee and Full Moon Week of April 18-25.

What makes April 17 noticeable, and seismically active, is a strong lunar perigee with the Moon in Libra, just after conjunction to Saturn, itself retrograde at 17-Libra and in the Fourth Mundane House, at this locale of California.

Leading up to the lunar perigee, the days of April 16, *17, *18, *19, and 20 are also highlighted for strong earthquakes.

This Moon, on Sunday, April 17, in the chart above, is nearly full at 22-Libra and opposes both Mercury and Jupiter in Aries, while Mars in Aries opposes Saturn.

Transiting Venus, at 25-Pisces, is in conjunction to Uranus, with an applying square to Pluto in Capricorn.

Venus is square to the North Lunar Node at 26-Sagittarius, bordering the Sixth House of the chart, signifying a 'sudden' event that pushes people into 'action.'

Mercury is retrograde at this time at 14-Aries, in the Tenth, as part of a stellium of planets in Aries opposed to Saturn in the Fourth.

These are powerful transits, associated with the lunar perigee, can easily spark shallow and large magnitude earthquakes.

It is therefore advised for anyone living in California and along the west coast, to use the month of March to prepare emergency supplies and use caution in the event of a powerful earthquake.

Emergency Preparedness professionals are urged to update their earthquake management procedures and closely monitor seismic activity.

Act and think ahead, talk to neighbors and gain a sense of who is prepared and who is not.

Update all communications/shelter equipment, first-aid and food/water supplies.

Have all families members involved and on the same page on what to do in the event of a strong seismic event.

Be safe and remember - be prepared - not scared.
~

Overall, both ‘super moons’ of March and April require maturity, calm, preparation and insight to ward off the negative inclinations often brought about during the week and month of lunar perigees.

All in all, a wild spring season is in store for the northern hemisphere.

Let's take a look at more of what is ahead.

Please consider,

The Cardinal Crisis
April's Aries Stellium & Spring 2011
Angry, Anxious & Aggressive
Mundane Analysis
By Theodore White, mundane Astrolog.S

In this section, you will find my mundane analysis in two parts - an overall view, along with a general astrological guide for the months March 2011 to September 2011.

This is followed by astrologer Lynn Hayes' excellent advice on how to manage our personal lives in powerfully changing times.

Further down, you will also find astrologer Jude Cowell's mundane analysis of Washington D.C.'s Vernal Equinox Chart.

First, an overall mundane view.

We have seen the first phase of the Cardinal Crisis close in 2010, while a new chapter opens into another series of strong cardinal inclinations worldwide.

Early in the month of April, there will be a collection, or 'stellium' of planets in tropical Aries. This makes the month of April unfavorable with inclinations prone to haste, impulse and violence.

Many of the signs of emotional instability, mental illness and violence can be seen in the month of March.

Consider these events:

February "hit murders" in Colorado

Colorado boy murders family

Two children killed by uncle, who then kills self

Twin Brother Kills Own Family

Murder-suicide in Oklahoma

Juarez, Mexico murder rate up 40%

The inclinations of the planets show that it is important to mind the mental health of others due to the strength of the cardinal transits, especially in Aries.

Worldwide, it continues to be my estimation we are living in historic times.

All the planetary signatures confirm this.

The global events in the Middle East - signified by the January 4, 2011 partial solar eclipse in Capricorn - was a warning about coming events in this region of the world - however premature it may be due to the interference of a dying oligarchy and their baby boomer children, now at the end of their time as the establishment.

The crisis in this list of countries  – Algeria, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Yemen – all indicate that times are changing.

Supercomputers running multiple geopolitical, economic and social scenarios without knowing the mundane planetary transits - are useless and will yield nothing of value.

Those investing time trying to 'read the future' by way of human-created machines are better off learning to read planetary configurations, rather than wasting tens of millions of dollars on supercomputers whose algorithms are unable to forecast accurately.

Transits Over Afghanistan - New Moon, 3 April 2011
click on chart to enlarge

From the planetary configurations over Afghanistan, expect to hear of increased levels of violence as the war theater heats up in this region and in Pakistan.

Extreme care and caution is advised for NATO and U.S. forces, as unstable transits in Aries indicate an unprecedented rise in violence in both countries.

Military planning taking place in March must include safety precautions which protect against carelessness rising from inclinations which affect the emotions of those heavily armed.

Unintended casualties can easily peak from haste, impulse and carelessness - furthering threatening stability in these regions.

Weapons, machinery and electronic gear are subject to malfunctions under the planetary inclinations. These malfunctions can seriously maim and impair those operating such weapons, caution and prudence is advised.

Injuries, especially to the head, shoulders and neck can be prevented by taking prior action before these transits set in by March 30, 2011.

The anger, anxiousness and aggression signified by planets transiting in tropical Aries calls for prudence and patience.

We, as human beings, cannot stop worldwide transits.

Yet, this is exactly what an autocratic generation has been attempting to do – using bloodshed by repression in an effort to make time stand still?

World transits cannot be stopped, nor held back by the rule of force and bloodshed. Nor by ignorance, nor by placing one’s hands over one’s eyes.

For instance, one piece of the Cardinal Crisis planetary configurations – a Jupiter-Pluto cardinal square, became exact on February 25.

Jupiter Square Pluto, Manama, Bahrain
click on chart to enlarge

This global square features how coercion and power play tactics to promote one’s secularism and ideological entrenched beliefs onto others backfires.

Dishonest means to maintain status and power brings into open conflict against those who demand integrity, openness and strict honesty in all dealings.

Jupiter’s transit in tropical Aries square to Pluto in Capricorn features an aging establishment of arrogance and overweening pride whom not only neglect, but who also fail to see the bigger picture for the future.

This world square clearly shows sustained popular struggles against established and corrupted power bases which is amplified by the additional configurations which form the Cardinal Crisis transits.

The coming world transits of spring 2011 – especially those of April – show that radical change is on the astrological menu. There is no going back.

The collection of planetary transits in tropical Aries during the month of April feature headstrong and violent changes afoot by the very nature of the strong cardinal inclinations.

April’s transits show a collection of headstrong and impulsive manifestations that require prudence and patience.

Accidents and injuries are highlighted from April to mid-May 2011 due to the transits in tropical Aries.

Aries New Moon Stellium - April 3, 2011, Washington D.C.
click on chart to enlarge

Uranus enters tropical Aries officially on March 11-12. Worldwide, we can expect a diverse menu of events: from hostilities peaking in various nations, to the eruptions of volcanoes and continued seismic activity.

This inclination itself calls for thinking before acting as the sudden, electric and erratic inclinations of Uranus in Aries can alter lives for the worse if one is not careful.

The cardinal inclinations are those which cause people to rush without thinking and to act out impulsively – often with arrogance and hair-trigger anger.

Aries is also a very individualistic sign, so expect to observe immature behavior that leads to accidents.

Again, the antidote is patience. Avoid the inclination to forced to act merely on impulse, or to hurry.

The retrograde of Mercury in Aries from March 30 to April 23, then the continuance of Mercury’s shadow transit back to the point of 24-Aries by May 11-12 calls for review, repose and redoing of goals, plans and schedules.

Use caution in and around vehicles, with tools, weapons and machinery, as the inclinations are for serious malfunctions due to carelessness and impulsiveness.

Injuries to the head are likely from sudden accidents and violence. Again, caution is urged during the month of March and especially through the entire month of April and into May.

We look at the coming Jupiter opposition to Saturn, which occurs every 20 years on a worldwide scale.

Transiting Jupiter in Aries will oppose transiting Saturn in tropical Libra and is in exact aspect on March 28, 2011.

Jupiter Opposes Saturn - March 28, 2011, Manhattan, N.Y.
click on chart to enlarge

Jupiter-Saturn oppositions are mainly those which show that previous poor economic and financial decisions lead to very bad timing in professional and business affairs.

In my mundane review of the Cardinal Crisis, I maintained that this Jupiter-Saturn opposition, the first since 1989-90, would lead to a continued drop in international economic activity, a rise in commodity and energy prices, but with further declines in the gross domestic product (GDP) of various nations.

Economically, do not expect many job opportunities on a wide scale to become available in 2011 until we see significant changes in the status quo.

The financial crisis is still very much ongoing, and we continue to be well within the flow of the crisis that began in 2007, and which spiraled out of control in 2008.

Large investment banks as well as smaller banking institutions which participated heavily in doing business with Wall Street brokers are in serious trouble. This will continue to have deep ramifications for the business community and society at large.

Because of previous widespread economic, financial, corporate and political corruption, there are those using questionable strategies and tactics to try to expand on their own selfish interests.

Meanwhile, the lack of support from institutions created to help the general public leads to outrage among populations who then demand the removal of anyone implicated in running the status quo.

Jupiter and Saturn are also seen as ‘business’ planets in mundane astrology.

The opposition along the Aries-Libra axis features conflicts between professional and family responsibilities, as well as selfish motives and competition among entrenched groups and individuals in corporate and government settings.

It is not a good time for business expansion because of the likelihood of encountering lawsuits, barriers, red tape and financial crisis.

There is a severe lack of support from agencies and institutions because of ‘barrier bureaucracy’ and outworn establishment entrenchment.

Expect hypocrisy to rein during the first half of 2011 under such conditions.

A failure of the outgoing establishment to practice ethical and moral standards destroys important relationships and burns bridges that will have been important for the future.

I have been warning the Baby Boomer establishment for some time about their failure to connect the change in times to their neglect and corruption of management.

The hegemony practiced by the boomer generation, along with the autocratic tendencies of their parents, the dying oligarchy, dismissed and rejected the motion of time. Both generations are rapidly aging and losing clout.

This has led to fragmentation.

This fragmentation does not bode well for the future of the Boomer generation as the generations behind them are very upset at the breaking of the inter-generational contract and hegemonic attitude of the Baby Boomer generation and a dying oligarchy.

The irreverent culture by the Boomer generation has led to levels of immaturity, corruption, neglect and greed as to boggle the mind.

Again - refusal to accept the passage of time and aging - has led to a dysfunctional generation that has damaged society at large.

The lack of practicality and spirituality by this generation has led to a cultural emptiness that has caused widespread resentment among younger generations under the age of 50 who feel the Boomer generation and the oligarchy have been stealing resources which do not belong to them.

There is a payback coming for this refusal to accept the passage of time.

The world transits clearly show it.

There was a time – specifically 12 years ago – when the Boomer generation had the opportunity not to fall into their own trap of dysfunction and delusions about the passage of time and aging.

That time is now gone and cannot be got back.

The forces of the totality of the Cardinal Crisis transits – with this year’s Jupiter-Saturn opposition playing its role - therefore features widespread conflicts, as forecasted, as a result.

Politically, there is an imbalance between those who hold optimistic and open views against those who hold conservative and liberal perspectives. The uncompromising and unyielding attitude of conservatives is not a healthy fit for the times.

Ideology based on political views often fails to see the bigger picture.

For instance, the economic crisis itself came as a direct result of widespread generational corruption; yet there are those who believe the real cause was because of ‘unions’ or ‘liberal policies’ - when the true culprit has been corporate/economic/political cronyism along with massive levels of fraudulent activity.

The coming transits of the Twenty-Tens show there is a heavy price to pay for all this.

The ideologies, secularism and ulterior motives of established groups and individuals within educational, social, financial and political settings adversely affect partnerships, friendships and relationships under the cardinal crisis world transits.

Jupiter’s opposition to Saturn plays an important role in the cardinal crisis configurations. The opposition indicates a period of sustain conflicts between what is right and what is wrong.

It pits those who have ethical and moral values against those who are corrupted, immoral and unethical in all important areas of bureaucratic, corporate, economic, social and political governance.

Again, there is a heavy price to pay in the future for those who fail to come to terms with doing what is right.

The best way to work with the Cardinal Crisis transits is to do what is right.

Accepting change by openness and flexibility is the standard-bearer of all mature societies. When any establishment takes on a hegemonic stance and refuses change that is when serious trouble begins.

And, it has begun.

Those who have been entrenched in their many years of corruption and outright thievery of resources have been doing all they can to maintain the ‘status quo.’

This simply makes things worse under the Cardinal crisis transits.

Transits of planets in cardinal Signs signify the initiation of change.

Cardinal signs seek action and desires new beginning to take place – ready or not.

The failure of entrenched establishments and their status quo cannot expect to remain the same because the cardinal inclinations will simply not allow this to happen.

The cure is to accept change and to admit failure to launch.

By refraining to do so – that is – by not wanting to see, nor admit any fault, one is only making things worse by continuing to resist that which is obvious.

And that is change.

When any establishment fixates with their status quo, their hegemony, under such cardinal forces, the results are always widespread conflicts, rebellions and revolts - and that is exactly what the world can expect to witness until the outgoing establishment is brought to an end – ready or not.

Moreover, under the effects of the Jupiter-Saturn opposition, whatever assistance one can expect to receive in years down the line from those who desire ethical and moral values, also mean they have memories - and will not allow prior acts to go unpunished.

In the coming years, the Cardinal Crisis transits continue, Mars will square Jupiter and Jupiter will oppose Pluto as Uranus squares Jupiter and Pluto.

Astrologers know this as a 'grand cross.'

This one will revolve around the world and is powerfully cardinal.

Cardinal Grand Cross - Spring 2014, Washington D.C.
click chart to enlarge

This cardinal 'grand cross' depicted in the mundane chart above is three (3) years away.

The world transits of 2014, in the form of a grand cardinal cross configuration, shows that the problems of the previous establishment and oligarchy are still with us - in the form of outright societal anger and revolt - at the massive theft of resources, secrecy, neglect and widespread corruption which ushered in a severe global economic crisis.

If you think people are pissed now, wait until 2014, when they absolutely lose it.

Jupiter opposes Pluto. Uranus opposes Mars. Jupiter squares Uranus. Mars squares Pluto. Uranus squares Pluto. All of this, from the cardinal Signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.

This grand cardinal cross is serious business.

It shows people are simply in no mood to see those who perpetuated the biggest fraud in world economic history allowed to 'walk away' from taking full responsibility for their acts during the previous decade.

Many populations want 'heads to roll,' and will not stand for allowing those involved to skate free with untold billions of dollars in wealth taken from the resources of others.

So, in 2011, and over the next three years, I continue to urge investors to be prudent and to conduct due diligence when dealing with the likes of JP MorganChase, Goldman Sachs, CitiBank and other national and international bank holding companies - as they have serious internal capital problems on their books.

The years of widespread financial malfeasance, corruption, greed and lack of law enforcement and regulation on Wall Street and throughout the global financial community has directly led to the world economic depression.

The cardinal crisis in this respect  is far from over according to my calculations.

Expect the years of 2011 to 2014 to be full of more shocking revelations about how the economic crisis came into being and those individuals, groups and organizations who have been behind all of it.

The great majority of these events are generational, as we will explore further in this edition; however, the cardinal crisis years clearly show that until those responsible for the widespread corruption are held directly responsible, are punished and removed from any contact with economics and finances - that the economic crisis will get worse, not better, in the years ahead.

Moreover, during the early to mid- Twenty-Tens, transiting Uranus will perform a world square, also to Pluto – clearly showing that those who participated in years of hegemony and corruption have a reckoning coming - with their own chosen destinies.

The effects of the dramatic changes about have had major impacts on the lives of hundreds of millions of people worldwide.

There are antidotes for the inclinations of the cardinal crisis transits for individuals who seek to offset the effects on them personally. I offer some remedies here for those who are interested.

Please consider if you will,

The Cardinal Transits
by Theodore White, mundane Astrolog.S

The transits of the Cardinal Crisis will affect a wide variety of people worldwide.

Let's take a 10-minute mundane overview so those who are unfamiliar with these cardinal planetary inclinations can gain a sense of the bigger picture.

People with planetary positions in the signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn can effectively handle strong planetary inclinations in the cardinal signs if they remember a few simple things and practice them daily.

Any and all events which are attracted in lives also come from the activities of your own thought cells which comprise your astral, or stellar body, which is made of light.

The positions of the planets in your nativity show the outline of your own stellar aerials, those particular terminals of planetary positions, configurations, angles, and aspects between the bodies in the time cycle you were born.

These 'cycles' do progress in time, so knowing what your current and future secondary progressions are is important.

The stellar cells that comprise your whole physical and metaphysical bodies are seen in your own personal horoscope, the conditions of which determined where you were born, into what era, and the environment in which you were raised.

Each structure of a person's own stellar cell make-up is unique, however groups of people, family, friends, those of your generation, may share similar planetary alignments.

These are mainly 'transpersonal,' that is the positions of the outer, slower-moving planets over time.

Your own unique stellar cell makeup has an intelligence all its own.

It receives, by transit and secondary progression, 'contacts' from transiting planets that will 'tune in' to your particular frequencies, as depicted in your personal horoscope.

The effects are electromagnetic in nature and when these planetary contacts are made by aspect they work from your 'inner plane' to attract into your life events and conditions which will correspond to the way you feel.

This is why your thoughts are very important.

When your personal planets, by nativity or secondary progression do not receive any additional energies the will only retain the amount and type of activity that is shown in the birth chart.

But when your stellar cells do receive energy from transiting planets or your thoughts, then these vibrations receive additional energy that is greater than normal.

This is the case with the cardinal crisis world transits.

Those individuals, groups, and populations of people who may have planetary positions at certain degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, are receiving large amounts of energy to their particular stellar aerials.

Childhood conditioning, along with the current atmosphere of your present environment and locale play roles as well.

If you were born in conditions that you are now aware of how it shaped your outlook and personality, then it is imperative to understand how your own thoughts can produce events that are either positive or negative.

Certain groupings of stellar cells will receive more energy from the transits of planets in the cardinal signs.

How you 'react' to these vibrations depends mainly on your outlook and ability to transcend past conditioning in order to produce positive outcomes, rather than negative ones.

Without getting too technical for those who are not advanced in this level of astrology, the thing is this -

All astrological aspects show what I call 'time-velocity transits.'

These are planetary groupings by configuration and their mathematical aspects that release energies to a person's (or a nation's) particular stellar make-up - as outlined by the horoscope.

Contacts by planetary 'return' or aspect can bring about structural changes to the astral body that enable your stellar cells to receive more energy than normal from transits and secondary progressions.

These are electromagnetic energies and are tonal as well, for those who can hear, see and feel the changes of input/output. Usually, those who are able to do this are called 'sensitives.'

These energies 'tune in' to your particular Type, to your own stellar make-up and from your own terminal aerials.

You act as a 'radio receiver' of sorts, picking up increased signals that tune into your own natal and progressed positions, or your personal stellar frequencies.

The structural changes work to enable the planets to give impetus towards action and they work from within your own 'inner plane weather' - to being about events of certain kinds into the 'outer plane weather' - into the physical world.

Most people can find themselves unable to handle the increased energies to their own personal frequencies and therefore 'act out,' which is a sure sign that they have not resolved their own inner issues.

To accomplish this, it is essential to remove those things which have not been resolved within your own self. You can be supported in this by others, but no one can make it happen except you.

It is called 'owning your own personal issues.'

The sooner these issues are resolved, the better, because if it is not done by the time configurations of planetary transits tune in to your own planetary frequencies, as outlined by your horoscope, in the unique time cycle you were born, then transits will externalize your internal 'issues' into your physical reality. You can bet on it.

Your thoughts and words are essential to manage whatever energies are being picked up.

The problem with the Cardinal Crisis world transits is that the planetary configurations are quite strong - producing an inordinate amount of energy that revolves around the globe.

Anyone, including populations, who are ignorant of the power of their own thoughts and words will usually act out - primarily in negative ways.

Moreover, as the cardinal energies increase and contact the stellar makeup of people, they can, and do recycle anything left unresolved within themselves - into the physical environment.

This is why it is very important to be mature and to deal with, tackle, and face any unresolved issues within yourself.

If delayed, put off and/or never dealt with, then when strong planetary transits do come along - it forces anything within you to be faced - in the outer plane, this is, in the physical world via events.

Whenever I read any horoscope, I always see what kind of 'weather' exists, i.e., is it calm and clear, or cloudy and wet. Is it warm and dry, hot, cold, or stormy?

Reading personal horoscopes shows clearly what a person needs to deal with to effectively reduce the amount of events that can appear in any time cycle within their own physical environment.

This often means forcing the client to face and deal with the issues within themselves - before coming transits make them face by contact with their own stellar aerials.

The problem with the Cardinal Crisis transits is that they are as 'personal' as they are 'transpersonal,' in the sense that global issues which have remained 'unresolved,' either by neglect, or outright interference by others, can become problems for all.

So, what is 'global' becomes 'personal' and what is 'personal' can become 'global.'

The waning and waxing cycles of the outer planets are important in the cycles studied by mundane astrologers, and essential towards understanding the bigger picture, which is transpersonal, or global.

The difficulty is in resolving the 'global,' since most people do not have access to the corridors of power that are mainly inhabited by people with some serious 'personal problems' of their own, which they then make 'global' by their own ego, ignorance and failure to deal with their 'issues'' within themselves.

The Cardinal Crisis world transits will be with us for some time.

These cardinal energies are powerful and seek 'change by action,' but if change does not come, usually positive change, then frustrations build that then perverts the energies into malefic form, leading to accidents, estrangements, and death.

The transits of the outer planets over the decades have been studied by mundane astrologers who use a system called the 'cyclic index,' - a mundane index that shows the trends and effects of global transits on the mass psychology of populations.

The cures for the cardinal crisis transits are those that come from 'thoughts.' Most people are unaware of the power of their own thoughts, but, if you are able to clear away the past by resolving from within - then you effectively 'empower' yourself.

By clearing any baggage - resolved or not - and deleting it thoroughly, you remove those things transits work on to bring about as events in physical environment.

This is not some 'new age' kind of thinking. These are facts.

Every square foot of our world is filled with astrological electromagnetic forces of action. I forecast the weather - both 'inner plane' and 'outer plane' weather - by the fluctuations of magnetic forces.

Magnetic forces are all around you.

For instance, an Aries experiencing the Cardinal transits will feel the need to greatly individualize themselves by action.

This can be a positive thing or a negative thing, depending on what is within that person. If a person has fully dealt with their own inner plane issues, then they will be free to express themselves without the need for violence.

Anyone with position in Libra experiencing the Cardinal transits will feel the need to actualize themselves by way of others in action.

This can be positive or negative, depending on what is within that person. If they have dealt with the past and with their own inner plane issues, then they will be free to express themselves without the need for fear.

Our thoughts have power. This is one of the most important things to remember when we have any feeling that we express.

The world trends over the decade of the Twenty-Tens calls on everyone to be aware that we are living in historic times.

Gnosis is essential to save oneself from the forces that can bind a soul without its permission.

Therefore, when we are alive in the world, there is no more important matter than to achieve gnosis - for without it - all is lost.

Cures for The Cardinal Crisis
By
Theodore White, mundane Astrolog.S

Cure For Mars = Cultivate Maternal Domestic Thoughts & Words

Mars is active in Aries during the months of April and May 2011. In early April, as Mars conjoins Uranus in tropical Aries, the unfavorable effects are those that involve accidents, impulsiveness, haste, hurrying about and violence.

These are things which require patience – the cure is calm and maternal Domestic Thoughts.

For most of April 2011, transiting Venus will be in tropical Pisces, so women are useful here in helping not to encourage strife – but to calm things down – as it will also work in the interest of others.

The maternal attitude, with calming words, smiles and actions which come from it, can generate enough of thought elements required to induce pleasure.

It forms a compound to the aggressive thoughts of the energies produced by Mars to effectively prevent violence.

Exposure to danger, of fighting and producing strife is common to Mars, especially in tropical Aries. At times, situations are forced upon others where self-protection is a must.

So, the ideal way to avoid strife is to be prepared.

Fight resolutely only if you must, but only do so in cases of self-defense of yourself and others. Facing the inclinations of Mars is done best while calm but with courage, as this is the best way to handle and properly channel the influences of Mars.

Because Mars is considered to be a ‘social planet’ in mundane astrology, much of the action involving Mars in the Cardinal Crisis will come in groups of people.

So it is essential to practice proper manners to keep good relations.

Take care with the things said and mind your words so as not to spark the discordant energies of Mars – especially in combination with Uranus.

Uranus’ inclinations are directly to the nerve currents, and with Mars in play in Aries, anger can rise easily to snap suddenly in violence against others – and can spread quickly to disperse the energy in wide format.

You may notice strong male negative energies of individuals in crowds of people, say in bars, at clubs, concerts, demonstrations, etc., may be tense, so it is important to not say or do things that may cause instant offense as individuals are bound to act out – sometimes violently.

Aggression comes easily to persons under the influence of Mars, again, especially in a Sign like Aries. Often, all it takes is a wrong word, or act, to open up the path to direct conflicts.

The maternal Domestic Thoughts of helping others and exercising patience can displace the hard thought elements produced by Mars toward strife.

Cure For Jupiter = cultivate 'Intellectual Thoughts'

Jupiter’s transits as part of the Cardinal crisis transits can be unfavorable when problems like extravagance, unwillingness to be practical, and self-indulgence play roles during configurations like Jupiter’s opposition to Saturn and Jupiter’s square to Pluto.

Most of the negative matters associated with the unfavorable configurations that involve Jupiter will attract into the life situations where carelessness and relying too much on the opinions of others bring problems into the life.

The position of Jupiter by angle, or house in the natal position and progressions will show the areas highlighted, as well the aspects to and from Jupiter by position and transit.

Jupiter is a ‘business’ planet in astrology. This means finances are highlighted and will require attention.

Because of the problems of the overall economic climate in the world, most people are trying to discover ways to emerge out of the financial crisis that became serious worldwide in 2007-08.

The problems associated by unfavorable aspect to Jupiter will bring about a lack of intelligence to discern the difference between what is favorable and what is unfavorable.

The cure is the cultivation of Intellectual Thoughts. Take pleasure in using your intelligence to carefully analyze and appraise how you apply methods in every financial and business transaction.

Doing so converts these thought compounds into positive events.

Cure For Saturn = cultivate healthy 'Social Thoughts'

Saturn’s transit in Libra, where it is exalted, can incline people to feel as if a dark cloud is over them. The vibrations of Saturn can be self-centered, and heavy.

The energies do not produce harmony and tend towards inflexibility. Therefore, it is necessary when under the influence of Saturn’s transits to cultivate happy thoughts and words towards others.

Saturn will produce a negative need to safeguard what one sees as one’s own interest with delusions that others want what you have - but what is really happening is the affliction of Saturn causes negative fears that have not been resolved within.

Saturnian thoughts are those that weigh down a personality, so much so that the tendency to worry and/or take exception to others is so prevalent that any activity in any area of life will lack in buoyancy – being inflexible - thus attracting ‘loss’ and ‘want’ and ‘heavy responsibility.’

The cure is an all-out effort to encourage and cultivate Social Thoughts.

These mainly are of the positive octave of Venus, where being light, bright, happy and positive while being open-minded and friendly to others causes the Saturnian-heaviness to greatly dissipate and then dissolve.

Saturn’s encourage of ‘want’ of ‘economy through financial loss’ and ‘being safe’ because of ‘fear’ can be so heavy on people as to sap their energy, while at the same time putting others off simply because the person has become unattractive by way of Saturn’s affliction.

The stellar cell structure of Social Thoughts means to consciously decide to do the opposite of what Saturn’s affliction inclines, and to deal with the inner strife by way of mixing with happy people who are of a light-hearted and positive perspective.

Take part in expressing yourself in light-hearted ways: dance, laugh, be friendly and above all - avoid people who seek contention, or whom use social situations to act out as spoiled children. Work to immediately remove such individuals from the environment if they are unable to behave as mature and balanced individuals.

The negative energies of those who behave badly poisons any atmosphere where people need balance, lightheartedness, positivity and good feelings to predominate in the environment.

The thoughts of happiness produced by way of this conscious effort attracts others rather than repel them and transforms the morose Saturn inclinations into a dynamism that makes one cheerful rather than angry, spoiled and depressed.

It is essential to spend more time with people who are of a positive outlook, no matter the overall social negativity.

Anyone who is self-absorbed, egotistical, spoiled, prone to negativity, pettiness and rudeness should be isolated and kept from the environment to prevent their negative inclinations from poisoning the atmosphere.

Cure for Uranus = cultivate 'Spiritual Thoughts'

Uranus’ entry into tropical Aries can produce ‘electric’ and ‘sudden’ impulses that act out in the nature of Mars.

There is no denying how strong Uranus’ inclination forms - usually by way of the actions of others. The electromagnetic vibrations via angle, position and aspect in contact with this transpersonal planet acts mainly on the nervous system.

Unstable emotions, stemming from the unresolved matters of life are affected by contact with Uranus to the stellar cells of the astral and physical body – mainly from stress that produces high levels of tension.

The inclinations of Uranus will be very active during the decade of the Twenty-Tens, therefore it is essential to think before taking action, and to avoid impulsive persons as to protect oneself from becoming hurt by the actions of others.

Frustrations, impulsive, hasty behavior and mental illness can result if balance is not sought by the application of religious or Spiritual Thoughts.

Not all problems are able to be worked out through intellect alone. The harmony produced by cultivating Spiritual Thoughts adds a healthy compound to the discordant energies produced by Uranus.

Ideology - be they class divisions, cliques, political or religious - should be seen as poison to those seeking to achieve balance.

In this way, know who your friends are and leave behind those people who are not friends, or who exhibit emotional and mental problems that they do not own themselves, but project onto others.

Avoid falling into the deep abyss of self-directed and maintained depression - which basically is an excuse not to allow the universe to work for you.

Spiritual Thoughts need not be tied to a particular ‘religion’ per se, but simply are thoughts that appreciate the mysteries of the universe.

These are thoughts of repose, of relaxation, of calm, of seeing and accepting the ‘bigger picture’ so as to put things into their proper context.

Uranus in Aries is mainly individualistic, so expect to feel and observe in others expressions which are unique and that can open the door to new possibilities and exciting ideas which can change the life.

Be aware that Uranus' inclinations can be 'sudden' and 'electric' and which can drain one's energy, so it is important to pace oneself so you are not drained of energy by force of expression.

Also, be disciplined, patient, and resist the urge towards impulse and too much spontaneity all in one setting. Uranus' inclinations can easily cause people to expend too much energy, leaving one drained by the experience.

Cure For Pluto = cultivate Domestic & Positive Aggressive Protection Thoughts

Pluto’s transit in tropical Capricorn is transpersonal as like the other outer, slower-moving planets, its inclinations and effects are wide-ranging.

This planet also affects the nerve currents – of entire organizations and governments as well.

The transpersonal energies of Pluto are transforming and in Capricorn, will tend to lean towards the atmosphere of Saturn, which can be depressing, heavy, controlling and altogether dark.

Dealings with criminals, crime bosses, mafias, racketeers and those who are heading into direct perdition should be avoided.

Any contact with those who perpetuate evil is like standing close to a person, groups, an organization that primed for lightning strikes. It is best to back far, far away.

Particular levels of discernment should be used when in proximity to those under the inclinations of Pluto – dealing with those of questionable character and situations where coercion to commit crimes should be avoided at all cost.

The Aggressive and Domestic Thoughts are useful here to counter-act the influences of Pluto in Capricorn.

Like a fierce mother bear protecting her cubs from harm, there is nothing more fearful to evildoers than to know that they may lose their own heads should they act or plan to hurt you and those close to you.

It is well-known that the only thing evil-doers respect is strength - so cultivating Aggressive & Domestic Thoughts such as ‘Don’t’ Tread On Me’ - directed at those who may try to inflict harm on you and others - are natural antidotes to Pluto’s inclinations.

These antidotes will be helpful for those who apply them, as we now look at the planetary transits of Spring through Autumn 2011.

The Cardinal Crisis
April's Aries Stellium & Spring 2011
The Economy, Jobs & Society
Mundane Review Cycle:
March to September 2011

Forecast By Theodore White, mundane Astrolog.S

Going into the month of April, there are a collection of planets - called a stellium - that are oriental, that is, the planets rise in the east as they cross into and transit the Sign of tropical Aries.

These planetary configurations clearly show anger, aggression and stress, as Aries is known for inclinations which can being about aggression, impulsiveness and violence.

Aries Stellium - April 3, 2011 - New York City
click on horoscope to enlarge

This chart is for Sunday, April 3, 2011, at sunrise in New York City, just a couple of hours before the new moon at occurs at 13-Aries.

The previous Saturday night of April 2, 2011 clearly shows violent tendencies and events, with Mars conjoined to Lilith and Uranus at 1-Aries, as the last quarter 'dark of the moon' is also in Aries before the new moon arrives later Sunday morning.

Transits Of Saturday Night, April 2, 2011
 click chart to enlarge

That Saturday night is not the best night to be 'out on the town,' as the Aries configurations are quite stark here, again, showing aggressive, violent acts along with serious accidents on the roadways.

Law enforcement finds itself busy with a diversity of problems ranging from increased incidents of domestic violence to those associated with violent robberies to fighting at bars and clubs.

Associated with this are the frustrations of populations with the economic decline and high unemployment rates which has stressed out large swaths of many countries, states, cities and counties.

Aries is an individualistic cardinal sign that seeks action and improvements. Where there are none to be found, these energies turn inward as frustration and express themselves outwardly into acts of aggression and violence.

The cure is patience and thoughtfulness.

These transits, though strong, incline, but they do not compel. Those who fall under these inclinations will be those who are immature and unable to control themselves and their emotions, leading to impulsive acts that can maim and kill.

Again, caution and prudence is urged.

The Aries stellium configuration, that will revolve worldwide, shows how the coming new moon at 13-Aries, conjoined to Jupiter at 15-degrees Aries, will oppose Saturn at 13-Libra:

The effects of the long winter season in the northern hemisphere coupled with the recent vernal equinox shows instability and lack of balance emotionally and mentally. Frustrations abound due to the poor economic climate and lack of opportunities. People generally inclined tend to act out because they feel they have been wronged, while not allowed to fully express themselves.

The overall Jupiter-Saturn opposition will be in effect for most of 2011 and into early 2012, when it begins to ease off.

The last quarter 'dark of the Moon' at 7-Aries is square to Pluto in Capricorn on Saturday night, April 2 and indicates:

Strong emotional feelings that can erupt, mainly due to frustrations along with the failure to resolve inner emotional problems. Conflicts can occur within the domestic sphere with arguments based on attempts to emotional force and dominate others. Sometimes the home is disrupted by larger-scale forces close by, and/or by violence to and from family members. The Moon-Pluto square is cardinal and because it occurs during the dark of the moon phase, patience is required to avoid falling under its inclinations.

Mars conjoined to Lilith and Uranus at 1-Aries indicates:

Desires for independence and action at all costs. impulsiveness is at high levels. Strong desires to change and alter the status quo with rebelliousness and disruptive events that could lead to serious injury and death. This stellium of Mars-Lilith-Uranus is more than likely to coincide with the death of acquaintances and friends. Weapons and sharp objects are used to settle 'scores' while vehicles are driven recklessly leading to serious accidents causing injury and death.

The entire month of April 2011 is highlighted as being unfavorable.

The important thing to remember about the Aries Stellium transits of April 2011 is to exercise prudence and patience.

However, since it is obvious that there will be many people who will act out, my advice is to avoid anyone who shows signs of immaturity and impulsiveness.

With all the bad economic news out there in the world, I would like to highlight – month-by-month - the transits of this new astrological year, so that anyone looking to improve their personal, family and career situation, can have a fighting chance.

The vernal equinox chart for the start of the new astrological year of 2011 is not a very positive chart I’m afraid to say.

Many of the changes to take place will continue along the lines of the deepest economic crisis since the Great Depression. This will require people to make significant adjustments in their lives in order to survive.

The general guidance offered here is based on my mundane review of transits. In my estimation, the year 2011 is a year of opportunity, but amid continuing struggle - as one era and establishment comes to its end, and another era and new establishment begins.

Those expecting ‘instant’ success are bound to be disappointed, as the economic mess created took years to get into. It will therefore take years to emerge out from.

The pressures on individuals, families, and on professional and career lives will, sadly, continue unabated through 2011 – especially for those who lived far beyond their means over the last 11-12 years.

However, there will be new and unexpected positive changes for those keen on helping themselves and others move into the new decade of the Twenty-Tens.

The important thing to remember is to pace oneself while also applying your skills, creativity, energy and passion to forge a new way forward; while navigating around those who prefer to hold things back.

Think clearly about the things you want and then look for them in your physical surroundings. It is also important to avoid those who only want to keep the status quo, for these are the very people who help create the mess, who fear the future – rather than embrace it fully.

One of the keys toward making your way through 2011 is to believe in yourself.

Another key is to understand and know the deeper reasons behind the changes in the economy, society and to avoid surface-feeders, ideologues and users of vitriolic language who do not have your interests in mine – but merely their own.

There simply is no time for all of that as the transits of the Twenty-Tens demands seriousness and attention to what is most important.

The planetary transits and their configurations in 2011 clearly show major change is on tap for many millions of people worldwide.

It has always been my mundane belief that the Twenty-Tens – the Cardinal Crisis years – would be historic, not only for populations at large, but also for individual lives as well.

Transits for the Economy this year indicate slow improvement in some sectors with continuing declines in other sectors. Until private employers get back to the business of production, the overall economy will not improve.

The general point is this – do not expect the depressed economic conditions to improve overall - considering the depth and length of the prior ‘work’ which produced the deep economic decline in the first place.

Job production will remain anemic at best, that is, until the outgoing establishment is removed from decision-making. Employers see no reason to hire workers with inventories high but with demand at low levels.

The job vacancies that are out there often have several layers of intense competition that exacerbates the success of obtaining a good-paying position. Again, much of this is generational, and until that problem is resolved - unemployment rates will remain in double-digits.

The next three-and-one-half years ahead – to late-2014 – will see slow, but gradual economic growth, according to my astrological calculations.

There are more economic shocks ahead. Many former job positions will not return due to the outgoing establishments’ total neglect and rampant mismanagement of the economy-at-large over the last 19 years.

What this means for the many millions of unemployed under the age of 50 is to discover and create your own opportunities while the overall economy heals. This will take time, but will not happen overnight.

The severe economic stresses on states, cities, and counties clearly show that until younger people are able to work and produce, that the overall economy will continue to suffer tremendously.

No economy in the history of the world can be sustained by aged workers over the age of 65. These are the facts of life.

Younger workers produce, and they do so with energy. That is the clear road back to economic health.

Until policymakers clearly understand this and turn their full attention to Generation X, and Generation Y – the overall economy and society will continue its slide right into the toilet.

People who are practical and realistic will use the next 3-4 years to update and improve on their skills and talents in preparation for the time when the new economy yields more opportunities, but that time will not arrive until, at best, until the end of the year 2014.

The months highlighted below - from March 2011 to September 2011 - clearly show that in order to make your way safely through the first seven (7) months of 2011, that it is important to be creative, patient and constantly ready to make adjustments in these transitional times.

Vernal Equinox – California, Sunday, March 20, 2011, 4:20:44 p.m., PDT
click chart to enlarge

This chart for California shows the Sun entering 00-Aries on March 20, 2011, setting in the western skies.

The main feature of this vernal equinox chart is the Moon-Saturn conjunction in Libra, taking place in the Second House of Finances and Money.

Both Moon-Saturn oppose Mercury and Jupiter in Aries, in the Eighth House, another financial house.

The Second House is Virgo in this vernal equinox chart, ruled by Mercury, which indicates that dreadful poverty rates will continue to rise for the year on the west coast as California has been plundered by the outgoing establishment.

The forecast for California is for deeper budget cuts and continued rises in unemployment. People are taking action and making their own adjustments.

MARCH 2011

The month holds the best transits before the Aries stellium of April.

What the month of March offers to those willing to get a head start are opportunities to avoid the coming Mercury retrograde of March 30th.

This retrograde will act to slow the month of April significantly enough as to cause further disruptions along with the Aries transits.

March is best used to get most of your travel and work done ahead of April's unfavorable transits. Relocation, prepping for the spring and early summer are best accomplished in March, rather than from April to mid-May.

This means making deadlines and avoiding any tendency to procrastination. March is a month to work and get things done to avoid the Mercury retrograde and unfavorable transits of April.

Significant Transits Of March 2011
  • March 2 - Venus enters Aquarius
  • March 3 – Lunar Nodes change quality to mutable Sagittarius-Gemini axis
  • March 4 – New Moon at 13-degrees Pisces
  • March 9 - Mercury enters Aries
  • March 11-12 – Uranus officially tropical Aries
  • March 13 - Daylight Savings Time Begins
  • March 20 - Sun enters Aries - vernal equinox
  • March 26-27 - Venus enters Pisces
  • March 28 – Jupiter opposes Saturn, exact opposition
  • March 30 – Mercury stations retrograde at 24 degrees Aries
  • March 31 - Jupiter semi-square Neptune
The first 15 days of March are best. By March 24, transiting Mercury begins to slow down, in preparation for its station to retrograde by March 30.

The month of March can be applied well by those who have spent the winter season in the northern hemisphere, or the summer season in the southern hemisphere to act on their goals and aspirations.

Watch and mind weather conditions, as March will be a wet and somewhat stormy month with conditions ranging from temperature variations that can bring about thunderstorms, heavy rains, gusting winds and tornado activity.

I recommend March be used to get the equivalent of two (2) months work, done since the entire month of April is unfavorable.

The major ingresses, or entry of the Lunar Nodes onto the Sagittarius-Gemini axis opens a new 18.5 month cycle that lasts to the end of August 2012.

The ingress, or entry of Uranus into Aries by March 11-12 reflects the ending of a 42-year cycle that began in 1969.

This is another major astrological turning point that takes place in the month of March.

APRIL 2011

This month is seen as unfavorable because of transits. There is a collection of planets in Aries, some of which will come to oppose Saturn in Libra later in the month.

The Aries Stellium of April contain strong, fiery and aggressive inclinations by planetary transit and aspect. These will work by conjunction, square and opposition to the Signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.

The Earth, as it transits the constellation Libra, will conjoin Saturn during the first week of April. The rest of the planets are on the other side of the Sun, in opposition to the Earth, so the Saturnian inclinations will be strong.

The month of April requires patience, prudence and calm in order to easily navigate and maneuver through the planetary inclinations well enough unscathed.

Moreover, the Mercury retrograde that began on March 30th will dominate much of the month of April. Mercury will station direct on April 23, but will not return to the degree of its retrograde until May 12.

This will make the month of April slow-going and frustrating for those coming out of a hard winter season.

Moreover, it is well-known among mundane astrologers that the days and weeks prior to and after the vernal equinox in the northern hemisphere, that some people have a hard time adjusting to the shift of seasons and the equalization of the Earth's tilt.

This often results in accidents on the road, along with aggressive tendencies as people attempt to re-balance themselves after the winter season.

Acts of frustration, impulse and haste work in combination with the Aries stellium of transits.

Some of the planets, like Mars, head towards an opposition to Saturn in Libra by the third week of April - compounding the impulsive and aggressiveness in the air, and at times, leading to the violent inclinations associated with Aries.

Therefore, use the month of April to mid-May to rest, review and relax. It is not a month to be in crowds, or to engage in physical activity that could lad to injury.

Though many people will surely find it difficult to rest and relax after the unusually active winter season, this is exactly what they should do in April according to the planetary inclinations.

Transits of April 2011
  • April 2 – Mars enters tropical Aries
  • April 2 – Mars conjoins Uranus in Aries
  • April 3 – New Moon in Aries
  • April 3 – Saturn conjoins Earth
  • April 6 – Jupiter conjoins Sun in Aries
  • April 9 – Mercury, inferior conjunction with Sun
  • April 4 – Mars heads north by declination
  • April 4 - Neptune previews with entry into Pisces
  • April 9 – Uranus heads north by declination
  • April 9 – Pluto stations retrograde at 7-Capricorn
  • April 11 – Mercury conjoins Jupiter
  • April 20 - Sun enters tropical Taurus
  • April 23 – Mercury stations direct at 12-Aries
April is also a month of accidents and violence due to the stellium, or grouping of planets in Aries.

The month is not good for travel nor for taking chances in long-distance relocation. It is best to do this in March, or, to wait until mid-May.

Use caution on the roads as accidents are bound to occur because of aggressive drivers and carelessness. Wear seat-belts when traveling in vehicles, be a patient driver and watch the roads for speeding cars and trucks.

The configurations of planets incline people towards hurrying and rushing about – which under the Aries can lead to unintended serious accidents, especially to the head, shoulders and neck.

All of the planetary motions and their configurations makes April an unfavorable month, again, it is advised to use the month of March to complete anything one would like to do in April.

Again, caution is urged.

May 2011

This month sees a slight easing of the negative transits of April and allows for better movement for those looking to make changes. The second half of May is better than the first.

May is a heady month. People want immediate change, but frustrations abound coming out of April's transits and Mercury's retrograde. Avoid trying to do too much too fast as expectations are high after several years of delay.

There will be no way to 'fix everything' in a short period of time, rather pace yourself and do only those things which can be done in the present while planning patiently for the future.

Transits of May 2011
  • May 3 – New Moon in Taurus
  • May 11 – Mars enters Taurus
  • May 11-12 – Mercury passes 24-Aries
  • May 15 – Mercury enters Taurus
  • May 15 – Venus enters Taurus
  • May 19-20 – Venus conjoins Mars in Taurus
  • May 21 - Sun enters Gemini
The New Moon of May 3 shows that real estate values continue to plunge. Many people who have been unable to sell their homes will ultimately go into foreclosure after two years of being unable to meet mortgage payments.

The transits of Spring 2011 also show a worsening of the employment picture, particularly for the west coast and the state of California. Much of the economic damage done over the years begins to come to a head in 2011.

There is simply no let up from the severe economic climate during the spring of 2011.

The Gemini transits of June show many more people on the roads, relocating from regions that are economically depressed seeking new lives and careers.

So, if you want to get ahead of all the traffic, then the month of March is better used than is June to make those changes.

Because May is a 50/50 month – it is advised to use March well to avoid the unfavorable transits of April and May so that the coming summer months can be applied better to improve the life situation.

June 2011

The transits of June show more of a dispersal of planetary energies. Transiting Saturn will be felt during this month as it stations direct on June 12-13.

The inclinations are strong enough and continue the pressures affecting people by way of the economic crisis.

Social fragmentation along with the high rates of unemployment shows people are not in a good mood whatsoever.

Transits of June 2011
  • June 1 – New Moon in Gemini
  • June 2 – Mercury enters Gemini
  • June 3 – Neptune stations retrograde at 0-Pisces
  • June 4 – Jupiter enters Taurus
  • June 9- Venus enters Gemini
  • June 12-13 – Saturn turns direct at 10-Libra
  • June 15 – Full Moon at 24-Sagittarius
  • June 21 – Sun enters tropical Cancer: Summer Solstice in northern hemisphere
  • June 21 - Mars enters Gemini
The Gemini transits clearly show more movement of people during June, just ahead of the coming summer season. Increased traffic on the highways coupled with expensive gasoline prices makes for a messy month overall.

People who did not take advantage of March's transits are attempting to catch up during late May into June.

This causes problems for many as gaps appear due to the lack of practicality and underestimation of the amount of work to accomplish during the spring months.

A partial solar eclipse during the New Moon of June 1 at 11-Gemini will be visible in the extreme northern latitudes.

A tiny portion of this partial eclipse will be observed from regions in northern Alaska, northern Canada, Greenland, Iceland and regions of northeastern Asia.

However, two weeks later there will be a strong lunar eclipse.

The full moon of June 15 at 24-Sagittarius will feature one of the darkest total lunar eclipses for 11-years. The lunar eclipse will be visible in Africa, southern Asia, and Australia.

The best place to view the Moon’s eclipse will be in the northernmost regions of central Asia, then Eastern Europe and northeastern Africa.

According to my calculations, the June 15 total lunar eclipse phase at 24-Sagittarius will  for about 100 minutes.

The penumbral eclipse will begin at 17:24:37 Universal Time (UT.)

The partial eclipse will begin at 18:22:57 UT.

Total eclipse will start at 19:22:29 UT with point of greatest lunar eclipse happening at 20:12:36 UT.

The umbral phase of magnitude will reach 1.71 at instant of greatest eclipse. This will make it the second darkest lunar eclipse in recorded astronomical history.

Regions in South America, Western Africa and Europe will see the June 15 eclipse at moon-rise. Eastern Asia and Australia will view the eclipse at moon set.

Western Europe will see the moon already totally eclipsed when it rises.

People in southern Africa and Australia will see the Moon glide past the cluster untouched.
The solstice of June 21, 2011 continues much of the economic stress in summer.

SUMMER SOLSTICE, JUNE 21, 2011, 10:16 A.M. PDT, Los Angeles, California
 click on chart to enlarge

The unusual thing about this seasonal chart is that it has the same angles as the vernal equinox chart of March 21, 2011.

It continues to show Saturn in the Second House of Finances, now with transiting Mercury in Cancer, in square aspect to Saturn at 10-Libra. The economic stresses of households remain at the bare minimum and continue through the summer season.

Transiting Venus, in Gemini at June 21, will trine by air element the Moon and Saturn in the vernal equinox chart.

This signifies that at the state level, there is understanding and compassion for the suffering the people of California are experiencing - but here is simply no let up in the economic pain.

This position clearly shows that the public at large is very unhappy with the progress of the economy and will demand – in widening protests – for change of the status quo.

July 2011

The transits for July show more of the same negative tone going into the summer season for the northern hemisphere. Also, seismic activity for California is highlighted.

Transits of July 2011
  • July 1 – New Moon at 9-Cancer
  • July 7 – Jupiter trine Pluto
  • July 10 – Uranus stations retrograde
  • July 14- Full Moon at 22-Cancer
  • July 30 – New Moon at 7-Leo
New Moon, July 1, 2011 - Los Angeles, California
click chart to enlarge

The new moon of July 1 features a square to Saturn at 10-Libra.

Employment is still difficult to find as Mars at 7-Gemini sits on the Second House cusp with Venus and the South Lunar Node also in the Second House of Finances.

Mercury at 28-Cancer sits in the Fourth House, so there is a need for people to rest from the rough winter and spring months at the start of July.

A cardinal grand cross configuration features the New Moon, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto.

Grand Cross New Moon, July 1, 2011
click on chart to enlarge

The New Moon takes place at 9-10 degrees Cancer in the Third House of Neighborhood and opposes Pluto in Capricorn.

All three bodies are squared by transiting Uranus in Aries, which is opposed to Saturn in Libra.

Aries and Libra are intercepted in the Sixth and Twelfth Houses at this new moon. This shows contenting forces, both liberal and conservative, opposed to one another, but offering no new solutions. They continue to be stuck in the status quo.

Saturn's position at 10-Libra is the most advanced among the celestial bodies at this time.

Situated, intercepted, in the Sixth Mundane House, the unemployment picture worsens. People are stuck, frustrated and pissed off mightily.

This configuration shows tension that continues the cardinal crisis and exacerbates the socio-economic-political climate already stressed from several years of financial hardship.

The tensions of July 2011 are those which require patience because of the powerful cardinality.

There are opposing forces, resentments, crime and increasing levels of social dismay at the inability of leaders to dig up out of the depressed economic climate.

Full Moon, July 14, 2011
click on chart to enlarge

The Full Moon of July 14 is exact at 11:38 p.m., PDT, and shows the cardinality in play with Uranus, Pluto and Saturn – all angular on the Ascendant, Mid-heaven and Descendant.

Seismic activity is also highlighted for this region with these planets angular just as the full lunar phase sets.

Transiting Venus, in Cancer, continues to receive square aspects from Uranus in Aries and Saturn in Libra, as the planet is located in the Fourth House of this full moon chart.

The Sun, at 22-Cancer, is also in the Fourth House in opposition to the Moon at 22-Cancer.

There is stress at this time. The domestic and real estate market sphere is highlighted.

What has been several years of declining values along with rampant corruption in real estate has led to unusually high levels of unsold properties on the books of banks. The pressure to relieve this has led to increased foreclosures and housing stress throughout the region.

The summer season does not ease up on the tension according to these planetary configurations, yet again, it is advised to practice prudence and patience rather than to allow the inclinations and strong cardinality to take hold.

Before the summer, it is also advised to take precautions for seismic activity in California and to have emergency supplies prepared in advance due to the angular configurations of the planets.

There are two new moons in the month of July 2011.

New Moon at 7-Leo, July 30, 2011
click horoscope to enlarge

This will be the second new moon to take place in the month of July 2011. This new moon, at 7-Leo squares Jupiter at 8-Taurus.

The problems range from self-indulgence, to waste of resources and foolish optimism to people promising more than they can actually deliver.

The extravagance shown at this time is littered by with shoddiness and poor taste.

There is a lack of attention to detail as the summer continues. Laziness has set in - born of a lack of industry and employment - so impracticality is rampant among those looking for shortcuts.

There are acts of ‘charity’ readily apparent as those who are generous with resources at this time act on them with desires to gain some personal recognition and ego-satisfaction.

The danger this summer is from unrealistic optimism, misplaced acts of sympathy along with inertia that generally interferes with sound, practical judgment.

The business climate remains anemic, and along with the high rates of unemployment and people living in their cars, or those families forced to double and triple up, tempers are bound to flare for those who have not been able to relocate before the onset of spring.

In the July 30 new moon chart above, you will see transiting Pluto, retrograde in Capricorn, has tightened its orb to square Uranus in Aries. This inclination brings on rebelliousness bent on expressing itself.

The inclinations are to those who have been unable to adjust to the realities of the economic climate. Being unable to adjust, there are those who attempt to create opportunities for themselves which lead to danger – for others and themselves.

August 2011

Heading into the month of August, planetary configurations shift with a series of changes involving the planets Mercury, Venus and Jupiter.

There are a series of planetary shifts in the month which call on people to continue to adjust as Jupiter begins to slow towards its station retrograde by the end of the month.

In mid-August, both Venus and Mercury make important turns that will impact the next 9-10 months.

On August 16, transiting Venus in tropical Leo will turn from ‘morning’ to ‘evening star.’ This phase will last to June 2012, when the next major Venus Transit will occur in tropical Gemini.

Following on the heels of Venus’ turn to ‘evening star’ is Mercury – during the time of its retrograde in Leo, will rise before the Sun on August 17.

Both transits feature a ‘change in views,’ with Venus looking back, while Mercury looks forward.

August is therefore a ‘turning point’ month that will have ramifications for the next astrological year of 2012.

It advised to work on a schedule that applies the months of March, April, May, June, July and August to complete as much work for the year 2011 as is allowable.

Transits of August 2011

August 2-3 – Mercury stations retrograde at 1-degree Virgo
August 3 – Mars enters Cancer
August 5 – Neptune re-enters tropical Aquarius
August 16 – Venus turns to “evening star” phase
August 17 – Mercury turns to superior conjunction phase
August 25 – *Saturn sesquiquadrate Neptune

*The sesquiquadrate aspect between Saturn in Libra and Neptune at 29-Aquarius continues the stresses of the summer. This aspect – sesquiquadrate – is 135 degrees of arc, the combination of the power of a square and semi-square. The aspect produces agitation, tension, and irritations.

August 26 - Mercury turns direct at 18-Leo
August 30 – Jupiter stations direct at 10-Taurus

Another planetary shift in is the Mercury retrograde (Aug. 2-3 to Aug. 26.) Mercury retrogrades are always opportunities to review, revise and redo.

This particular retrograde signifies a need to review the coming autumn season, while at the same time slows the progress of matters during the month of August.

This slowing of matters is also seen by the transit of Jupiter, direct since Nov. 18, 2011, will be slowing this month until its retrograde August 30.

Jupiter will only move a little more than one-degree in motion, as it begins the month of August at 9-degrees Taurus and will end the month retrograde at 10-Taurus.

This indicates that the coming months from March to late August should be applied as best you can in order to make way forward from September 2011 to Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2011, when Jupiter will station direct at 0-Taurus.

September 2011

The new moons, which started closer to the first of the month since March, have been sliding to start at the end of months since July.

The previous retrograde of Mercury in August has taken the planet back into tropical Leo, where it will be found direct already by September 1.

The summer days continue into September as people try to make the best out of what has been another difficult summer.

Transits of September 2011

New Moon – August 29 – at 5-Virgo
September 11 - 10th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001 attacks
September 12 – Full Moon at 19-Pisces
September 14-15 – Venus enters Libra
September 16 – Pluto turns direct at 4-Capricorn
September 17- Venus heads south by declination
September 23 – Sun enters Libra – autumnal equinox
September 27 – Mercury heads south by declination
September 27 – New Moon at 4-Libra
September 28- Mercury at superior conjunction

Sun enters Libra – Sept. 23, 2011 – Manhattan, N.Y
click on chart to enlarge

The chart for the fall equinox in the northern hemisphere looks to be a contentious one. Thirteen days earlier, the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks will have been remembered.

The autumnal equinox chart of 2011 show that impulses are strong. It is advised that during the end of summer into the start of the fall season, that people continue to show patience and restraint.

The Moon is in a last quarter phase to the Sun at 0-Libra. The new moon will not arrive until three-and-a-half days later, on Sept. 27.

Therefore, the autumn equinox of 2011 shows economic matters until Dec. 14, 2011 will continue to be challenging at best.

The transit of Mars in the Eleventh Mundane House along with the Moon in Leo, and in trine aspect to Uranus in Aries near the cusp of the Eighth House, indicates that there is increased energy to make things happen – especially on the financial front.

The desire to play leadership roles and to work with friends, groups and associates is strong; yet with Uranus retrograde in Aries until December, associates may goad one another into taking reckless actions.

The Moon’s conjunction to Mars in the autumn equinox chart shows tempers are high among groups and that impulsiveness is to be guarded against.

The autumn season of 2011 continues the theme of 'change' and 'adjustment' to made in the lives of many people.

Those who pace themselves and who exercise patience and prudence through to this time will feel that they are better off than last year.

Jupiter remains retrograde in tropical Taurus during the autumn, as Saturn transits direct.

Both planets will gradually resume an opposition by December 2011, when on Christmas Day, Jupiter stations direct at 0-Taurus, and will begin to pull away once again from opposition to Saturn in the late degrees of Libra during the winter of 2012.

Therefore, the business climate from the autumn of 2011 to Christmas Day is, at best, anemic once again, as people continue to cut back spending until lower rates of unemployment are to be found.

There will be a lengthy economic outlook on the second half of 2011 in another edition of Global Astrology.

Chart shown - Spring Equinox, March 20, 2011 at 7:20:50 P.M., EDT, Washington, D.C.

Also known as the Aries Ingress 2011 horoscope.

By Jude Cowell, mundane Astrolog.S
Stars Over Washington

Sun in Aries and Saturn in Libra are Exalted; there is a 'Grand Cross' pattern which includes MC/IC angles, and, if the Nodal axis is included, is dissociate with the Nodal axis in Sag/Gemini; ASC/DSC, Sun and Uranus are in Cardinal signs.

The ‘Hour of Jupiter’ is in a critical/crisis degree, in Seventh House of Partnerships,
Legal Affairs, and Open Enemies; near Midheaven.

The South Node at '28Gemini' is at a degree of Bankruptcy - the position of the Moon (the people) on the morning of 9/11/01; the effects of a major coup, the attacks of 9/11, continue to ripple and weaken the US.

The Ascendant at 1-Libra brings U.S. natal Midheaven to the fore (from our nation's Sibly natal chart MC 00Libra53) and makes evaluating Venus Spring 2011's chart-ruler.

Venus rules 1st and 9th houses; you see listed the two applying aspects of Venus (how things will proceed): trine Moon 5 applying degrees and then conjunct Neptune 7 applying degrees.

1.) A Moon-Venus trine indicates optimism, harmony, and honorable intentions and perhaps will bring improvement to America's status in the world (natal MC), something we sorely need.

Careers of the populace may benefit as well so this gives some support to what economic talking heads are saying now: improvement in levels of hiring in 2011 (though many positions may be temporary or consulting, no benefits.)

2.) Chart-ruler Venus' second applying aspect is a dreamy, illusory conjunction with Neptune, bringer of inspiration and spirituality, but also of fraud, deception, disillusion, dissolution, and loss.

Plus, negative escapism is one of Neptune's favorite of ways of (not) dealing with difficult issues and one thinks of the so-called 'drug wars' going on in Mexico and spilling into the US.

Venus-Neptune indicates an inflated treasury (Neptune here is in a crisis-ridden 29th degree) and their conjunction brings more nebulous Piscean energy into the chart.

At its best, the pair describes the highest form of spiritual love, healing ability, idealism, and a hypnotic power of attraction.

Perhaps a new entertainer, film, artwork, or piece of music will capture the public imagination in a very big way this Spring, with vivid imagination and romance prominent. (Can Justin Bieber get bigger?)

In addition, this aspect shows signs of impractical dreaming, deception, or of being a burden to others.

Venus conjunct Neptune also indicates 'loss' (Neptune) of, by, or through a 'female' (Venus) or by devaluation (US credit rating?); fraud involving smaller amounts of money is indicated.

Actually with Neptune's tiresomely long-term conjunction to US natal Moon in Aquarius (we-the-people) - though not as close for Spring 2011 – we have a midpoint picture with U.S. natal Moon at apex.

Venus/Neptune =  natal U.S. Moon - being easily influenced or led by others; a dreamy nature; chaotic emotional lives; comforting those who delight in deceit; negative escapism (moderation in all things!); self-delusion; romantic notions; impracticality.

As you see, the Sun enters Aries with progressive Uranus in close conjunction, the Sun's only planetary aspect for Spring 2011.

This signifies powerful, decisive actions yet with unpredictability, eccentricity, and possibly, occultism involved; Sun rules Eleventh House of Hopes, Wishes, Groups, and Associations.

The combined energies of  Sun-Uranus = radical reformers, battles between rule makers and decision makers, a contrary head of state with unusual habits, and/or revolutions for the purpose of removing existing leaders.

With Sun and Uranus combining at Aries Point, much unpredictable energy, restlessness, and disruption are evident; for America we may glean a midpoint since their conjunction lies opposite US natal MC.

Sun-Uranus = MC - major events in support of big plans; hopeful triumph for the ego; restless people with far-reaching ideas; reformers, technicians, inventors; sudden events bring emotional upheaval and have major impact.

Jupiter at Critical Degree of '12Aries' is a crisis-critical degree with financial implications (moneybags Jupiter's natural sign Sagittarius is intercepted in 3rd house, and also rules mystic Pisces on the Sixth House cusp.

Pisces is a military sign – Sixth House is the realm of military and police services along with Work in general, and Health.)

Disturbingly, Jupiter's Sabian Symbol for '12Aries' = "A Flock of Wild Geese" may relate to the mystery of global bird and fish deaths; round up to '13Aries' and we have "A Failed Bomb Explosion," which may be literal, figurative, or both but a least it's "failed."

The fated Nodal axis lies near the MC/IC axis of Career and Home (Security); with North Node near the IC one hopes that homelessness and foreclosure in America will be addressed more fully and that conditions will improve.

South Node at MC tends to thwart career aspirations and is seriously affecting America's standing in the world (MC) but these karmic conditions may ease once transiting Saturn trines this SN 27Gem45, thus sextile North Node - but not in Spring 2011.

Disturbingly, powerful and sneaky Pluto is 'in the house' - the Fourth House, the Basis of the Matter and place of endings.

Pluto is at '8Capricorn' = "Birds in the House Singing Happily" which is perhaps another link to mysteriously dead birds; Pluto-North Node opposes MC so we have:

Pluto-North Node = MC - one's future depends upon the actions of others; powerful associations which can cause career setbacks; learning and receiving assistance from important groups; associations with others are the sine qua non of success.

Pluto-North Node = destiny of the masses; powerful connections.

De-structuring and transformation of the Real Estate market is one implication of Pluto in the Fourth House with renovations and repairs indicated.

Our national 'who-owns-what-mortgages' issues continue (Saturn retrograde rules Fourth House cusp), and sad to say, plutonian spies and saboteurs may be afoot even more than before with high-level surveillance becoming more prominent in the news since Pluto also represents big publishers and the use of persuasive propaganda.

Now this is a Full Moon chart (Sun 197 degrees to Moon) so something may have peaked or been fulfilled just prior to March 20 - the Sygyzy Moon (last lunation) is at 28Virgo48, here in 12th house of Karma, Politics, Large Institutions, and the Collective Unconscious.

U.S. natal Saturn 14Libra48 is the first U.S. planet to rise in the chart which brings our exalted Saturn in Libra and its Scales of Justice to the fore this spring, along with our ongoing Saturn Return.

The traditional implication of natal Saturn in Tenth House as America has (Chart for July 4, 1776 5:10 pm LMT, Philadelphia, PA) is a 'fall from grace' - and we feel this occurring if we stay on the current path of trying to act as the world's global police force while spreading
'democracy' at gunpoint.

That forces within the U.S. are attempting to affect our nation's total collapse has been in evidence for years now, according to some people such as myself.

Moon 17Libra26 is thankfully past depressive Saturn in the First House and parallels the fixed star Spica (potential for brilliance, but also The Spike) which hopefully shows more improvement in consumer confidence and our emotional state.

Yes, Saturn retrograde in First House shows delays and loss yet Moon in the First House is fortuitous - mixed portents.

However, one of the bigger factors of note is the opposition between societal planets Jupiter and Saturn, a 20-year cycle which influences the world's financial cycles.

This pair's current cycle began on May 28, 2000 at '23Taurus' = " A Jewelry Shop Filled with Magnificent Gems," a hint of the many thefts which society has suffered since the New Millennium began.

We continue to suffer them under complicit, enabling politicians who can't seem to kowtow enough to Wall Street and to the rest of the global crime syndicate of monarchs, Rothschilds, Rockefellers, and their minions.

Messenger, orator, and trader Mercury 18Aries17 in Seventh House of Partnerships, Legal Affairs, and Open Enemies, is ready for action in Aries and parallel (like a strong conjunction.)

The fixed star Altair, the Eagle, a star associated with U.S. ambitions for imperialistic domination and surveillance. Mercury/Jupiter contacts tend to expand thinking and plans while broadening horizons.

These are not especially practical plans, however, and their contact promotes idealism, over promising, and even zealotry.

As you see, the midpoint of the plutocracy pair, Pluto/Chiron, sits directly upon Fifth House cusp of Gambling and Risk-Taking and upon US natal South Node.

This indicates the U.S. falling back on old behaviors (South Node) of disenfranchising those who can least afford to be harmed. One thinks of April 15th as Tax Day when, thanks to recent legislation, the poorest among us are to be the only ones who will not benefit from the President's extension of tax cuts.

Some compromise that tilts the financial hourglass even more toward the well-heeled!

Testosterone-driven Mars, god of war, is in Sixth Mundane House and rules both 7th and 8th houses.

Mr. Contentious is in militaristic Pisces as America-driven wars continue; health issues of our returning soldiers remain critical with sacred warrior Chiron also in
sympathetic Pisces.

A Mars/Neptune (Neptune by way of Pisces) connection may describe infections, epidemics, poisons, gas, and/or travel over water.

Debt (Eighth House) and imprisonment concerns continue with Mars affecting Twelfth House, the polarity of its actual placement in Sixth House. Mars rules the money planet – and The General - Jupiter.

Uprisings and riots continue into the summer as the Ninth House cusp of Foreign Lands in the Spring Equinox chart highlights the passionate rage and warrior energy of two fixed stars closely associated with the Middle East, Capulus and Algol

Sadly, the ancient 'Muslims versus Christians' quarrel heats up and is used by political operatives on all sides for their selfish purposes – to the extent that such high volatility may be managed.

Plus, with the Saturnian South Node in the Ninth house, past behaviors of the US government will continue to play a major role in stimulating Middle Eastern turmoil against the West.

All in all, when set for Washington DC, the chart has many planets (actors) in the northern hemisphere showing many private issues of note to be addressed for Spring 2011.

Only two planets are in the public sector (Mercury and Jupiter in Seventh House), so most of the initiative belongs not to America, but to others with only two planets (Saturn and the Moon) in the eastern half of the chart from which we will operate this spring.

America's Saturn Return is in full swing with issues of authority, responsibility, accountability, austerity, lack, delay, lessons to be learned, depression, and loss on the U.S. menu. A steady (Saturn) course is necessary.

To close, here is a round-up of seven prominent midpoint pictures in the chart which will flavor Spring 2011.

Look to the house positions of the apex (focal) planets to see where the midpoint energies play out for Washington along with associated house rulership and planetary aspects.

The Saturn/Uranus picture with apex Pluto has been in effect prior and will continuing enforcing its difficult energies upon the world:

Sun/Saturn = Pluto - elimination of pessimism or despair; disciplined people who want and attract power; overwhelming rigidity and inflexibility; an increased will to retaliate against others for slights; illness inhibits development; pressure to change one's entire value system.

Saturn/Uranus = Pluto - upheaval to protect assets; rebellion; tremendous fear of loss; violence and brutality; harm through force (war); a desire to overcome difficult situations through extraordinary efforts; concealing changes to activities; rigid
inflexibility replaces adaptation.

(Note: both Sun/Saturn and Saturn/Uranus are quindecile (QD)- 165 degrees - an aspect of obsession-compulsion:

Sun QD Saturn = obsessed with 'measuring up'; driven to prove oneself through ambition and accomplishment; can be cold and calculating; may assume authoritative role with others; can set goals and achieve them if focused.

Saturn QD Uranus = driven toward breaking old, outdated concepts through use of innovative ideas; may disrupt governing systems; can break rules through defiance of law and order; benefit comes through societal changes for the (betterment of mankind.)

Mars/Jupiter = Sun - leadership; success; organizational talent; love of enterprise; resolutions to correct past errors; legal or religious defenses; strong determination toward objectives.

Mars/Jupiter = Uranus - ability to find the best political approaches during times of unrest; abrupt uses of social forces; studying people's motivations; urge for freedom and independence; ambition; making sudden decisions; unexpected events within partnerships or business; active resistance to tutelage or guardianship.

Jupiter/Neptune = Mars - speculation; unreliability; being let down by others; plans without prospect; defiant reactions toward explanations about delays, confusion, or laxity in meeting obligations; strong idealism; a need for practical focus; the courage
to defend one's explanations of reality.

Sun/ASC = MC - professional recognition; attaining esteem and respect.

Uranus/ASC = MC - using technology to understand others (by spying?); unexpected changes occur yet aims are fulfilled; excitement; making changes; agitation on behalf of an increase in safety and protection; experience prevails over disruption.

So we see that the vernal equinox raises the stakes of the Cardinal Crisis in 2011.

In these times, there is much tension in the world. Rapid changes, transitions, being unprepared and uncertain about what the future may bring tends to raise stress levels - leading to anxiety and depression in the world.

Another of my favorite astrologers who I read to briefly escape the travails of my intense mundane work is American astrologer Lynn Hayes.

Like her, I believe actualization, or personal transformation, is a form of gnosis and key to using astrological knowledge to build and maintain a healthy body, mind and spirit.

What we often need, Lynn says, is to look within ourselves for the answers we seek.

Let's hear more of what this professional astrologer has to say on how to tackle the stresses and tensions in these historic and challenging times.

Astrologer Lynn Hayes:
How To Survive In Challenging Times

Astrological Musings

No matter what you think about the controversy over the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012, there is no question that this is a significant time in human history.

As I write this, a wave of revolutionary fervor is spreading throughout North Africa and the Middle East.

In the United States, frustrated workers are taking to the streets in protest against a political structure that favors banks and corporations and strips individuals of their economic rights.

It would be easy to think that perhaps the world really IS coming to an end if you weren’t following the astrological trends.

These trends provide a context for these world events and offer clues to help us to make sense of them as well as the changes that are occurring in our own lives.

The interrelationships of the planets as they circle the Sun help us to define periods of cyclic change that will encourage personal growth and global balance.

Depending upon the nature of the individual planet, areas of life which are out of balance will be highlighted and will require that we make some sort of adjustment in order to achieve a harmonious state in our lives.

In order to understand the nature of the changes that are coming, we must travel back in time to the beginning of 2008 when Pluto entered Capricorn.

As the planet that governs destruction and regeneration as well as revelations about the dark side of human character, Pluto has a transformative effect on the issues of any sign that it travels through.

Pluto’s journey through its own sign of Scorpio witnessed revelations of sexual abuse and the HIV epidemic (death through sex) which transformed the way most of us viewed the permissive sexuality that came about during Pluto’s sojourn through Libra, the sign of relationships.

Pluto’s passage through Sagittarius brought us not only the September 11th tragedy (death by airplane and religion, both Sagittarian motifs) but also a relentless optimism that resulted in “bubbles” in the stock market and in housing.

With the entry of Pluto into Capricorn, that excessive optimism of the Sagittarian theme was forced down to earth with a hard landing.

Where Sagittarius encourages us to seek worlds that lie beyond the boundaries of our imagination, Capricorn requires that we restrict our scope and attend to the details at hand.

The economic debacle that followed Pluto’s entry into Capricorn has been most difficult for those of us who were the most optimistic during the Sagittarian period – those of us who took out large mortgages in anticipation of employment success or who were living beyond our means.

The difficult adjustment period of Pluto’s entry into Capricorn in 2008 was followed by a conjunction of Chiron (wounding and healing) to Neptune (spiritual attunement) in 2009 and early 2010 that brought up all of our anxieties and emotional distress and may have made it even more difficult to work through our economic difficulties.

Chiron’s ultimate goal is to heal any imbalance in the body/mind/spirit system and sometimes in order to do that we must undergo a "healing crisis," which forces the release of mental and emotional toxins which have become problematic.

Occasionally this results in actual illness that must then be attended to.

In 2010 a major alignment of planets in the cardinal signs of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries and Libra began to take shape.

Pluto in Capricorn, Saturn in Libra, and Jupiter and Uranus in Aries - all took their places in a drama that forced many of us to make changes in our personal lives in order to accommodate these global forces for healing and transformation.

These forces reached a peak during June’s eclipse in Cancer when the planets aligned in a Grand Cross of transformation and power.

Now that we are just one year away from the dreaded 2012, many are fearful of changes that might still occur.

"Haven’t we had enough change?" we may be asking.

And if everything in our personal lives is in balance, then we have had enough change.

THEN we are ready to take a break.

Until that point, the planetary gods work tirelessly to encourage personal and global transformation to bring balance into our earthly lives.

During the summer of 2011, Uranus in Aries will be within one degree of an exact square to Pluto in Capricorn.

The combination of Uranus and Pluto is a particularly potent one that breaks down old structures and ways of being (Pluto) so that something new and fresh and completely authentic can replace it (Uranus).

This is not always an easy process.

Those of us who remember the 1960s (when Uranus and Pluto conjoined in Virgo) will remember the thrill of radical and revolutionary new lifestyles that broke down the stuffy (Virgo) morality of the period.

This was a time of great liberation around the world:

Black Power, Women’s Liberation, the domino of independent states across Africa as colonialism fell – but there was also a great Plutonic cost in terms of human lives that were lost as the old order was broken down (Pluto) in order for change (Uranus) to take place.

The upcoming square of Uranus to Pluto will actually begin in the summer of 2012, and the two will dance an incredible seven (7) times before concluding in March of 2015.

The turbulence that we see now sweeping across the Middle East and North Africa is just the beginning of this wave of Uranus/Pluto energy that seeks to sweep away the old and rotting corpse of a way of life that no longer works for humans at this stage of their psychic and spiritual development.

This same dynamic will be at work in our personal lives, revealing any pocket of experience that are no longer serving us, and which needs to be removed from our lives.

This will understandably create a certain amount of chaos on an intimately individual level.

The changes of the next few years will most personally affect those of us with planets between 5 and 15 degrees of the cardinal signs (Cancer, Capricorn, Aries and Libra,) and most especially those with Uranus and Pluto in these signs, including:
  • Those born between 1919 and 1928 with Pluto in Cancer
  • Those born between 1929 and 1932 with Uranus in Aries
  • Those born between 1951 and 1953 with Uranus in Cancer
  • Those born between 1969 and 1972 with Uranus in Libra
  • Those born between 1974 and 1978 with Pluto in Libra
  • Those born between 1989 and 1992 with Uranus in Capricorn
With Pluto in Capricorn, the very foundation of our material world will be challenged by the Uranian influence.

Our finances, our retirement plans, our marriages – any of these structures that we build to contain our lives - could be threatened if they are not built on solid footings.

The effect of Uranus can be very stressful for the nervous system since Uranus operates on an electrical platform that can excite and thrill us, but also inspire anxiety and distress.

It is crucial to remember during this period that if any aspect of our personal lives break down under these influences, it is because they are no longer serving their purpose and require transformation in order for all involved to move forward in their personal evolution.

However, the gods are kind and they will be gracing us with a number of powerful harmonious transits to accompany the stressful times.

Chiron (the Soul Healer) and Neptune (the Soul Teacher) both move into Pisces this year, where they will offer a direct line for us to communicate more directly with our own inner guides and teachers.

This process will be facilitated by Pluto, the Great Transformer, in a harmonious sextile to Chiron that occurs between 2012 and 2014.

At the same time, Saturn, the Celestial Teacher, will be in a harmonious trine to Chiron, helping us to more easily work with the soul wounds that are the source of our greatest pain, but also the keys to our greatest personal transformation.

Saturn will also trine Neptune between 2012 and 2013, enhancing our ability to give form (Saturn) to our direct connection to the spiritual world and our own personal guidance.

Saturn Trine Neptune - May 2013

And finally, a harmonious sextile from Saturn to Pluto during this same period will provide us with a solid container (Saturn) within which this tremendous metamorphosis can take place.

Because every human being is interconnected through an energetic grid, the personal work that each of us does to accelerate our personal transformation will have an affect on every other person on the planet.

But this works both ways: we ourselves our affected by the energies with which we surround ourselves.

Waves of fear and distress can be internalized in ways that are not helpful.

We are being guided here by the most powerful of the planetary gods, and a high level of trust in the process will be required of us.

The biggest enemy of personal transformation is resistance, and in a period of extreme volatility, such as the one we are entering, it is tempting to try to protect ourselves by digging in our heels and attempting to hold back the flood of change.

This will not be effective and will only create additional distress.

As part of this resistance you may find yourself experiencing physical illness or drug addictions (especially with both Chiron and Neptune in Pisces, the sign of escapism as well as spirituality).

You may be plagued with anxieties, as you attempt to hold back submerged thoughts and memories which clamor for attention and release.

Or, you may find yourself engaging with these planetary energies by allowing yourself to be led by them in a mode that is completely reactive and without thought or planning.

The force of Uranus can inspire us to quit our jobs and leave the country one minute, and regret it the next.

Some of us will react to heightened anxiety by acting out and creating chaos in our relationships and work environments.

Under this pressure, psychotherapy may be helpful, although most psychotherapists are not trained to look at life through the lens of a spiritual awakening.

Throughout this period we will be best served by orienting ourselves towards the spiritual experience, by seeking greater intuition and wisdom that is freely given from the inside.

Turning inwards - in meditation, ecstatic dance, yoga, chi gong – all of these classic modalities teach us how to work with the energy of life to find the quiet center within.

It is from this center that all effective transformation comes.

And most of all - learn to trust the planets.

Through their guidance and wisdom we learn that just as we fear we will be enveloped by the darkness, the light shines through in greater measure than ever before - bathing us in the warm glow of ecstasy, as we leave the darkness of the past behind and walk into a new world.
~

By learning to take this excellent astrological advice, we begin to see that many of the adjustments we can make are within ourselves, as Lynn Hayes reminds us.

Individuals all have the power to turn inwards and to seek to remove from within those issues that become externalized into our immediate environment.

On the bigger picture, the transpersonal world of planetary inclinations and the effects on whole populations, we are able to clearly understand how, as individuals, we can have a more positive impact on global affairs with our personal issues now resolved, then we can tackle - effectively - the forces which seek to cause contention in the world.

Coming in the wake of the January 25, 2011 revolution in Egypt that forced out the 29-year regime of Hosni Mubarak's government - the nations of Bahrain, Libya and Yemen are also in crisis mode with uprisings in Iran and Iraq as well.

What people must understand is that the entire geopolitical and social landscape of the Middle East is being reshaped, in part by the inclinations of planetary transits, but also by 'hidden' groups and organizations, intent on pushing change, prematurely before their time.

Again, it continues to be my mundane view that we are living in historic times.

The years ahead, challenging as they may be, must be faced, so the world can become a better place in which to live as we enter this new decade of the Twenty-Tens.

Battle For Bahrain
Men scurry for safety from military gunfire after being attacked in the city of Manama, Bahrain, on Friday, February 18, 2011. The Bahraini Army fired on it own people, causing chaos in the streets with a reported 50 killed and 200+ wounded. Widespread clashes were also reported in Libya and Yemen as U.S. President Barack Obama called on their governments to respect human rights and urged "restraint."

MANAMA, Bahrain - Soldiers opened fire Friday on thousands of protesters defying a government ban and streaming toward the landmark square that had been the symbolic center of the uprising to break the political grip of the Gulf nation's leaders.

Officials at the main Salmaniya hospital said at least 50 people were injured, some with gunshot wounds.

Some doctors and medics on emergency medical teams were in tears as they tended to the wounded. X-rays showed bullets still lodged inside victims.

"This is a war," said Dr. Bassem Deif, an orthopedic surgeon examining people with bullet-shattered bones.

Protesters described a chaotic scene of tear gas clouds, bullets coming from many directions and people slipping in pools of blood as they sought cover.

Some claimed the gunfire came from either helicopters or sniper nests, a day after riot police swept through the protest encampment in Pearl Square, killing at least five people and razing the tents and makeshift shelters that were inspired by the demonstrators in Cairo's Tahrir Square.

An Associated Press cameraman saw army units shooting anti-aircraft weapons, fitted on top of armored personnel carriers, above the protesters, in apparent warning shots and attempts to drive them back from security cordons about 200 yards (200 meters) from the square.

Then the soldiers turned firearms on the crowd, one marcher said.

"People started running in all directions and bullets were flying," said Ali al-Haji, a 27-year-old bank clerk.

"I saw people getting shot in the legs, chest, and one man was bleeding from his head."

"My eyes were full of tear gas, there was shooting and there was a lot of panic," said Mohammed Abdullah, a 37-year-old businessman taking part in the protest.

The clash came hours after funeral mourners and worshipers at Friday prayers called for the toppling of the Western-allied monarchy in the tiny island nation that is home to the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet, the centerpiece of the Pentagon's efforts to confront Iranian military influence.

Some members of Bahrain's Sunni ruling system worry that Shiite powerhouse Iran could use Bahrain's majority Shiites as a further foothold in the region.

U.S. President Barack Obama condemned the reports of violence against the protesters in Bahrain, Libya and Yemen, urging government restraint.

"I am deeply concerned about reports of violence in Bahrain, Libya and Yemen," Obama said. "The United States condemns the use of violence by governments against peaceful protesters in those countries and wherever else it may occur.

"The United States urges the governments of Bahrain, Libya and Yemen to show restraint in responding to peaceful protests and to respect the rights of their people."

Day by day, the crisis in Bahrain has deepened.

The cries against the king and his inner circle - at a main Shiite mosque and at burials for those killed in Thursday's crushing attack, reflect a sharp escalation of the political uprising, which began with calls to weaken the Sunni monarchy's power and address claims of discrimination against the Shiite majority.

The mood, however, has turned toward defiance of the entire ruling system after the brutal crackdown on a protest encampment in Bahrain's capital, Manama, which put the nation under emergency-style footing with military forces in key areas and checkpoints on main roads.

"The regime has broken something inside of me. All of these people gathered today have had something broken in them," said Ahmed Makki Abu Taki at the funeral for his 23-year-old brother, Mahmoud - killed in the pre-dawn sweep through Pearl Square.

"We used to demand for the prime minister to step down, but now our demand is for the ruling family to get out."

At a Shiite mosque in the village of Diraz, an anti-government hotbed, imam Isa Qassim called the Pearl Square assault a "massacre" and thousands of worshipers chanted:

"The regime must go!"

In a sign of Bahrain's deep divisions, government loyalists filled Manama's Grand Mosque to hear words of support for the monarchy and take part in a post-sermon march protected by security forces.

Many arrived with Bahraini flags draped over the traditional white robes worn by Gulf men.

Portraits of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa were distributed.

"We must protect our country," said Adnan al-Qattan, the cleric leading prayers. "We are living in dangerous times."

He denounced attempts to "open the doors to evil and foreign influences" - an apparent reference to suspicions that Shiite powerhouse Iran could take advantages of any gains by Bahrain's Shiites, who account for about 70 percent of the population.

The pro-government gathering had many nonnative Bahrainis, including South Asians and Sunni Arabs from around the region.

Shiite have long complained of policies giving Sunnis citizenship and jobs, including posts in security forces, to offset the Shiite majority.

Outside a Shiite village mosque, several thousand mourners gathered to bury three of the men killed in the crackdown.

The first body, covered in black velvet, was passed hand to hand toward a grave as it was being dug.

Amid the Shiite funeral rites, many chanted for the removal of the king and the entire Sunni dynasty that has ruled for more than two centuries in Bahrain - the first nation in the Gulf to feel the pressure for changes sweeping the Arab world.

"Our demands were peaceful and simple at first. We wanted the prime minister to step down,' Mohamed Ali, a 40-year-old civil servant, said as he choked back tears.

"Now the demands are harsher and have reached the pinnacle of the pyramid. We want the whole government to fall."

In Manama, soldiers placed roadblocks and barbed wire around Pearl Square and other potential gathering sites. Work crews tried to cover up protest graffiti.

In another funeral in the Shiite village of Karzkan, opposition leaders urged protesters to keep up their fight but not to seek revenge.

"We know they have weapons and they are trying to drag us into violence," said Sheik Ali Salman, the leader of the largest Shiite party, Al Wefaq, whose 18 lawmakers have resigned in protest from the 40-seat parliament.

On Thursday, Bahrain's leaders banned public gatherings.

But the underlying tensions in Bahrain run even deeper than the rebellions for democracy that began two months ago in Tunisia and later swept away Hosni Mubarak in Egypt and are challenging old-guard regimes in Libya and Yemen.

Foreign Minister Khalid Al Khalifa said the crackdown was necessary because the demonstrators were "polarizing the country" and pushing it to the "brink of the sectarian abyss."

Speaking to reporters after an emergency meeting with his Gulf counterparts in Manama, he called the violence "regrettable," said the deaths would be investigated and added that authorities chose to clear the square by force at 3 a.m., when the fewest number of people would be in the square -  "to minimize any possibility of casualties."

Many protesters were sleeping and said they received little warning of the assault. More than 230 people were injured, some seriously.

In Geneva, Navi Pillay, the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights said the response of some governments in the Middle East and Africa to the demands of their people was "illegal and excessively heavy-handed," and she condemned the use of military-grade shotguns by security forces in Bahrain.

The European Union and Human Rights Watch urged Bahrain to order security forces to stop attacks on peaceful protesters.

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Washington must expand efforts for political and economic reforms in places such as Bahrain. "There is an urgency to this," he told the Senate Armed Services Committee.

WikiLeaks, the secret-sharing website, has released new State Department cables detailing basic Bahraini foreign policy and concerns about regional powerhouse Iran.

One intriguing cable consists of questions sent by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, asking the embassy to evaluate the leadership potential of the country's top princes.

The cable includes questions about relationships between the princes, their influence on government, views of the United States and whether any of them have histories of drug or alcohol use.

There is no record of any answers.

The protesters had called for the monarchy to give up control over top government posts and all critical decisions and address deep grievances by Shiites, who claim they face systematic discrimination and poverty and are blocked from key roles in public service and the military.

Shiites have clashed with police before over their complaints, including in the 1990s. But the growing numbers of Sunnis joining the latest demonstrations surprised authorities, said Simon Henderson, a Gulf specialist at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

"The Sunnis seem to increasingly dislike what is a very paternalistic government," he said.

"As far as the Gulf rulers are concerned, there's only one proper way with this and that is: be tough and be tough early."

The Bahrain violence forced the cancellation of a lower-tier open-wheel race in Bahrain for Friday and Saturday, and leaves in doubt the March 13 season-opening Formula One race at the same track.

Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone told the BBC he will decide next week whether to proceed with the race. He said he hoped the event can be run as scheduled.

Civil War In Libya?

 [*Editor's note: a smuggled message sent in English out of Libya reads -> "This is an appeal to world. Libya is on fire at the moment. Police and thugs are killing our people in many cities throughout the state... people here are suffering shortage of medicine and food... Communications and internet are blocked ...electricity been cut as well... Libya is in trouble and in desperate need for communication and media to tell and show the whole world what is going on here... More focus on the issue via media is terribly and urgently needed...help us."}

By Kareem Fahim & David D. Kirkpatrick
New York Times

March 1, 2011 - Benghazi, Libya - Mu'ammar Gadhafi's forces struck back on three fronts yesterday, using fighter jets, special forces units, and regular army troops in an escalation of hostilities that brought Libya closer to civil war.

The attacks by the colonel’s troops on an oil refinery in central Libya and on cities on either side of the country unsettled rebel leaders - who earlier had claimed they were close to liberating the country - and showed that despite defections by the military, the government still possessed powerful assets, including fighter pilots willing to bomb Libyan cities.

But the ease with which at least one assault, on the western city of Zawiya, was repelled by anti-government forces raised questions about the ability of the government to muster a serious challenge.

An international campaign to force Gadhafi from power gathered pace yesterday as the Obama administration announced it had seized $30 billion in Libyan assets and the European Union adopted an arms embargo and other sanctions.

As the Pentagon began repositioning Navy warships to support a possible humanitarian or military intervention, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton bluntly told the Libyan leader to surrender power "now, without further violence or delay."

In some of the harshest language yet from a U.S. official, the United Nations envoy, Susan Rice, accused Gadhafi of "slaughtering his own people,"  and being "disconnected from reality."

Gadhafi, who in the past two weeks has launched the most brutal crackdown of any Arab regime facing anti-government protests, laughed off a question from ABC News yesterday about whether he would step down as the Obama administration demands.

“My people love me. They would die for me,’’ he said. Street battles raged in Misrata and Zawiya, two important breakaway cities near Tripoli, the nation’s capital and principal Gadhafi stronghold.

Gadhafi supporters said they were in control of the city of Sabratha, west of Tripoli, which has seemed to go back and forth between the two camps in the past week.

In Zawiya, a city with important oil resources just 30 miles from the capital, residents said they rebuffed a series of attacks, suffering no casualties but killing about 10 soldiers and capturing about a dozen others.

A government spokesman confirmed the death toll.

"It is perfect news,’" said A.K. Nasrat, 51, an engineer who is among the rebels, before adding: "There is no way they are going to take this city out of our hands unless we all die first."

The first attack took place shortly after midnight, when some pro-Gadhafi soldiers in pickup trucks tried to pass through the city’s eastern gate, Nasrat said.

But they were spotted by rebel sentries, who defeated them with help from defected army and police personnel defending the city.

Four soldiers were killed and several captured, with some of the captives readily surrendering their arms and switching sides, he said.

Then, in the early evening, several witnesses said, Gadhafi forces - believed to be led by his son Khamis’s private militia - attacked from both the east and the west.

Three pickup trucks tried to enter the narrow city gates from the west, but a rebel-held artillery unit struck one, blowing it up and overturning a second truck, Nasrat said.

Six more pickup trucks tried to breach the eastern gate, he said, but after an exchange of fire the rebels captured two of the trucks and several of the soldiers.

"So about 12 or 14 soldiers were hostages," he said, “and eight of them turned over their arms and joined the people. They are on our side now."

At about 11 p.m., residents of Zawiya reported in telephone interviews that they heard a renewed outbreak of gunfire from the west lasting from 5 to 15 minutes, suggesting that sporadic attacks might continue through the night.

In a direct challenge to claims by rebel military leaders, who have asserted that Libyan Air Force pilots were no longer taking orders from Gadhafi, two Libyan jets conducted bombing raids yesterday.

One was to an unspecified site south of Benghazi and was repulsed by antiaircraft units, senior military officers in Benghazi said.

Another raid, near the eastern city of Ajdabiya, may have aimed at an ammunition depot or a military base. The fighting at the oil refinery, which rebels said was retaken, was at Ras Lanuf, along the coast in the east.

Still, the rebels spoke of tapping revenue from the vast Libyan oil resources now under their control, estimated by some oil company officials to be about 80 percent of the country’s total.

Seeking to increase pressure on the Libyan ruler, the prime ministers of France and Britain echoed Clinton’s call for Gadhafi to go.

Germany proposed a 60-day ban on financial transactions and a spokeswoman for Catherine Ashton, the EU’s foreign policy chief, said that contacts were being established with the opposition.

Italy’s foreign minister on Sunday suspended a nonaggression treaty with Libya on the grounds that the Libyan state "no longer exists," while Clinton said the United States was reaching out to the rebels to "offer any kind of assistance."

France said it was sending medical aid. Prime Minister Francois Fillon said planes loaded with doctors, nurses, and supplies were heading to the rebel-controlled eastern city of Benghazi, calling the airlift "the beginning of a massive operation of humanitarian support for the populations of liberated territories."

The international diplomatic campaign focused on Libya was offset by mounting worries of a building humanitarian crisis, as tens of thousands of mainly poor contract workers stood in lines to leave Libya for its neighbors, Tunisia to the west and Egypt to the east.

The United Nations' refugee agency called the situation a humanitarian emergency, as workers hefting suitcases of possessions stood in long lines to leave Libya, many of them uncertain how they would finally get home.

Fillon told the RTL broadcaster that the French government was studying "all solutions to make it so that Colonel Gadhafi understands that he should go, that he should leave power.’’

British Prime Minister David Cameron declared: "It’s time for Colonel Gadhafi to go."

In the face of such calls, the Libyan authorities blamed Islamic radicals and the West yesterday for a conspiracy to cause chaos and take over the country.

At a news conference for foreign journalists invited to Tripoli, the government spokesman, Musa Ibrahim, denied reports that Gadhafi's loyalists had turned their guns on hundreds of civilians.

"No massacres, no bombardments, no reckless violence against civilians," he said, comparing Libya’s situation to that of Iraq before the US-led invasion in 2003.

But Ibrahim insisted that Libya still sought some kind of gradual political opening as suggested by the colonel’s son, Seif al-Islam Gadhafi.

"We are not like Egypt or Tunisia," the spokesman said. "We are a very Bedouin tribal society. People know that and want gradual change."

Reporters told him that, on Sunday, they had visited Zawiya and had seen no evidence of Islamist forces. "They knew you were coming," the spokesman said. "They were hiding those with an obvious Al Qaeda look."

The visit came a day after defecting officers in the east of the vast desert nation took steps to establish a unified command, while their followers in the rebel-held city of Zawiya, just outside the leader’s stronghold in the capital, displayed tanks, Kalashnikov rifles, and antiaircraft guns.

Ibrahim said reports of massacres by government troops were analogous to those suggesting that Saddam Hussein had developed unconventional weapons in Iraq, suggesting that they were designed as a reason for military attack.

The Cardinal Crisis
Clashes In Libya Unnerves Middle East

Libya – Protesters and security forces battled in the center of Tripoli as anti-government unrest spread to the Libyan capital as Mu'ammar Gadhafi's son went on state television to proclaim that his father remained in charge with the army's backing and would "fight until the last man, the last woman, the last bullet."

Even as Seif al-Islam Gadhafi spoke on Sunday, Feb. 20, clashes were raging in and around Tripoli's central Green Square, lasting until dawn the next day, witnesses said.

They reported snipers opening fire on crowds trying to seize the square, and Gadhafi supporters speeding through in vehicles, shooting and running over protesters.

This video image broadcast on Libyan state television Sunday Feb. 20, 2011 shows Al-Bayda local council building on fire in Libya's third biggest city Al-Bayda, on Sunday after days of bloody protests against the government of ruler Moammar Gadhafi. Al-Bayda's local government building was set on fire during the protests and other unidentified buildings appear to have been looted and ransacked. It's unclear who caused the damage. Libyans have now been protesting for six straight days against Gadhafi's regime - the most serious uprising in his 42-year reign.

Early Monday, protesters took over the office of two of the multiple state-run satellite news channels, witnesses said.

The protests and violence were the heaviest yet in the capital, a sign of the spread of unrest after six days of demonstrations in eastern cities demanding the end of the elder Gadhafi's rule.

In Libya's second biggest city, Benghazi, protesters were in control of the streets Feb. 21, 2011 after days of bloody clashes and were swarming over the main security headquarters, looting weapons, several residents said.

A Turkish Airlines flight trying to land in Benghazi on Monday was forced to circle over the airport then return to Istanbul.

Protesters in Benghazi took down the Libyan flag from above the city's main courthouse and in its place raised the flag of the country's old monarchy, toppled in 1969 in the military coup that brought Mu'ammar Gadhafi to power, one witness said.

Libya has seen the bloodiest crackdown of any Arab country on the wave of protests sweeping the region that toppled the leaders of Egypt and Tunisia.

Since the six days of unrest began, more than 200 people have been killed, according to medical officials, human rights groups and exiled dissidents.

Gadhafi's son said his father would prevail.

In this video image broadcast on Libyan state television early Monday Feb. 21, 2011, Seif al-Islam, son of longtime Libyan leader Mu'ammar Gadhafi, is seen speaking. He says protesters have seized control of some military bases and tanks, and also warned of civil war in the country that would burn its oil wealth.

"We are not Tunisia and Egypt," he said. "Mu'ammar Gadhafi, our leader, is leading the battle in Tripoli, and we are with him."

"The armed forces are with him. Tens of thousands are heading here to be with him. We will fight until the last man, the last woman, the last bullet," he said in a rambling and sometimes confused speech of nearly 40 minutes.

He warned the protesters that they risked igniting a civil war in which Libya's oil wealth "will be burned." He also promised "historic" reforms in Libya if protests stop.

Seif has often been put forward as the regime's face of reform.

Several of the elder Gadhafi's sons have powerful positions in the regime and in past years have competed for influence.

Seif's younger brother Mutassim is the national security adviser, with a strong role in the military and security forces, and another brother Khamis heads the army's 32nd Brigade, which according to U.S. diplomats is the best trained and best equipped force in the military.

The clashes in Tripoli began Sunday afternoon, when protesters from various parts of the city began to stream toward central Green Square, chanting "God is great," said one 28-year-old man who was among the marchers.

In the square, they found groups of Gadhafi supporters, but the larger number of protesters appeared to be taking over the square and surrounding streets, he and two other witnesses said.

That was when the backlash began, with snipers firing down from rooftops and militiamen attacking the crowds, shooting and chasing people down side streets. they said.

"We saw civilian cars with Gadhafi pictures, they started to look for the protesters, to either run over them or open fire with automatic weapons," said the 28-year-old, reached by telephone.

"They were driving like mad men searching for someone to kill. ... It was total chaos, shooting and shouting."

The witnesses reported seeing casualties, but the number could not be confirmed. One, who spoke on condition he be identified only by his first name Fathi, said he saw at least two he believed were dead and many more wounded.

"I could still hear gunfire after 5 a.m. this morning," he said.

In a surprising development Feb. 20, 2011, a senior Libyan diplomat posted in China has reportedly resigned and called on the army to intervene in the bloody uprising against leader Mu'ammar Gadhafi the Al-Jazeera news network reported Monday.

After midnight, protesters took over the main Tripoli offices of two state-run satellite stations, Al-Jamahiriya-1 and Al-Shebabiya, one witness said.

All the witnesses spoke on condition of anonymity because of fears of retaliation.

After daybreak Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, Green Square and surrounding streets were empty.

Schools, government offices and most stores were shut down across the city of 2 million, the witnesses said.

State TV sought to give an air of normalcy, reporting that Mu'ammar Gadhafi received telephone calls of support from the presidents of Nicaragua and Mali.

It showed footage of a crowd of Libyans said to be from the town of Zeltein chanting their support for Gadhafi in a conference hall.

Gadhafi, in flowing black and brown robes, waved to the crowd with both hands. It was not clear when the scene was taking place.

This video image broadcast on Libyan state television Sunday Feb. 20, 2011 purportedly shows longtime Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi appearing in Tripoli on the evening Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011. Women and children were seen among his supporters, many of whom chanted and held pictures in support of their leader. Libyan forces fired machine-guns at mourners marching in a funeral for anti-government protesters in the eastern city of Benghazi Sunday, a day after commandos and foreign mercenaries loyal to longtime leader Moammar Gadhafi pummeled demonstrators with assault rifles and other heavy weaponry.

Western countries have expressed concern at the rising violence against demonstrators in Libya. British Foreign Secretary William Hague said he spoke to Seif al-Islam by phone and told him that the country must embark on "dialogue and implement reforms," the Foreign Office said.

In his speech, the younger Gadhafi conceded the army made some mistakes during the protests because the troops were not trained to deal with demonstrators, but he added that the number of dead had been exaggerated, giving a death toll of 84.

He offered to put forward reforms within days that he described as a "historic national initiative" and said the regime was willing to remove some restrictions and begin discussions for a constitution.

He offered to change a number of laws, including those covering the media and the penal code.

He threatened to "eradicate the pockets of sedition" and said the army will play a main role in restoring order. He blamed Islamists, thugs, drunks and drug abusers and foreigners of being behind the unrest.

The rebellion by Libyans frustrated with Gadhafi's more than 40 years of authoritarian rule has spread to more than a half-dozen eastern cities.

In other setbacks for Gadhafi's regime, a major tribe in Libya - the Warfla - was reported to have turned against him and announced it was joining the protests against him, said Switzerland-based Libyan exile Fathi al-Warfali.

Although it had long-standing animosity toward the Libyan leader, it had been neutral for most of the past two decades.

Libya's representative to the Arab League said he resigned his post to protest the government's decision to fire on defiant demonstrators in Benghazi.

The Internet has been largely shut down, residents can no longer make international calls from land lines and journalists cannot work freely, but eyewitness reports trickling out of the country suggested that protesters were fighting back more forcefully against the Middle East's longest-serving leader.

Video footage posted on the Internet on Monday showed cars in Benghazi honking their horns in celebrations while protesters chanted, "Long live Libya" and "Libya is all one."

Several witnesses said police and security forces had disappeared from the streets and protesters were in control after heavy clashes the day before.

Youth volunteers were directing traffic and guarding homes and public facilities, said Najla, a lawyer and university lecturer in Benghazi, who spoke on condition she be identified only by her first name.

Protesters also took over the Katiba, the city's main security headquarters, and some had looted weapons, a female resident said.

"Now there is no sight of government officials, police or any presence of the government in the streets," she said.

Inside the large Katiba compound, protesters found the bodies of 13 uniformed security officers who had been handcuffed and shot in the head, then set on fire, said Ahmed Hassan, a doctor at Al Jalaa hospital who was among those who found the bodies.

He said protesters believed the 13 had been executed by fellow security forces for refusing to attack protesters.

Fighting erupted Sunday in the city following funeral ceremonies for protesters killed the day before.

Crowds marched down the city's highway running along the Mediterranean coast, then protesters began to attack the Katiba and police station as security forces opened fire.

In some cases, army units reportedly turned against security forces and pro-Gadhafi militias to side with the protesters.

Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, a 42-year-old Benghazi merchant, said he say an army battalion chasing militiamen from a security compound. Najla, the university lecturer, said a local unit of commandos joined the protesters.

Khaled Abu Bakr, a resident of Sabratha, an ancient Roman city to the west of Tripoli, said protesters besieged the local security headquarters, driving out police and setting it on fire. Abu Bakr said residents are in charge, have set up neighborhood committees to secure their city.

The Cardinal Crisis
Libyan leader Mu'ammar Kadhafi remained defiant March 1, 2011 despite losing control of virtually all of eastern Libya and parts of the west. In the town of Jadu and on the road towards Zintan, AFPTV filmed images of anti-Kadhafi protests and evidence of widespread unrest, with burnt-out cars dotting the landscape.

Bloodshed Rages On In Libya

Reuters reports

Tripoli -- Libya's veteran ruler, Mu'ammar Gaddafi, faces one of his severest challenges amid protests by thousands in the second city of Benghazi and reports that more than 2,000+ people have been killed by security forces.

Libya could descend into civil war unless Gadhafi quits, the United States said Tuesday, March 1, its demand for his departure, intensifying pressure on the longtime leader after news of Western military preparations.

But Gadhafi remained defiant, dispatching forces to a western border area amid fears that the most violent Arab revolt may grow bloodier and spark a humanitarian crisis.

The demonstrations against his four decades in power were unprecedented with Amnesty International saying hundreds of people had been killed in the crackdown.

Any new funerals of dead protesters would likely act as further flash-points for demonstrators emboldened by uprisings in neighboring Tunisia and Egypt that toppled long-ruling presidents.

His son, Saif al-Islam, warned the West against launching any military action to topple Gadhafi, and said the veteran ruler would not step down or go into exile.

"Using force against Libya is not acceptable. There's no reason, but if they want ... we are ready, we are not afraid," he told Sky television, adding:

"We live here, we die here."

In Moscow, a Kremlin source suggested Gadhafi, whose authority has unraveled in much of the vast desert country, should step down, calling him a "living political corpse."

While the unrest has not previously been seen before in the oil exporter, Libya-watchers say the situation is different from Egypt, because Gadhafi has oil cash to smooth over social problems.

Gadhafi is also respected in much of the country, though less so in the Cyrenaica region around Benghazi.

"For sure there is no national uprising," according to Noman Benotman, a former opposition Libyan Islamist who is based in Britain but is currently in Tripoli.

"I don't think Libya is comparable to Egypt or Tunisia. Gadhafi would fight to the very last moment," he said by telephone from the Libyan capital.

Nonetheless, tight government control and media restrictions have limited the amount of information emerging about the unrest.

Qatar-based news channel Al Jazeera said its signal was being jammed on several frequencies and its website had been blocked in Libya.

On March 1, 2011, in prepared testimony to lawmakers in Washington, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said:

"Libya could become a peaceful democracy or it could face protracted civil war."

The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, said Washington would apply pressure on Gadhafi until he bows out, working to stabilize oil prices and avert a humanitarian crisis.

Susan Rice, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, speaks at the U.N. General Assembly after a vote to kick Libya off the U.N. Human Rights Council on March 1, 2011 at U.N. headquarters in New York. The full membership of the U.N. suspended Libya from the Council in the latest international effort to isolate Mu'ammar Gadhafi's government for its violent attacks on civilian protesters.

Rice stopped short of saying the Obama administration was ready to impose a no-fly zone over Libya that would prevent Gadhafi using aircraft against rebels fighting against him.

On Feb. 28, 2011 the United States said it was moving ships and planes closer to the oil-producing North African state.

The destroyer USS Barry moved through the Suez Canal on Monday and into the Mediterranean.

Two amphibious assault ships, the USS Kearsarge, which can carry 2,000 Marines, and the USS Ponce, are in the Red Sea and are expected to go through the canal early on Wednesday.

French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe sounded a note of caution, saying foreign military intervention in Libya would not happen without a clear United Nations mandate.

British Prime Minister David Cameron said it was unacceptable that "Colonel Gadhafi can be murdering his own people using airplanes and helicopter gunships."

Amnesty quoted sources at a hospital in Benghazi, the focus for the violence, as saying the most common injuries were gunshot wounds to the head, chest and neck.

Officials have given no death toll, or commented directly on the unrest.

"This alarming rise in the death toll, and the reported nature of the victims' injuries, strongly suggests that security forces are permitted lethal use of force against unarmed protesters calling for political change," Amnesty said.

The privately owned Quryna newspaper said that in Benghazi thousands of residents had gathered on Friday for the funeral processions of 14 protesters killed in clashes there.

Thousands more had demonstrated in front of Benghazi court building.

Opposition activists said protesters fought troops for control of the nearby town of Al Bayda, scene of some of the worst violence, where townspeople said they were burying 14 people who were killed in earlier clashes.

Residents said the streets were calm but there were conflicting accounts about whether opposition activists or security forces were in control of the town.

Ashour Shamis, a London-based Libyan journalist, said protesters had stormed Benghazi's Kuwafiyah prison and freed dozens of political prisoners. Quryna said 1,000 prisoners had escaped and 150 had been recaptured.

BREAD LINES FORMING

Tripoli is a clear Gadhafi stronghold, but even in the capital, loyalties are divided.

Many on the streets on Tuesday expressed loyalty but one man who described himself as a military pilot said: "One hundred percent of Libyans don't like him."

There were queues outside bread shops on Tuesday morning. Some residents said many shops were limiting the number of loaves customers could buy.

In Geneva, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on world powers to fully implement a U.N. Security Council resolution on Libya.

The text, adopted on Saturday, includes a freeze on Mu'ammar Gadhafi's assets and travel ban and refers his regime's brutal crackdown to the International Criminal Court.

Libya's National Oil Corporation said output had halved because of the departure of foreign workers.

Brent crude prices pushed above $115 a barrel as supply disruptions and the potential for more unrest in the Middle East and North Africa kept investors on edge.

At Ras Jdir on the border with Tunisia, border guards fired into the air to try to control a crowd of people clamoring to get through a frontier crossing to escape the violence.

About 70,000 people have passed through the Ras Jdir frontier crossing in the past two weeks, and in the last few days the rate has increased to up to 15,000 per day, said Ayman Gharaibeh, an officer with the U.N. refugee agency.

Revolutions in neighboring Tunisia and Egypt have helped to ignite resentment of four decades of often bloody political repression under Gadhafi as well as his failure to use Libyan oil wealth to tackle widespread poverty and lack of opportunity.

REBELS CLAIM THEIR STRENGTH IS GROWING

Rebel fighters claimed the balance of the conflict was swinging their way.

"Our strength is growing and we are getting more weapons. We are attacking checkpoints," said Yousef Shagan, a spokesman in Zawiyah, only 50 km (30 miles) from Tripoli.

A rebel army officer in the eastern city of Ajdabiyah said rebel units were becoming more organized.

"All the military councils of Free Libya are meeting to form a unified military council to plan an attack on Gadhafi security units, militias and mercenaries," Captain Faris Zwei said.

Rebels guarding a munitions store near Ajdabiyah said they feared a direct hit by Gadhafi's warplanes could cause destruction for miles around.

But despite the widespread collapse of Gadhafi's writ, his forces were fighting back in some regions.

A reporter on the Tunisian border saw Libyan troops reassert control at a crossing that was abandoned on February 28, 2011 and residents of Nalut, about 60 km (35 miles) from the border, said pro-Gadhafi forces deployed to retake control there.

Mohamed, a resident of rebel-held Misrata, told Reuters by phone:

"Symbols of Gadhafi's regime have been swept away from the city. Only a (pro-Gadhafi) battalion remains at the city's air base but they appear to be willing to negotiate safe exit out of the air base.

We are not sure if this is genuine or just a trick to attack the city again."

Across the country, tribal leaders, officials, military officers and army units have defected to the rebels. Sanctions will squeeze his access to funds.

CALM IN TRIPOLI?
Libya's longtime strongman Colonel Mu'ammar Gadhafi will seek to maintain an "atmosphere of fear" to quell protests, says Middle East analyst Ash Jain (pictured) said in comments Feb. 18, 2011, on the ongoing unrest in the Gulf and Middle East regions.

Quryna newspaper quoted unnamed sources as saying the General People's Congress, or parliament, would adopt a "major shift" in government policy including appointing new people to senior positions.

It gave no details and the sources could not be clarified.

At sermons during Friday prayers in Tripoli, broadcast on state television, urged people to ignore reports in foreign media "which doesn't want our country to be peaceful, which ... is the aim of Zionism and imperialism, to divide our country."

Text messages sent to mobile phone subscribers thanked people who ignored calls to join protests:

"We congratulate our towns which understood that interfering with national unity threatens the future of generations," it said.

Two people in Benghazi, which is about 1,000 km (600 miles) east of Tripoli, told Reuters early in the day that Saadi Gadafi, a son of the Libyan leader and ex-professional soccer player in Italy, had taken over command of the city.

General James Mattis, commander of U.S. Central Command, told a Senate hearing that imposing a no-fly zone would be a "challenging" operation that would mean actual attack.

"You would have to remove air defense capability in order to establish a no-fly zone, so no illusions here," he said. "It would be a military operation - it wouldn't be just telling people not to fly airplanes."

Analysts said Western leaders are in no mood to rush into conflict after the troubled, drawn-out involvements in Afghanistan and Iraq.

"They will be desperate not to place themselves in that situation, unless not doing so would result in even worse massacres," said Shashank Joshi of London's Royal United Services Institute.

Suspicions grew that Gadafi, a survivor of past coup attempts, did not grasp the scale of the forces against him.

"All my people love me," he told the ABC network and the BBC on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, dismissing the significance of a rebellion that has ended his control over much of oil-rich eastern Libya.

Mundane Analysis
Globalcrats, Libya, Oil & Mu'ammar Gadhafi:
Uranus In Play
Colonel Mu'ammar Gadhafi

By Theodore White, mundane Astrolog.S

The most dangerous times over the annals of world history are usually those years after a 'revolution' has taken place. Napoleon rose to power seven years after the French Revolution.

Stalin was ushered into power in the years following the Russian Revolution.

Hitler entered the halls of power in the wake of the collapse of the democratic Wiemar Republic in Germany

The one difference was the American Revolution. This was because the Founding Fathers, well aware of this fact, instituted separation of powers and a Constitution that bars the rise of dictators.

It also helped that two of the main framers of the U.S. Constitution, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, were well versed in mundane astrology.

Much of behind-the-scenes intervention in the Middle East begs the question:

Just what is going on here?

From one end of the spectrum, we have autocratic leaders who have been running rich nation-oil states - Bahrain, Egypt, Libya, Saudi Arabia and Yemen - for decades, with the express approval of western governments who now claim 'democracy' must come to the Middle East.

What happened to 'democracy' in these nations in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s?

The complexity of forces vying to alter the geopolitical map does not bode well for the future. Much of what is happening would have occurred naturally according to astrological transits.

However, the dying oligarchy and the outgoing establishment of baby boomers seem to think they can alter the future by forcing geopolitical matters prematurely.

What they are unaware of is the fact that their actions have serious world consequences down the road - and unintended ones at that - which Generation X will have to deal.

Though no one is asking the soon-to-be establishment what they think about the diverse list of messes not created by them, but about to be dumped on their generational laps - you can bet that the dying oligarchy and their spawn of boomers in the establishment probably don't give a shit.

And that should worry anyone under the age of 50.

So, here's a geopolitical view that Generation X may be interested in knowing about, because when all is said and done, it will be Gen X whom will have inherited this 'wonderful geopolitical gift' from a dead oligarchy and elderly baby boomers.

The Anglo-American "globocrat" establishment is no longer hiding its support for the now admittedly armed rebellion spreading across Libya.

The rebellion has been met by a defiant Qaddafi who may have more support than the corporate owned media has revealed and the rebels may need "extra" assistance from their Western sponsors, lest they end up in a "Bay of Pigs-like" scenario.

While Libyan opposition leader Ibrahim Sahad leads the rhetorical charge from Washington D.C., his National Front for the Salvation of Libya (NFSL) on the ground is armed to the teeth, as it has been throughout its 20 year history of attempted CIA backed rebellions against Qaddafi.

In 1984, the NFSL tried to overthrow Qaddafi in a failed armed coup. The Daily Globe and Mail also recently confirmed that the NFSL along with the Libyan National Army, both under Sahad's new National Conference of Libyan Opposition (NCLO), had both "attempted coups and assassinations against Col. Gadhafi in the 1980s."

By the corporate media's own admissions then, Qaddafi is not battling unarmed civilians, but heavily armed, foreign backed militants who may yet have their efforts augmented with US air cover and additional arms deliveries.

The rhetorical calls from the globalist think-tanks and the likes of Libya's Ibrahim Sahad for a no-fly zone have now shifted over to globalist yes-men like David Cameron and Hillary Clinton who claim military assets are being moved into place.

Senator Lieberman during a joint CNN interview with Senator McCain, went as far as repeatedly and openly calling for additional arms to be sent to rebel groups on the ground, recognizing them as the legitimate government, as well as repeating the call for the no-fly zone already on the table.

McCain built on Lieberman's statements claiming the US should "stand up for democracy" not only across the Arab world but as far as China as well, confirming the scale and reach of the globalists' agenda.

UK PM David Cameron has also called for providing additional arms to rebel leaders, clarifying the globalist consensus and ensuring a protracted bloodbath ensues.

With characters like Lieberman already calling for the recognition of the "revolutionary government," Ibrahim Sahad's NCLO and the various groups that fall under it will undoubtedly constitute Libya's new government should Qaddafi fall.

How the rest of Libya takes the new government is unknown, with Libya itself being precariously cobbled together and Qaddafi's rule being one of the few common denominators that makes Libya - "Libya."

Libya consists of various tribes, Berbers and Arabs, African refugees, as well as expatriate work forces from China and South Asia, all combined under Qaddafi and his localized revolutionary committees.

When they fall, chaos and infighting will ensue and the blood soaked catastrophe that the West has triggered will only be compounded.

Foreigner workers have been leaving the country by the thousands - these too are lives destroyed, forced to return to their home countries of China, Bangladesh, and neighboring nations in North Africa, jobless and with empty hands.

There are also the Libyan refugees already being turned back by the EU and now suffering in limbo.

While the West points the finger of blame at Qaddafi, they are the ones who triggered and are fueling the unrest.

By supplying weapons, providing air cover, and recognizing armed rebels as the legitimate government of Libya, they are now compounding the consequences of this engineered conflagration.

From the corporate owned media, to the corporate sponsored think-tanks that supply them their talking points, to the puppet politicians standing behind the West's symbolic podiums of powers, they are the ones destroying Libya.

Be sure to thank these corporate combines in kind, the next time you address your shopping list by boycotting these multinational megalomaniacs

The British Telegraph reports March 1, 2011 that,

Police and aid workers dragged dozens of unconscious people from the seething tide of desperate migrant workers crushed up against the concrete wall that divides the two countries at the Ras Jedir frontier post, while soldiers have fired in the air to disperse gangs of criminals seeking to extort money from the refugees.

More than 75,000 people – mostly Egyptian migrant workers – have so far poured into Tunisia, and tens of thousands more are still trapped in Libya and struggling to get out.

Few of those who have arrived in Tunisia can afford the fare home, and Egypt has so far been unable to make arrangements for them to repatriate them.

"It looks like it's going to get worse," said Ayman Gharaibeh, an officer with the UNHCR, the United Nations refugee agency.

Most of the new arrivals are still sleeping rough, though aid workers are racing to erect transit camp to cope with 10,000 people. Some 500 tents have so far sprung up in the desert.

Even that, however, will house only a small fraction of the refugees. "Water and sanitation is a major issue, toilets are our next big headache," Mr Etyemezian said at the camp.

Let's take a look at world transits over Libya, and generally, the Middle East:

New Aries Moon Over Libya - April 3, 2011
click on chart to enlarge

The New Moon at 13-Aries on April 3, 2011 basically is a violent one. The lunation is in the Eighth Mundane House over the region in direct opposition to Saturn at 13-Libra, located in the Second Mundane House.

Jupiter is in opposition to Saturn, which is bad for business no doubt, as the contending forces continue their chess moves amid more bloodshed for the Libyan people.

We see Mercury retrograde at 23-Aries, also in the Eighth House, which muddies the waters with moves and counter-moves - back and forth - as entrenched forces battle it out for control over resources (Saturn in the Second House.)

Mars and Uranus, conjoined at 1-Aries, work towards an applying square to Pluto in Capricorn as a separating square to the North Lunar Node at 27-Sagittarius continues to indicate tension everywhere in the country, and the region.

The Full Moon, two weeks later exacerbates the situation.

Full Moon Over Libya - April 18, 2011

This lunation has transiting Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter in direct opposition to Saturn in Libra.

Opposing forces are still at it and the battles are more grievous, as a general state of civil war is clearly shown here.

The cardinality is powerful in that this is the beginning of the battles, even if the international media may want this conflict to come to a quick sitcom-end - this is not what is happening n the ground.

There's a lot at stake here, mainly oil reserves.

The situation includes 'outside forces' - in the shape of mercenaries and 'insiders' playing key roles.

Gadhafi sees this not as a 'civil war,' but as a coup against him, which would be natural, considering that he led one himself when he took power on September 1, 1969.

Over 38 years, I've read hundreds of thousands of horoscopes. I've lost count and don't even bother to keep track of how many I've charts I've cast, read and interpreted.

Yet, in all the many horoscopes I've read of historical figures and personalities, from Napoleon, to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin, I've got to say that Mu'ammar Gadhafi's nativity is on my list as one of the strangest.

Hitler was an all-out paranoid megalomaniac. Uranus sat on his Ascendant and one of his favorite words he used all the time was 'annihilate.'

But, contrary to popular opinion, Hitler did not 'take power,' but was rather, believe it or not, 'hired' as Germany's Chancellor, by those who thought they could  'manage' and 'hem Hitler in.'

Obviously, that strategy didn't work out too well.

Stalin was horribly abused by his own father from early childhood, and mainly his transits were those of a paranoid schizophrenic with homicidal tendencies.

Stalin once said, "Death is the solution to all problems - no man, no problem."

This basically sums up Stalin when you read his personal nativity. Another nut who had state power.

Nativities show where a person will come from when you deal with them. When I read nativities, I always see the 'weather' of the time cycle they were born into, and then progress their positions over time.

I've done the same with the horoscope of Mu'ammar Gadhafi.

There are several different spellings of his first and last name, by a wide variety of media sources, The British spell his name one way, Americans another, some use a "K" and others start his last name off with a "Q," while others use a "G."

I didn't even bother trying to go through the spellings of his first name.

If I decided to spend more time trying to discover just how this man's name is truly spelled, I would have never had the time to read his horoscope, yet another reminder to us of the wackiness of the times we observe in the world.

This is a sunrise chart for the birthday of Gadhafi.

The month June 1942 in which he was born was a very violent month.

Of course, this was at the height of the Second War World.

We can see this in the chart of the day of June 7, 1942 above, mainly with the entry of the Moon into violent Aries and the conjunction of Saturn and Uranus, both in tropical Gemini.

Events of June 1942

June 1 – WWII: Mexico declares war on Germany, Italy and Japan.

June 4 – WWII: Reinhard Heydrich succumbs to wounds sustained on May 27 from Czechoslovakian paratroopers acting in Operation Anthropoid.

June 4–June 7: WWII – The Battle of Midway: The Japanese naval advance in the Pacific is halted.

June 7 – WWII: Japanese forces invade the Aleutian Islands, the first invasion of American soil in 128 years. Mu'ammar Gadhafi is born.

June 8 – WWII: Attack on Sydney Harbor: The Australian cities of Sydney and Newcastle are shelled by Japanese submarines. The eastern suburbs of both cities are damaged and the east coast is blacked out.

June 9 – WWII: Nazis burn the entire Czech village of Lidice in reprisal for the killing of Reinhard Heydrich.

June 10 – WWII: The Gestapo massacres 173 male residents of Lidice, Czechoslovakia in retaliation for the killing of a Nazi official.

June 29 – The German Eleventh Army under Erich von Manstein takes Sevastopol, although fighting rages until July 9.

So, we see that the month of June 1942 was a particularly violent and chaotic month, and it is under these transits Mu'ammar Gadhafi was born.

The problem with this nativity is that it is steeped in deception, delusions, violence and outright aggression.

Gadafi's nativity, with his Moon just entering Aries, is in direct opposition to his natal Neptune, retrograde in Virgo.

This opposition has been one that has operated all his life, as a person with it will entertain impractical ideas in many sectors:

Religion, culture, in education and business affairs, as well as applying confusing and deceptive tactics and reasoning to either distort facts, or to be distorted by them.

The era he was born into - that of World War Two - was one of the application of deception and violence to achieve objectives. This is common in warfare. Competing sides use whatever means they can to obtain the overwhelming advantage and will do so with deadly force.

Mu'ammar Gadhafi was born into this era, where violence was used to oppress, threaten and suppress others by any means necessary.

He was also born into an era that used deceptive means to gain the advantage using a singularly 'revolutionary' philosophy as the basis for the use of force to achieve objectives.

This nativity also shows the mismanagement of resources by the Moon-Neptune opposition (oil, gas and water) along with a diversity of financial problems due to fluctuations from poor decision-making.

This was the same problem that occurred in 1942 for Adolf Hitler, who allowed his own perverted political philosophy to take his mind off of the problems of energy resources to fuel the Wehrmacht.

Gadhafi's secondary progressions show that his Progressed Mars has conjoined his North Lunar Node in Virgo, so he is going to fight it out, as he has stated to the international media.

He believes he has staying power and will resist calls for him to step down.

Moreover, his progressed Moon is now in Virgo, conjoined to his natal Neptune, which increases his resolve as 'brother leader,' which he truly believes he is and always has been since he took power on September 1, 1969.

A revolutionary of the times, Gadhafi took power at the time Uranus made a key turn at the autumnal equinox point.

What is unusual about this is that Uranus had just entered Libra in 1969, which by September 1, 2011, means that 42 years will have passed since he took hold of the reins of power in Libya as a 'revolutionary' leader.

Uranus will reach its opposition to Libya's 1969 revolution this month and will remain in opposition throughout all of 2011.

Transiting Uranus in Aries will conjoin Gadhafi's natal Aries Moon all of 2011. This conjunction can incline a person towards impulsive, sudden and radical behavior. Up one day and down the other.

The conjunction is hostile, electric, and rebellious, to say the least.

Gadhafi's progressed Moon is heading towards Libra, where it will oppose his natal Aries Moon as well as transiting Uranus in Aries.

Gadhafi's nativity and his secondary progressions, clearly show he will not give up state power without a prolonged fight.

There are avenues out of the quandary, however the illusory combination of progressed Moon to Neptune to natal Aries Moon with Uranus in play, serves to confuse situations amid deceptive and highly impulsive energies which are violent.

To prove this point, on March 2, 2011, Gadhafi was quoted by the Associated Press,

"In the capital of Tripoli, Gadhafi warned against U.S. or other Western intervention, vowing to turn Libya into 'another Vietnam,' and saying any foreign troops coming into his country 'will be entering hell and they will drown in blood.'

This is consistent with Gadhafi's nativity. He sees himself in the manner of a modern-day 'Che Guvera,' fighting what he considers to be the 'forces of evil' ranged against him.

The situation, should it continue to be stretched out, could easily lead to western forces looking to intervene with military strength in this important region of the world.

Transiting Uranus, now in Aries, signals that as prolonged as the battle for Libya may turn out to be, the complexity and determination of all interests and forces involved, will yield even more bloodshed in the days, weeks and months ahead.

'Friday of Rage' In Yemen Leaves Four Dead

Security forces clashed with anti-government protesters in Yemen calling for the ouster of the president. Police have shot and killed two protesters in the Yemeni city of Aden as unrest in the capital Sanaa against President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The fatalities were among three people taken to Naqib hospital in Aden. Medics said both fatalities died of their wounds.

SANAA, Yemen – On what was billed by protest organizers as a "Friday of Rage" across Yemen, anti-government demonstrators clashed with supporters of the country's longtime ruler and riot police, who fired tear gas and gunshots.

Four people were killed by police in the port of Aden and 48 were wounded in the southern city of Taiz when someone threw what appeared to be a hand grenade into a crowd, witnesses said.

It was the ninth straight day of protests in Yemen inspired by uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia.

Demonstrators are calling for the ouster of President Ali Abdullah Saleh - who has ruled the country for 32 years.

U.S. President Barack Obama condemned the reported violence in response to protests in Yemen, as well as Bahrain and Libya.

Obama urged those governments to respect the rights of peacefully demonstrating citizens, and he expressed condolences to the families of those killed.

The U.S. Embassy in Sanaa said it has seen "a disturbing rise in the number and violence of attacks against Yemeni citizens" at peaceful protests.

It added that diplomats also saw reports of Yemen government officials "present during these attacks," which it called "contrary to the commitments that President Saleh has made to protect the right of Yemeni citizens to gather peacefully to express their views."

Saleh is already facing a restless population, with threats from al-Qaida militants who want to oust him, a southern secessionist movement and a sporadic armed rebellion in the north.

To try to quell the new outbursts of dissent, Saleh pledged to meet some of the protesters' demands and has reached out to tribal chiefs, who are a major base of support for him.

But a key chief from Saleh's own tribe was critical of his policies and threatened to join the protesters - an apparent attempt to pressure the embattled leader of the world's poorest Arab country.

For now, most of the protesters are students, educated professionals and activists who used social media sites Facebook and Twitter in summoning people to the streets for the 'Friday of Rage' following noon prayers.

Tens of thousands responded in the capital of Sanaa, the southern port of Aden and the political hotbed of Taiz. Some websites also referred to the day as "Friday of the Beginning."

In a change, many mosque preachers took a critical tone toward the government.

A preacher at the Sanaa University mosque spoke out against violence against demonstrators, telling many protesters who had gathered there:

"We have been living for 30 years without purpose or hope."

Another Sanaa preacher, Imam Abdel Raqib Obad, urged people to join the protests and criticized security forces for "battling" youths.

Imam Jabri Al Yamani admonished the crowd that "protests must be peaceful and not scare and harm the people," but as demonstrators marched toward the presidential palace afterward, the scene descended into violence.

The crowd, chanting anti-government slogans, was met by a heavy deployment of riot police and hundreds of Saleh supporters, similar to confrontations earlier this week.

The pro-and anti-government sides attacked each other with rocks, and the riot police began firing in the air and launching tear gas canisters.

At least four people were hurt seriously enough to be taken away by ambulances.

The demonstrators dispersed to other streets, some of which were blocked by police.

The death toll in south Yemen clashes between anti-regime demonstrators and police has risen to three, with at least 19 people wounded, a medical official said.

Journalists also came under attack by government supporters.

An Associated Press reporter saw men with sticks attack a TV crew, smashing their camera.

Other journalists and photographers took refuge in a building to avoid the mob.

In Taiz, about 270 miles (435 kilometers) south of Sanaa, the call for demonstrations brought out thousands of people.

Witnesses said men in a speeding civilian car threw what appeared to be a grenade into a crowd of demonstrators, causing a stampede when it exploded.

At least 48 protesters were seriously wounded, and many others were hurt as they fell in the stampede and chaos, according to medical officials and Ghazi al-Samie, a lawyer and activist in Taiz, Yemen's second-largest city.

In Aden, protesters burned four government cars and a local council building. The clashes continued well after sundown, when protesters set a police storage area ablaze and burned tires.

The police fired into the crowd, using tear gas, rubber bullets and what some witnesses said was live ammunition.

Four protesters were killed - including two in their 20s who were shot - according to witnesses and medical officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the press.

At a meeting between Aden officials and Vice President Abd-Rabo Mansour Hadi, officials called for the resignation of the police chief, whom they held responsible for the violence, according to an official at the session speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the details.

A large demonstration also was reported in eastern Hadramawt province, where police fired in the air to disperse protesters.

The violence forced international soccer officials to postpone Yemen's Feb. 23 home qualifying match for the 2012 Olympics against Singapore. The match, in Sanaa, was put off until March 2.

Saleh, a weak but important partner for Washington, had pledged not to seek re-election in 2013 or pass power to his son.

The promise was seen as an attempt to defuse calls for his ouster. Opposition groups said they are suspicious of Saleh's offer and want concrete proposals for change.

Tribal chief Hussein al-Ahmar, a member of Saleh's tribe, told a crowd in his home province Thursday that if violence against protesters continued, his tribesmen may come in to the defense of the demonstrators.

The threat, apparently aimed to get more concessions from Saleh, could turn the protests more violent. Al-Ahmar's tribe, Hashed, is one of the largest and best-armed in Yemen.

"It is not the armed forces, nor Saleh and his army that protect Sanaa, but the tribes of Hashed," Al-Ahmar told the crowd in Amran province.

"If the authorities continue to scare the protesters with their thugs, we will have to interfere," he said.

Nearly half of Yemen's population lives below the poverty line of $2 a day and its government is riddled with corruption.

The country also is plagued by shrinking water and oil resources and an inability to feed its people. Poverty and malnutrition are rampant in the country's rugged hinterlands.

I continue to state that the Cardinal Crisis years are historic and require serious minding.

These are years for grown-ups, not the immature. These are not years for surface-feeders who prefer not to think for themselves, nor is it for the 'political correct,' or for those who depend on 'books for dummies.'

The decade of the Twenty-Tens are for serious, mature people.

We've already had a taste of this in 2008 and 2010. There is more to come. Watch and see for yourself if you do not believe me.

Those who take these world transits lightly, or not at all, surely they are ignorant of the world as it is, and, the world as it will come to be.

Mundane astrologers over the centuries have been consulted by monarchs and serious policymakers alike to ascertain what celestial forces would be in play that affected their nations.

This was before the advent of the talking head policy analyst and egotistical self-absorbed Machiavellians, whom while ignoring world transits, chose rather to give their opinions to leaders without a thought as to effectiveness or reliable outcomes.

They tell leaders anything to stay in favor and when their 'forecasts' do not occur, they blame the leader.

Today, many obey the ramblings of supercomputers churning out 'scenarios' but that cannot forecast a hot bowl of soup on a cold winter's day.

One of the reasons I say to my clients that much of what has been happening to their lives over the past several years isn't their fault, is because of what I've seen - and continue to see - in world transits.

For years, during the so-called "great" economy of the late 1990s and 2000s, I would tell anyone who would listen that there was so much corruption going down that it was mind-boggling.

Of course, this was all coming from an astrologer, (roll your eyes) so some people merely poo poohed me off as some kind of quack.

We astrologers get that sometimes from people who are so clueless as to the facts of the inclinations of planetary transits and their signs.

Yet, I continued to say to anyone who would  listen that there was so much corruption and malfeasance going down that near the end of the decade of the 2000s the cardinal crisis transits would introduce, directly into their personal and professional lives - the effects of all that corruption.

I said to people that they would be lucky to have a job, much less a society that allowed people to continue their middle-class existence in peace.

The sadness of seeing things before they happen for a mundane astrologer is literally like watching a whole series of major accidents around the world occur - in extremely slow motion.

I hate saying the words, "I told you so," but I've been saying exactly that to many people since 2008, when the transits of the outer planets earnestly began the configurations I had examined 20 years ago.

I was born and raised in the city that gave America its start. I greatly admire the Founding Fathers, especially Benjamin Franklin, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. As a boy, I breathed in all their words, their lives, and actions and it continues to sustain me to this very day.

What makes me sick to my very stomach are those who are contemptuous of the values, morals and standards that sustain all Americans and those who love and cherish representative democracy around the world.

Before you read on, you will not want to eat and you will need to mind your temper.

Because, if you are able to look into your children's eyes without emotion, if you have any sense of common decency, an ounce of righteous anger, American values, heck, even plain human values - if what you read next does not make you want to stretch some high-priced necks while flying the flag of Don't Tread On Me, and screaming for "Thomas Jefferson justice" - then you just ain't American.

The Egyptian people did that, and more - in just two weeks.

"Why Isn't Wall Street In Jail?"

By Matt Taibbi
Rolling Stone
Over drinks at a bar on a dreary, snowy night in Washington this past month, a former Senate investigator laughed as he polished off his beer.

"Everything's fucked up, and nobody goes to jail," he said. "That's your whole story right there. Hell, you don't even have to write the rest of it. Just write that."

I put down my notebook. "Just that?"

"That's right," he said, signaling to the waitress for the check.

"Everything's fucked up, and nobody goes to jail. You can end the piece right there."

Nobody goes to jail.

This is the mantra of the financial-crisis era, one that saw virtually every major bank and financial company on Wall Street embroiled in obscene criminal scandals that impoverished millions and collectively destroyed hundreds of billions, in fact - trillions of dollars of the world's wealth - and nobody went to jail.

Nobody, that is, except Bernie Madoff, a flamboyant and pathological celebrity con artist, whose victims happened to be other rich and famous people.

The rest of them, all of them, got off.

Not a single executive who ran the companies that cooked up and cashed in on the phony financial boom - an industry-wide scam that involved the mass sale of mis-marked, fraudulent mortgage-backed securities - has ever been convicted.

Their names by now are familiar to even the most casual Middle American news consumer:

Companies like AIG, Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America and Morgan Stanley.

From left, Lloyd C. Blankfein of Goldman Sachs, Jamie Dimon of JPMorgan Chase, John J. Mack of Morgan Stanley and Brian T. Moynihan of Bank of America.

Most of these firms were directly involved in elaborate fraud and theft.

Lehman Brothers hid billions in loans from its investors.

Bank of America lied about billions in bonuses

Goldman Sachs failed to tell clients how it put together the born-to-lose toxic mortgage deals it was selling.

What's more, many of these companies had corporate chieftains whose actions cost investors billions - from AIG derivatives chief Joe Cassano, who assured investors they would not lose even "one dollar" just months before his unit imploded - to the $263 million in compensation that former Lehman chief Dick "The Gorilla" Fuld conveniently failed to disclose.

Yet not one of them has faced time behind bars.

Invasion of the Home Snatchers?

Instead, federal regulators and prosecutors have let the banks and finance companies that tried to burn the world economy to the ground get off with carefully orchestrated settlements - whitewash jobs that involve the firms paying pathetically small fines without even being required to admit wrongdoing.

To add insult to injury, the people who actually committed the crimes almost never pay the fines themselves - banks caught defrauding their shareholders often use shareholder money to foot the tab of justice.

"If the allegations in these settlements are true," says Jed Rakoff, a federal judge in the Southern District of New York, "it's management buying its way off cheap, from the pockets of their victims."

To understand the significance of this, one has to think carefully about the efficacy of fines as a punishment for a defendant pool that includes the richest people on earth - people who simply get their companies to pay their fines for them.

Conversely, one has to consider the powerful deterrent to further wrongdoing that the state is missing by not introducing this particular class of people to the experience of incarceration.

"You put Lloyd Blankfein in pound-me-in-the-ass prison for one six-month term, and all this bullshit would stop, all over Wall Street," says a former congressional aide.

"That's all it would take. Just once."

But that hasn't happened.

Because the entire system set up to monitor and regulate Wall Street is fucked up.

Just ask the people who tried to do the right thing.

 Wall Street's Swindle?

Here's how regulation of Wall Street is supposed to work.

To begin with, there's a semi-gigantic list of public and quasi-public agencies ostensibly keeping their eyes on the economy, a dense alphabet soup of banking, insurance, S&L, securities and commodities regulators like the Federal Reserve, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC), the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), as well as supposedly "self-regulating organizations" like the New York Stock Exchange.

All of these outfits, by law, can at least begin the process of catching and investigating financial criminals, though none of them has prosecutorial power.

The major federal agency on the Wall Street beat is the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The SEC watches for violations like insider trading, and also deals with so-called 'disclosure violations' - i.e., making sure that all the financial information that publicly traded companies are required to make public actually jibes with reality.

But the SEC doesn't have prosecutorial power either, so in practice, when it looks like someone needs to go to jail, they refer the case to the Justice Department.

And since the vast majority of crimes in the financial services industry take place in Lower Manhattan, cases referred by the SEC often end up in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.

Thus, the two top cops on Wall Street are generally considered to be that U.S. attorney - a job that has been held by thunderous prosecutorial personae like Robert Morgenthau and Rudy Giuliani - and the SEC's director of enforcement.

The relationship between the SEC and the DOJ is necessarily close, even symbiotic.

Since financial crime-fighting requires a high degree of financial expertise - and since the typical drug-and-terrorism-obsessed FBI agent can't balance his own checkbook, let alone tell a synthetic CDO from a credit default swap - the Justice Department ends up leaning heavily on the SEC's army of 1,100 number-crunching investigators to make their cases.

In theory, it's a well-oiled, tag-team affair:

Billionaire Wall Street Asshole commits fraud, the NYSE catches on and tips off the SEC, the SEC works the case and delivers it to Justice, and Justice perp walks the Asshole out of Nobu, into a Crown Victoria and off to 36 months of push-ups, license-plate making and Salisbury steak.

That's the way it's supposed to work.

But a veritable mountain of evidence indicates that when it comes to Wall Street, the justice system not only sucks at punishing financial criminals, it has actually evolved into a highly effective mechanism for protecting financial criminals.

This institutional reality has absolutely nothing to do with politics or ideology - it takes place no matter who's in office or which party's in power.

To understand how the machinery functions, you have to start back at least a decade ago, as case after case of financial malfeasance was pursued too slowly or not at all, fumbled by a government bureaucracy that too often is on a first-name basis with its targets.

Indeed, the shocking pattern of non-enforcement with regard to Wall Street is so deeply ingrained in Washington that it raises a profound and difficult question about the very nature of our society:

Whether we have created a class of people whose misdeeds are no longer perceived as crimes, almost no matter what those misdeeds are.

The SEC and the Justice Department have evolved into a bizarre species of social surgeon serving this non-jailable class, expert not at administering punishment and justice, but at finding and removing criminal responsibility from the bodies of the accused.

The systematic lack of regulation has left even the country's top regulators frustrated.

Lynn Turner, a former chief accountant for the SEC, laughs darkly at the idea that the criminal justice system is broken when it comes to Wall Street.

"I think you've got a wrong assumption - that we even have a law-enforcement agency when it comes to Wall Street," he says.

In the hierarchy of the SEC, the chief accountant plays a major role in working to pursue misleading and phony financial disclosures.

Turner held the post a decade ago, when one of the most significant cases was swallowed up by the SEC bureaucracy.

In the late 1990s, the agency had an open-and-shut case against the Rite Aid drugstore chain, which was using diabolical accounting tricks to cook their books.

But instead of moving swiftly to crack down on such scams, the SEC shoved the case into the "deal with it later" file.

"The Philadelphia office literally did nothing with the case for a year," Turner recalls. "Very much like the New York office with Madoff."

The Rite Aid case dragged on for years - and by the time it was finished, similar accounting fiascoes at Enron and WorldCom had exploded into a full-blown financial crisis.

The same was true for another SEC case that presaged the Enron disaster.

The agency knew that appliance-maker Sunbeam was using the same kind of accounting scams to systematically hide losses from its investors.

But in the end, the SEC's punishment for Sunbeam's CEO, Al "Chainsaw" Dunlap - widely regarded as one of the biggest assholes in the history of American finance - was a fine of $500,000.

Dunlap's net worth at the time was an estimated $100 million.

The SEC also barred Dunlap from ever running a public company again - forcing him to retire with a mere $99.5 million.

Dunlap passed the time collecting royalties from his self-congratulatory memoir.

Its title: 'Mean Business''

Barf Bag Time

The pattern of inaction toward shady deals on Wall Street grew worse and worse after Turner left, with one slam-dunk case after another either languishing for years or disappearing altogether.

Perhaps the most notorious example involved Gary Aguirre, an SEC investigator who was literally fired after he questioned the agency's failure to pursue an insider-trading case against John Mack, now the chairman of Morgan Stanley and one of America's most powerful bankers.

Aguirre joined the SEC in September 2004.

Two days into his career as a financial investigator, he was asked to look into an insider-trading complaint against a hedge-fund megastar named Art Samberg.

One day, with no advance research or discussion, Samberg had suddenly started buying up huge quantities of shares in a firm called Heller Financial.

"It was as if Art Samberg woke up one morning and a voice from the heavens told him to start buying Heller," Aguirre recalls.

"And he wasn't just buying shares - there were some days when he was trying to buy three times as many shares as were being traded that day."

A few weeks later, Heller was bought by General Electric - and Samberg pocketed $18 million.

After some digging, Aguirre found himself focusing on one suspect as the likely source who had tipped Samberg off: John Mack, a close friend of Samberg's who had just stepped down as president of Morgan Stanley.

At the time, Mack had been on Samberg's case to cut him into a deal involving a spin-off of the tech company Lucent - an investment that stood to make Mack a lot of money.

"Mack is busting my chops" to give him a piece of the action, Samberg told an employee in an e-mail.

A week later, Mack flew to Switzerland to interview for a top job at Credit Suisse First Boston.

Among the investment bank's clients, as it happened, was a firm called Heller Financial.

We don't know for sure what Mack learned on his Swiss trip; years later, Mack would claim that he had thrown away his notes about the meetings.

But we do know that as soon as Mack returned from the trip, on a Friday, he called up his buddy Samberg.

The very next morning, Mack was cut into the Lucent deal - a favor that netted him more than $10 million.

And as soon as the market reopened after the weekend, Samberg started buying every Heller share in sight, right before it was snapped up by GE - a suspiciously timed move that earned him the equivalent of Derek Jeter's annual salary - for just a few minutes of work.

The deal looked like a classic case of insider trading.

But in the summer of 2005, when Aguirre told his boss he planned to interview Mack, things started getting weird.

His boss told him the case wasn't likely to fly, explaining that Mack had "powerful political connections."

(The investment banker had been a fund-raising "Ranger" for George Bush in 2004, and would go on to be a key backer of Hillary Clinton in 2008.)

Aguirre also started to feel pressure from Morgan Stanley, which was in the process of trying to rehire Mack as CEO.

At first, Aguirre was contacted by the bank's regulatory liaison, Eric Dinallo, a former top aide to Eliot Spitzer.

But it didn't take long for Morgan Stanley to work its way up the SEC chain of command.

Within three days, another of the firm's lawyers, Mary Jo White, was on the phone with the SEC's director of enforcement.

Former New York U.S. Attorney General Mary Jo White, left, watches a commercial during a press conference 10 years ago, seen here on June 14, 2000, in New York City. The commercial, which is no longer aired, was for a company involved in the largest FBI securities fraud case ever at the time.

In a shocking move that was later singled out by Senate investigators, the director actually appeared to reassure White, dismissing the case against Mack as "smoke" rather than "fire."

White, incidentally, was herself the former U.S. attorney of the Southern District of New York - one of the top cops on Wall Street.

Pause for a minute to take this in.

Aguirre, an SEC foot soldier, is trying to interview a major Wall Street executive - not handcuff the guy or impound his yacht, mind you, just talk to him.

In the course of doing so, he finds out that his target's firm is being represented not only by Eliot Spitzer's former top aide, but by the former U.S. attorney overseeing Wall Street, who is going four levels over his head to speak directly to the chief of the SEC's enforcement division - not Aguirre's boss, but his boss's boss's boss's boss.

Mack himself, meanwhile, was being represented by Gary Lynch, a former SEC director of enforcement.

Aguirre didn't stand a chance.

A month after he complained to his supervisors that he was being blocked from interviewing Mack...

He was summarily fired, without notice.

The case against Mack was immediately dropped.

All depositions canceled. No further subpoenas issued.

"It all happened so fast, I needed a seat belt," recalls Aguirre, who had just received a stellar performance review from his bosses.

The SEC eventually paid Aguirre a settlement of $755,000 for wrongful dismissal.

Rather than going after Mack, the SEC started looking for someone else to blame for tipping off Samberg.

(It was, Aguirre quips, "O.J.'s search for the real killers.")

It wasn't until a year later that the agency finally got around to interviewing Mack, who denied any wrongdoing.

The four-hour deposition took place on August 1st, 2006 - just days after the five-year statute of limitations on insider trading had expired in the case.

"At best, the picture shows extraordinarily lax enforcement by the SEC," Senate investigators would later conclude.

"At worse, the picture is colored with overtones of a possible cover-up."

Episodes like this help explain why so many Wall Street executives felt emboldened to push the regulatory envelope during the mid-2000s.

Over and over, even the most obvious cases of fraud and insider dealing got gummed up in the works, and high-ranking executives were almost never prosecuted for their crimes.

In 2003, Freddie Mac coughed up $125 million after it was caught misreporting its earnings by $5 billion; nobody went to jail.

In 2006, Fannie Mae was fined $400 million, but executives who had overseen phony accounting techniques to jack up their bonuses faced no criminal charges.

That same year, AIG paid $1.6 billion after it was caught in a major accounting scandal that would indirectly lead to its collapse two years later, but no executives at the insurance giant were prosecuted.

Saturn Opposes Uranus
Pluto Enters Capricorn

All of this behavior set the stage for the crash of 2008, when Wall Street exploded in a raging Dresden of fraud and criminality.

Yet the SEC and the Justice Department have shown almost no inclination to prosecute those most responsible for the catastrophe - even though they had insiders from the two firms whose implosions triggered the crisis, Lehman Brothers and AIG, who were more than willing to supply evidence against top executives.

In the case of Lehman Brothers, the SEC had a chance, six months before the crash to move against Dick Fuld, a man recently named the worst CEO of all time by Portfolio Magazine.

Former Lehman Brothers CEO Dick 'The Gorilla' Fuld

A decade before the crash, a Lehman lawyer named Oliver Budde was going through the bank's proxy statements and noticed that it was using a loophole involving Restricted Stock Units to hide tens of millions of dollars of Fuld's compensation.

Budde told his bosses that Lehman's use of RSUs was dicey at best, but they blew him off.

"We're sorry about your concerns," they told him, "but we're doing it."

Disturbed by such shady practices, the lawyer quit the firm in 2006.

Then, only a few months after Budde left Lehman, the SEC changed its rules to force companies to disclose exactly how much compensation in RSUs executives had coming to them.

"The SEC was basically like, 'We're sick and tired of you people fucking around - we want a picture of what you're holding,'" Budde says.

But instead of coming clean about eight separate RSUs that Fuld had hidden from investors, Lehman filed a proxy statement that was a masterpiece of cynical lawyering.

On one page, a chart indicated that Fuld had been awarded $146 million in RSUs.

But two pages later, a note in the fine print essentially stated that the chart did not contain the real number - which, it failed to mention - was actually $263 million more than the chart indicated.

"They fucked around even more than they did before," Budde says.

(The law firm that helped craft the fine print, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, would later receive a lucrative federal contract to serve as legal adviser to the TARP bailout.)

Budde decided to come forward.

In April 2008, he wrote a detailed memo to the SEC about Lehman's history of hidden stocks.

Shortly thereafter, he got a letter back that began, "Dear Sir or Madam."

It was an automated e-response.

"They blew me off," Budde says.

Over the course of that summer, Budde tried to contact the SEC several more times, and was ignored each time.

Finally, in the fateful week of September 15th, 2008, when Lehman Brothers cracked under the weight of its reckless bets on the subprime market and went into its final death spiral, Budde became seriously concerned.

If the government tried to arrange for Lehman to be pawned off on another Wall Street firm, as it had done with Bear Stearns, the U.S. taxpayer might wind up footing the bill for a company with hundreds of millions of dollars in concealed compensation.

So Budde again called the SEC, right in the middle of the crisis.

"Look," he told regulators. "I gave you huge stuff. You really want to take a look at this."
But the feds once again blew him off.

A young staff attorney contacted Budde, who once more provided the SEC with copies of all his memos.

He never heard from the agency again.

"This was like a mini-Madoff," Budde says.

"They had six solid months of warnings. They could have done something."

Three weeks later, Budde was shocked to see Fuld testifying before the House Government Oversight Committee and whining about how poor he was:

"I got no severance, no golden parachute," Fuld moaned.

When Rep. Henry Waxman, the committee's chairman, mentioned that he thought Fuld had earned more than $480 million, Fuld corrected him and said he believed it was only $310 million.

The true number, Budde calculated, was $529 million.

He contacted a Senate investigator to talk about how Fuld had misled Congress, but he never got any response.

Meanwhile, in a demonstration of the government's priorities, the Justice Department is proceeding full force with a prosecution of retired baseball player Roger Clemens for lying to Congress about getting a shot of steroids in his ass.

"At least Roger didn't screw over the world," Budde says, shaking his head.

Fuld has denied any wrongdoing, but his hidden compensation was only a ripple in Lehman's raging tsunami of misdeeds.

The investment bank used an absurd accounting trick called 'Repo 105' transactions to conceal $50 billion in loans on the firm's balance sheet.

(That's $50 billion, not million.)

But more than a year after the use of the Repo 105s came to light, there have still been no indictments in the affair.

While it's possible that charges may yet be filed, there are now rumors that the SEC and the Justice Department may take no action against Lehman.

If that's true, and there's no prosecution in a case where there's such overwhelming evidence - and where the company is already dead, meaning it can't dump further losses on investors or taxpayers - then it might be time to assume the game is up.

Failing to prosecute Fuld and Lehman would be tantamount to the state marching into Wall Street and waving the green flag on a new stealing season.

The most amazing non-case in the entire crash - the one that truly defies the most basic notion of justice when it comes to Wall Street super villains - is the one involving AIG and Joe Cassano - the nebbishy Patient Zero of the financial crisis.

 Who you lookin at?
AIG's Joe Cassano

As chief of AIGFP, the firm's financial products subsidiary, Cassano repeatedly made public statements in 2007 claiming that his portfolio of mortgage derivatives would suffer "no dollar of loss" - an almost comically obvious misrepresentation.

"God couldn't manage a $60 billion real estate portfolio without a single dollar of loss," says Turner, the agency's former chief accountant.

"If the SEC can't make a disclosure case against AIG, then they might as well close up shop."

As in the Lehman case, federal prosecutors not only had plenty of evidence against AIG - they also had an eyewitness to Cassano's actions who was prepared to tell all.

As an accountant at AIGFP, Joseph St. Denis had a number of run-ins with Cassano during the summer of 2007.

At the time, Cassano had already made nearly $500 billion worth of derivative bets that would ultimately blow up, destroy the world's largest insurance company, and trigger the largest government bailout of a single company in U.S. history.

He made many fatal mistakes, but chief among them was engaging in contracts that required AIG to post billions of dollars in collateral if there was any downgrade to its credit rating.

St. Denis didn't know about those clauses in Cassano's contracts, since they had been written before he joined the firm.

What he did know was that Cassano freaked out when St. Denis spoke with an accountant at the parent company, which was only just finding out about the time bomb Cassano had set.

After St. Denis finished a conference call with the executive, Cassano suddenly burst into the room and began screaming at him for talking to the New York office.

He then announced that St. Denis had been "deliberately excluded" from any valuations of the most toxic elements of the derivatives portfolio - thus preventing the accountant from doing his job.

What St. Denis represented was transparency - and the last thing Cassano needed was transparency.

Another clue that something was amiss with AIGFP's portfolio came when Goldman Sachs demanded that the firm pay billions in collateral, per the terms of Cassano's deadly contracts.

Such "collateral calls" happen all the time on Wall Street, but seldom against a seemingly solvent and friendly business partner like AIG.

And when they do happen, they are rarely paid without a fight.

So, St. Denis was shocked when AIGFP agreed to fork over gobs of money to Goldman Sachs, even while it was still contesting the payments - an indication that something was seriously wrong at AIG.

"When I found out about the collateral call, I literally had to sit down," St. Denis recalls. "I had to go home for the day."

After Cassano barred him from valuating the derivative deals, St. Denis had no choice but to resign. He got another job, and thought he was done with AIG.

But a few months later, he learned that Cassano had held a conference call with investors in December 2007.

During the call, AIGFP failed to disclose that it had posted $2 billion to Goldman Sachs following the collateral calls.

"Investors therefore did not know," the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission would later conclude, "that AIG's earnings were overstated - by $3.6 billion."

"I remember thinking, 'Wow, they're just not telling people,'" St. Denis says.

"I knew. I had been there. I knew they'd posted collateral."

A year later, after the crash, St. Denis wrote a letter about his experiences to the House Government Oversight Committee, which was looking into the AIG collapse.

He also met with investigators for the government, which was preparing a criminal case against Cassano.

But the case never went to court. Last May, the Justice Department confirmed that it would not file charges against executives at AIGFP.

Cassano, who has denied any wrongdoing, was reportedly told he was no longer a target.

Shortly after that, Cassano strolled into Washington to testify before the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission.

It was his first public appearance since the crash.
He has not had to pay back a single cent out of the hundreds of millions of dollars he earned selling his insane pseudo-insurance policies on subprime mortgage deals.

Now, out from under prosecution, he appeared before the FCIC and had the enormous balls to compliment his own business acumen, saying his atom-bomb swaps portfolio was, in retrospect, not that badly constructed.

"I think the portfolios are withstanding the test of time," he said.

"They offered him an excellent opportunity to redeem himself," St. Denis jokes.

In the end, of course, it wasn't just the executives of Lehman and AIGFP who got passes.

Virtually every one of the major players on Wall Street was similarly embroiled in scandal, yet their executives skated off into the sunset, uncharged and un-fined.

Goldman Sachs paid $550 million last year when it was caught defrauding investors with crappy mortgages, but no executive has been fined or jailed.

Not even Fabrice 'Fabulous Fab' Tourre - Goldman's outrageous Euro-douche who gleefully e-mailed a pal about the "surreal" transactions in the middle of a meeting with the firm's victims.

In a similar case, a sales executive at the German powerhouse Deutsche Bank got off on charges of insider trading; its general counsel at the time of the questionable deals, Robert Khuzami, now serves as director of enforcement for the SEC.

Another major firm, Bank of America, was caught hiding $5.8 billion in bonuses from shareholders as part of its takeover of Merrill Lynch.

The SEC tried to let the bank off with a settlement of only $33 million, but Judge Jed Rakoff rejected the action as a "facade of enforcement."

So the SEC quintupled the settlement - but it didn't require either Merrill or Bank of America to admit to wrongdoing.

Unlike criminal trials, in which the facts of the crime are put on record for all to see, these Wall Street settlements almost never require the banks to make any factual disclosures, effectively burying the stories forever.

"All this is done at the expense not only of the shareholders, but also of the truth," says Rakoff.

Goldman, Deutsche, Merrill, Lehman, Bank of America ... who did we leave out?

Oh, there's Citigroup, nailed for hiding some $40 billion in liabilities from investors.

Last July, the SEC settled with Citi for $75 million.

In a rare move, it also fined two Citi executives, former CFO Gary Crittenden and investor-relations chief Arthur Tildesley Jr.

Their penalties, combined, came to a whopping $180,000.

Throughout the entire crisis, in fact, the government has taken exactly one serious swing of the bat against executives from a major bank, charging two guys from Bear Stearns with criminal fraud over a pair of toxic subprime hedge funds that blew up in 2007, destroying the company and robbing investors of $1.6 billion.

Jurors had an e-mail between the defendants admitting that "there is simply no way for us to make money - ever" just three days before assuring investors that "there's no basis for thinking this is one big disaster."

Yet the case still somehow ended in acquittal - and the Justice Department hasn't taken any of the big banks to court since.

All of which raises an obvious question: Why the hell not?

Gary Aguirre, the SEC investigator who lost his job when he drew the ire of Morgan Stanley, thinks he knows the answer.

Last year, Aguirre noticed that a conference on financial law enforcement was scheduled to be held at the Hilton in New York on November 12th.

The list of attendees included 1,500 or so of the country's leading lawyers who represent Wall Street, as well as some of the government's top cops from both the SEC and the Justice Department.

Criminal justice, as it pertains to the Goldmans and Morgan Stanleys of the world, is not adversarial combat, with cops and crooks duking it out in interrogation rooms and courthouses.

Instead, it's a cocktail party between friends and colleagues who from month to month and year to year are constantly switching sides and trading hats.

At the Hilton conference, regulators and banker-lawyers rubbed elbows during a series of speeches and panel discussions, away from the rabble.

"They were chummier in that environment," says Aguirre, who plunked down $2,200 to attend the conference.

Aguirre saw a lot of familiar faces at the conference, for a simple reason:

Many of the SEC regulators he had worked with during his failed attempt to investigate John Mack had made a million-dollar pass through the 'Revolving Door,' going to work for the very same firms they used to police.

Aguirre didn't see Paul Berger, an associate director of enforcement who had rebuffed his attempts to interview Mack - maybe because Berger was tied up at his lucrative new job at Debevoise & Plimpton, the same law firm that Morgan Stanley employed to intervene in the Mack case.

But he did see Mary Jo White, the former U.S. attorney, who was still at Debevoise & Plimpton.

 Mary Jo White

He also saw Linda Thomsen, the former SEC director of enforcement who had been so helpful to White.

Thomsen had gone on to represent Wall Street as a partner at the prestigious firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Two of the government's top cops were there as well: Preet Bharara, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Robert Khuzami, the SEC's current director of enforcement.

Bharara had been recommended for his post by Chuck Schumer, Wall Street's favorite senator.

And both he and Khuzami had served with Mary Jo White at the U.S. attorney's office, before Mary Jo went on to become a partner at Debevoise.

What's more, when Khuzami had served as general counsel for Deutsche Bank, he had been hired by none other than Dick Walker, who had been enforcement director at the SEC when it slow-rolled the pivotal fraud case against Rite Aid.

"It wasn't just one rotation of the revolving door," says Aguirre.

"It just kept spinning. Every single person had rotated in and out of government and private service."

The Revolving Door isn't just a footnote in financial law enforcement.

Over the past decade, more than a dozen high-ranking SEC officials have gone on to lucrative jobs at Wall Street banks or white-shoe law firms, where partnerships are worth millions.

That makes SEC officials like Paul Berger and Linda Thomsen the equivalent of college basketball stars waiting for their first NBA contract.

Are you really going to give up a shot at the Knicks or the Lakers just to find out whether a Wall Street big shot like John Mack was guilty of insider trading?

"You take one of these jobs," says Turner, the former chief accountant for the SEC, "and you're fit for life."

Fit - and happy.

The banter between the speakers at the New York conference says everything you need to know about the level of chumminess and mutual admiration that exists between these supposed adversaries of the justice system.

At one point in the conference, Mary Jo White introduced Bharara, her old pal from the U.S. attorney's office.

"I want to first say how pleased I am to be here," Bharara responded.

Then, addressing White, he added, "You've spawned all of us.

"It's almost 11 years ago to the day that Mary Jo White called me and asked me if I would become an assistant U.S. attorney. So thank you, Dr. Frankenstein."

Next, addressing the crowd of high-priced lawyers from Wall Street, Bharara made an interesting joke.

"I also want to take a moment to applaud the entire staff of the SEC for the really amazing things they have done over the past year," he said.

"They've done a real service to the country, to the financial community, and not to mention a lot of your law practices."

Haw!

The line drew snickers from the conference of millionaire lawyers.

But the real fireworks came when Khuzami, the SEC's director of enforcement, talked about a new "cooperation initiative" the agency had recently unveiled, in which executives are being offered incentives to report fraud they have witnessed or committed.

From now on, Khuzami said, when corporate lawyers like the ones he was addressing want to know if their Wall Street clients are going to be charged by the Justice Department before deciding whether to come forward, all they have to do is ask the SEC.

"We are going to try to get those individuals answers," Khuzami announced, as to "whether or not there is criminal interest in the case - so that defense counsel can have as much information as possible in deciding whether or not to choose to sign up their client."

Aguirre, listening in the crowd, couldn't believe Khuzami's brazenness.

The SEC's enforcement director was saying, in essence, that firms like Goldman Sachs and AIG and Lehman Brothers will henceforth be able to get the SEC to act as a middleman between them and the Justice Department, negotiating fines as a way out of jail time.

Khuzami was basically outlining a four-step system for banks and their executives to buy their way out of prison.

"First, the SEC and Wall Street player make an agreement on a fine that the player will pay to the SEC," Aguirre says.

"Then the Justice Department commits itself to pass, so that the player knows he's 'safe.'

Third, the player pays the SEC.

And fourth, the player gets a pass from the Justice Department."

When I ask a former federal prosecutor about the propriety of a sitting SEC director of enforcement talking out loud about helping corporate defendants "get answers" regarding the status of their criminal cases, he initially doesn't believe it.

Then I send him a transcript of the comment.

"I am very, very surprised by Khuzami's statement, which does seem to me to be contrary to past practice - and not a good thing," the former prosecutor says.

Earlier this month, when Sen. Chuck Grassley found out about Khuzami's comments, he sent the SEC a letter noting that the agency's own enforcement manual not only prohibits such "answer getting," it even bars the SEC from giving defendants the Justice Department's phone number.

"Should counsel or the individual ask which criminal authorities they should contact," the manual reads, "staff should decline to answer, unless authorized by the relevant criminal authorities."

Both the SEC and the Justice Department deny there is anything improper in their new policy of cooperation:

"We collaborate with the SEC, but they do not consult with us when they resolve their cases," Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer assured Congress in January.

"They do that independently."

Around the same time that Breuer was testifying, however, a story broke that prior to the pathetically small settlement of $75 million that the SEC had arranged with Citigroup, Khuzami had ordered his staff to pursue lighter charges against the mega-bank's executives.

According to a letter that was sent to Sen. Grassley's office, Khuzami had a "secret conversation, without telling the staff, with a prominent defense lawyer who is a good friend" of his and "who was counsel for the company."

The unsigned letter, which appears to have come from an SEC investigator on the case, prompted the inspector general to launch an investigation into the charge.

All of this paints a disturbing picture of a closed and corrupt system, a timeless circle of friends that virtually guarantees a collegial approach to the policing of high finance.

Even before the corruption starts, the state is crippled by economic reality:

Since law enforcement on Wall Street requires serious intellectual firepower, the banks seize a huge advantage from the start by hiring away the top talent.

Budde, the former Lehman lawyer, says it's well known that all the best legal minds go to the big corporate law firms, while the "bottom 20 percent go to the SEC."

Which makes it tough for the agency to track devious legal machinations, like the scheme to hide $263 million of Dick Fuld's compensation.

"It's such a mismatch, it's not even funny," Budde says.

But even beyond that, the system is skewed by the irrepressible pull of riches and power.

If talent rises in the SEC or the Justice Department, it sooner or later jumps ship for those fat NBA contracts.

Or, conversely, graduates of the big corporate firms take sabbaticals from their rich lifestyles to slum it in government service for a year or two.

Many of those appointments are inevitably hand-picked by lifelong stooges for Wall Street like Chuck Schumer, who has accepted $14.6 million in campaign contributions from Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and other major players in the finance industry, along with their corporate lawyers.

As for President Obama, what is there to be said? Goldman Sachs was his number-one private campaign contributor.

He put a Citigroup executive in charge of his economic transition team, and he just named an executive of JP Morgan Chase, the proud owner of $7.7 million in Chase stock, his new chief of staff.

"The betrayal that this represents by Obama to everybody is just - we're not ready to believe it," says Budde, a classmate of the president from their Columbia days.

"He's really fucking us over like that? Really? That's really a JP Morgan guy, really?"

Which is not to say that the Obama era has meant an end to law enforcement.

On the contrary: In the past few years, the administration has allocated massive amounts of federal resources to catching wrongdoers - of a certain type.

Last year, the government deported 393,000 people, at a cost of $5 billion.

Since 2007, felony immigration prosecutions along the Mexican border have surged 77 percent; non-felony prosecutions by 259 percent.

In Ohio last month, a single mother was caught lying about where she lived to put her kids into a better school district.

The judge in the case tried to sentence her to 10 days in jail for fraud, declaring that letting her go free would "demean the seriousness" of the offenses.

So there you have it.

Illegal immigrants: 393,000.

Lying moms: One.

Bankers: Zero.

The math makes sense only because the politics are so obvious.

You want to win elections, you bang on the jailable class.

You build prisons and fill them with people for selling dime bags and stealing CD players.

But for stealing a billion dollars?

For fraud that puts a million people into foreclosure?

Pass.

It's not a crime. Prison is too harsh.

Get them to say they're sorry, and move on.

Oh, wait - let's not even make them say they're sorry.

That's too mean; let's just give them a piece of paper with a government stamp on it, officially clearing them of the need to apologize, and make them pay a fine instead.

But don't make them pay it out of their own pockets, and don't ask them to give back the money they stole.

In fact, let them profit from their collective crimes, to the tune of a record $135 billion in pay and benefits last year.

billion+ in cash

What's next? Taxpayer-funded massages for every Wall Street executive guilty of fraud?

The mental stumbling block, for most Americans, is that financial crimes don't feel real; you don't see the culprits waving guns in liquor stores or dragging co-eds into bushes.

But these frauds are worse than common robberies.

They're crimes of intellectual choice, made by people who are already rich and who have every conceivable social advantage, acting on a simple, cynical calculation:

Let's steal whatever we can, then dare the victims to find the juice to reclaim their money through a captive bureaucracy.

They're attacking the very definition of property - which, after all, depends in part on a legal system that defends everyone's claims of ownership equally.

When that definition becomes tenuous or conditional - when the state simply gives up on the notion of justice - this whole American Dream thing recedes even further from reality.

~

So there you have it.

Which makes our next barf section even easier to believe, since truth these days is surely stranger than any fiction one could ever conjure up.

Please consider,

The Cardinal Crisis
John Paulson & Company Makes $2.4 Million An Hour While 28 Million Americans Need Jobs?

That's the kind of city I was raised up in Philadelphia, where we all know that that is exactly how we won the American Revolutionary War.

This is also the point many Americans are nearly at today. We Philadelphians can surely relate.

Recently, it become known that John Paulson, manager of the hedge fund Paulson & Co., had a personal income of $5 billion dollars in 2010.

Now, with a true unemployment rate at near 23%, and as a result, tens of millions of Americans have been forced to survive on the basics, Paulson, according to the math, makes $155.55 per second.

How is that even possible?

John Paulson

It was reported that 25 of the top hedge fund managers collected an average of $1 billion dollars in the fiscal year of 2009.

The last name of this esteemed group made only $325 million.

And, from the content of Matt Taibbi's report for Rolling Stone, we know that via their "special relationships" with Washington insiders the path to ever more "earnings" comes by favor of a highly-greased track to ever more wealth that the average American could never even dream to make in several lifetimes.

When I see such things and look at the astrological transits, such as John Paulson's horoscope, I wonder - just how is this possible in times where the majority of people have lost money, but a few gain more than they will ever need in one lifetime?

Yes, America is a great country where one can make their wealth. But $5 billion? And remember, John Paulson is not Bill Gates, who actually lived on pizza while he and his group struggled to make Microsoft into what it is today.

Some of us know the history of Robber Barons. These are people who consume more than they produce and who make their money off the demise of others.

But it's been said that even the robber barons of 19th century America at least had the creativity to earn through their industry, building new railroads and steel plants for instance.

Here's what writer Ken Moyle says about this:

"They (robber barons) use highly leveraged speculation (a euphemism for gambling) on commodities, currencies and markets to manipulate and distort the original intent of the hedging process.

They have at their disposal expensive banks of high-speed computers that employ sophisticated mathematical algorithms to prey on small differences in market prices in order to realize massive profits in the blink of an eye.

Another ploy is to take successful public companies private in order to strip their assets, after which they sell off the struggling and heavily indebted remnants.

All of these activities are designed to extract short-term profits at the expense of individuals and companies who are staying the course hoping for long-term investment growth.

They will proclaim that their role is to "make the market more efficient," but it's hard to understand why this efficiency involves siphoning off billions of dollars out of our many pockets into a few of theirs.

Since hedge fund managers take 20 percent of the profits that their funds generate, the top 25 funds produced profits of at least $125 billion in 2009, and you can bet the booty will be much higher in 2010.

We are a collective bunch of saps if we allow this pillage to continue.

As a people, we should be outraged at the unconscionable level of compensation delivered to financial executives across the board.

Just what are they contributing to our society and economy that justifies these out-sized rewards?

In fact, as demonstrated in the recent financial meltdown, one can make the case that they are undermining our economic system rather than enabling it.

Overall, I'm in favor of reducing taxes and regulations, especially on small businesses. However, I'd like us to move in the opposite direction with respect to Wall Street firms.

At the very least we should be asking our senators and congressmen why hedge fund mangers deserve a 15 percent tax bracket when anyone else making over $373,000 in taxable income is taxed at 35 percent.

If they had paid income tax at the top rate in 2009, they would have contributed an additional $5 billion toward deficit reduction.

I suspect that they could have come up with the additional money without having to sacrifice too many jets, yachts or mansions.

But we need to go much further than that. We should be heavily regulating the financial sector to curb high-leverage risk taking and high-speed algorithmic trading.

We also need to introduce additional tax brackets directed at these ludicrously high incomes so that we can recoup some of their ill-gotten gains for the public good.

Unfortunately, our elected officials are already in the pocket of the financial industry's well-funded lobbyists; they have watered down proposed financial regulations and backed off on eliminating the hedge fund managers' tax loophole.

Incredible as it may seem, our representatives are now proposing to deregulate Wall Street once more. And we know where that will lead.

Reining in the financial sector should be something that appeals to people across a wide political spectrum, and yet there seems to be a collective passive response to these excesses.

We need to stand up and express our outrage to our government officials in no uncertain terms and hold their feet to the fire until corrective actions are taken.

It's time to pick up our pitchforks and torches.

The Tipster Calls:
Do you Take The Money And Run?

by Phil Trupp
Journalist and author of Ruthless

Your friend who works at ABC Company tells you that the company is about to be acquired for more than it's worth by XYZ Company, and that the stock price of ABC is likely to double.

You trust your friend's tip because he's an executive at ABC and he or she is doubling down on the buyout.

Question: As a retail investor, what would you do based on your friend's tip?

Do you call your broker and buy up as much ABC as you can afford?

Or do you betray your friend, contact the Securities and Exchange Commission and volunteer to be a wire-wearing whistle blower hoping to bag a big, fat reward?

Like many Wall Street operators - especially if you're a hedge fund manager - you have been given inside information, which translates into money and power.

But now you're faced with an ethical dilemma. You read the newspapers and financial blogs and you are well aware of two things: insider trading is illegal, and yet it is an often-used business model with a long and inglorious history.

What exactly is insider trading?

Basically, it is the practice of buying or selling stock or other assets by corporate officers, other insiders or ordinary investors on the basis of information that is not public and is supposed to remain confidential.

Insiders can buy or sell stock based on information they report to the Securities and Exchange Commission, thus making the public aware of the good, bad or perhaps the ugly data on a company's balance sheet.

Reporting this information to the SEC presumably gives the average investor a break, a level playing field upon which to make informed decisions.

Fair enough.

But if you are a major player or a hedge fund magnet, giving ordinary investors a break isn't your concern.

To pull down those hefty hedge fund fees you need to offer an edge, and that edge often amounts to inside knowledge played close to the chest and out of public view.

So if the "whales" of Wall Street constantly are in search of inside tips, despite the legal and ethical pitfalls, why shouldn't you cash in on your friend's possibly profitable tip?

The February 13 edition of the Washington Post business section features a story by David S. Hilzenrath and Jea Lynn Yang headlined "The federal dragnet on Wall Street's inside game" which explores the insider trading business model and the government's all-out push to put a stop to it.

Insider trading has grown in recent years, the reporters conclude.

But is this a growing epidemic enhanced by digital technology and unique ways of tracing cons?

Or has technology merely exposed a practice that has been at work for generations?
My experience brings me down on the side of the latter. Wall Street is not the Land of the Fair Deal.

Indeed, insider trading is a means of taking advantage of ordinary investors and making a killing in the dark.

For example, those insiders privy to special, non-public knowledge can - and often do - sell investors stock that is teetering on the edge of the cliff.

The insiders sell you on the upside while betting the farm on the inevitable collapse. For example, hedge fund billionaire John Paulson recently worked with Goldman Sachs to produce a derivative made up of bad mortgage loans.

Paulson bet against this so-called Abacus package, knowing in advance that it was built to crash, while Goldman sold it to clients as a bullish move.

Paulson made out big-time, as did Goldman, while unsuspecting investors took the fall.

The Abacus scam made headlines in the wake of populist outrage directed at the 2008 market meltdown. It was a sexy example of greed and insiders feeding at the public trough.

The Street shrugged it off. It was by all accounts business as usual.

It now appears that the Obama Administration is determined to crack down on such insider deals.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is focusing on a wide circle of expert network firms which feed inside information to financial management companies, matching various company insiders to stock traders.

Wall Street argues there's nothing wrong with this practice, that it is part of due diligence. The trouble with this argument is that the public isn't connected to the process and is often enough victimized by it.

DOJ is now trolling for insiders willing to wear wires to help build cases against billionaire hedge funds and those who feed them insider information.

If there is honor among thieves, DOJ is proving the opposite is true.

If stock and bond traders can't cash in using legal practices, they can always snitch and pick up whistle blower awards granted by regulators that are often equal to, and at times exceed, the bonuses given to top financial executives.

So where do you come down on my initial question? Do you call DOJ or do you take your insider tip and run straight to your broker?

Critics of insider trading say the "integrity" of the market depends on your answer.

Yet these same critics are challenged to find - let alone protect - the integrity they are so eager to preserve.

The Cardinal Crisis

A Dying Globalist Oligarchy & Baby Boomer Generation

Uranus Ends 42-Year Cycle
1969-2011

By Theodore White, mundane Astrolog.S

World transits clearly indicate we are entering a time where the ethical, moral, social, scientific and spiritual disciplines are gravitating closer to one another - rather than further apart.

It may not seem so with the continued wars of ideology used to fragment society, but that time is indeed about to come to an end.

The planetary inclinations of the first half of 2011, as we have outlined in this edition of Global Astrology, are those of the individualistic urges expressed through transpersonal means.

Many of the attacks on the general public-at-large over the past several years – including those by ideological political forces – will only exacerbate the already seething public anger over the loss of jobs, the degradation of society and the outright corruption of the wealthy, their ‘public’ officials who serve them.

Ideology, over the course of the 20th century, has long been used to subject populations and individuals to the restrictive will of those who propagate limited views – usually under the cover of ‘capitalism.’

The coming Uranus-Pluto square is reflective of the times just ahead and how people will respond to the acts of corruption and neglect that society continues to suffer.

Here, I outline how the transit of Uranus is currently at work in the events of the recent times and how it reflects the urgency of a dying oligarchy and their children to force changes based on their outmoded and outdated ways - into a new century.

Every two generations are comprised of an oligarchy and its children, the establishment, which stretches out over a span of 42 years.

This is one-half of a full cycle of the orbit of the generational planet Uranus. There are also ‘cycles within cycles’ which reflect the ebbs and flows of the generations and their impact on the world.

In our present times, the last 42 years began in the year 1969, when Uranus entered the Sign of Libra, opposite to the Sign of Aries.

Since that time, the oligarchy born in the 1920s and 1930s, and their children, the Baby Boomers born in the 1940s and 1950s, have been involved in what can only be called a ‘cultural-socio-economic-political-intergenerational war’ - among themselves.

This ‘inter-generational war’ peaked in the late 1960s and continued through the 1970s and the 1980s - until the decade of the 1990s, when the children of the oligarchy cut a deal with their aging parents and became the establishment.

This ‘establishment’ of the baby boomers comprised an 18.5 year period of time - from 1993 to the year 2011.

That time is coming to an end.

The transit of Uranus, about to start a new orbital cycle on March 11-12, 2011 with entry into tropical Aries, will make a complete opposition to its prior entry into Libra in the year 1969.

This planetary crossing of Uranus brings to a close the events of both generations – the oligarchy and their children - over the span of 42 years.

ON URANUS - INCLINATIONS & EFFECTS

The transits of Uranus are important to events on Earth. The planet shares the same orbital plane that the Earth itself transits on around the Sun.

Uranus takes a full 84 years to transit the Sun once. This cycle is broken into two major cycles – each comprised of 42 years.

During 42 years, one half of Uranus has one side of the planet completely shrouded in darkness, while the other half of the planet is always exposed to the light of the Sun – for the entire 42 years.

On March 11-12, 2011, Uranus will officially enter tropical Aries and begin a new 42-year period that will take the world to the year 2053.

From 2011 to 2053, Uranus will transit six (6) zodiacal constellations - Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, and Virgo - before officially entering tropical Libra in the year 2053.

The effects of planets, especially Uranus, on human beings are through the thought-cells in the astral form of the human soul and spirit.

Those ‘thought-cells’ which are inclined by Uranus, make up those elements that relate to originality and which express themselves through ‘individualistic urges’

This is especially the case when any planet transits through the individualistic Sign of Aries.

The ‘individualistic urges’ of Uranus take place on a transpersonal landscape, thereby affecting large populations, including generations. In astrology, Uranus is known as a ‘radical’ planet and has a code that is indifferent to forms of convention.

Rather, the transpersonal views are expressed as unconventional and can flourish when Uranus transits particularly sensitive points along the zodiac, at angles, such as the 0-Aries point.

More than any other planet, Uranus is known in forming strong attachments, but also breaking of them to form entirely new ones. This can be seen on the individual, as well as the transpersonal level.

These ‘individualistic urges’ of Uranus’ transits often attract into people’s lives by ‘electric’ and ‘sudden’ means, mainly by human action, and begin changes, where, after the transit has passed, that can bring about entirely new experiences which expresses itself  on a higher mental level than before the transit.

Uranus, as a transpersonal planet, can bring radically new conditions, ideas and new persons into the lives of people which can profoundly change lives.

The transits of Uranus will act to remove the status quo, old persons, associates and conditions from the life while introducing new ones at the same time.

These changes can happen rapidly, as history has shown when Uranus is in play. The misfortunes of the negative octaves of the planet often come from a person or persons who exercise malefic influences over lives and situations, or by carelessness.

The positive octaves are those that are attracted by the thought-cells of those who apply themselves to create healthy outcomes out of the new events taking place and whom expand on their views in a manner that seeks to improve the quality of life and the conditions of the environment, not only for oneself, but also for others.

Uranus’ effect always involve things that can be peculiar in nature, the mixing and matching of things that normally could not co-exist, yet, which do under its influences and inclinations.

The thing about Uranus is that no matter how positive its inclinations can be, that there is always some kind of loss involved.

Or that no matter how negative things are, that there is always some kind of positive gain.

This is the nature of this ‘electric’ and ‘maverick’ planet.

In astrology, Uranus is known as an ‘octave’ of the planet Mercury with direct access to the electromagnetic forms of the nerve currents.

This is associated with its ‘unstable’ quality that can ‘disrupt’ and cause ‘imbalance’ to those who are under its inclinations.

The influences are those that can cause high tension, stress and depletion of energy rapidly.

The transits of Uranus can also open the doors to undo influences from others who may not have the best intentions at heart for others and who gain influence through shady means.

The influences always through people - so it is wise to guard against being unduly influenced by those who have ulterior motives.

Under Uranus, it is important not to immediately place confidence in those too quickly and to exercise prudence and patience before totally trusting.

The inclinations of Uranus through others will be revealed by ‘maverick’ actions, words, habits and dress which seek to ‘attract’ through ‘sudden’ and ‘electric’ means, usually via ‘radical’ words and acts that can either ‘excite’ or cause ‘stress’ to occur.

The nervous system of those with favorable astrological aspects to transiting Uranus, or by favorable secondary progression, will find that their thoughts will lead towards the ‘new’ and ‘different’ – often discovering old methods to express in fresh ideas.

However, the unfavorable aspects of Uranus often ‘shock’ the system by carelessness.

The tendency to rush or too quickly accept anything without first exercising patience and thought can lead to sudden accidents and harm, especially to the head with Uranus transiting Aries.

The ‘electric’ and ‘sudden’ quality associated with Uranus can affect machinery and human application of machines and electrical equipment, so it is vital to inspect machines and equipment thoroughly before use.

This applies to sharp metals and weapons as well because of the association of the Sign Aries with the 7.5-year transit of Uranus from 2011 to 2019.

The ‘unstable’ nature of Uranus by transit on the human body means calming of the nerve currents. This can be accomplish through the use of water – resting and repose during times of stress.

Under Uranus’ influence, some people may find it difficult to quiet one’s mind and to sleep, therefore it is advised to schedule rest and to mind one’s diet so as to achieve the proper sleep required to reduce nervous tension.

Because Uranus has a ‘sudden’ and ‘unexpected’ electric quality to it, the best way to guard against undue influences brought about by others is to be prepared in advance for the unexpected and to exercise calm and cool thinking while not being forced to rush to make instant decisions if unnecessary.

The antidote and cure under any negative inclinations of Uranus are “Religious Thoughts,’ –  this does not mean that one has to find a ‘religion’ per se, but rather means that the optimistic cultivation of Jupiter-type ‘spiritual thoughts’ are best.

By relying on a higher power than that of the human-created intellect, these ‘religious’ or ‘spiritual’ thought-cell compounds are best applied to anything that adversely affects the mind and nervous system and that cause undue worry, stress and concern via Uranus’ malefic influences.

The Oligarchy & Boomer Establishment
Uranus Closes A Door

The entry of Uranus into tropical Aries brings to a close the 42-year period that began in the year 1969 for the oligarchy and their children, the Baby Boomers.

This 42-year cycle has been defined by the inter-generational war between parents and children since the late 1960s. It was at that time that Uranus entered tropical Libra.

Uranus, in effect, has come ‘full circle’ as it is now ready to enter the opposite Sign to Libra and that is the Sign of Aries.

This 42-year history - 1969 to 2011 - was filled with the cultural, economic, geopolitical and social conflicts that were powerfully inherent and played out between the oligarchy born in the 1920s and 1930s, and their children of baby boomers, born in the 1940s and 1950s.

Ideology was the basis for this conflict.

It played out throughout the world in diverse ways, but always at odds with one another in black and white terms, with both generations choosing to ignore the many gray shades in between.

A sort of ‘compromise’ in this ideological war between parents and children was struck in 1977 with the pardon of deserters of the Vietnam War by then U.S. President Jimmy Carter.

The Baby Boomers returned to cultural life in the United States after 7.5 years of ‘dropping out’ – but the ideological war picked up again in the 1980s and then ended by the early 1990s when the boomers became the new establishment in that decade.

Uranus transited six (6) signs over this 42-year period between 1969 to 2011 - spending seven years in each Sign – Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

The oligarchy is represented by the generation that has Uranus in Pisces and Pluto in Cancer.

The oligarchy born during the 1920s and 1930s have been experiencing their Uranus Returns and transiting Pluto is opposing their natal positions. They are passing away.

The Baby Boomer generation has Uranus in Gemini and early Cancer with Pluto in the Sign of Leo. They are now at the end of their time as establishment.

The ideological inter-generational war between both generations, parents and children, defined all of the geopolitical, cultural and social events since the late 1960s.

It continued through the latter half of the 20th century - but is now over, reflected by Uranus’ entry into Aries.

During the past 42-years, this ideological war has produced a ‘dysfunction’ among the Boomer generation which identified itself as the ‘leading youth’ or ‘me generation,’ during the 1960s and 1970s.

The failure to notice, or even accept, the passage of time and aging has led to this generational ‘dysfunction’ becoming more or less ‘maladaptive’ - it spread through society during the boomers’ time as establishment.

This is why this generation has been acting out. They know they are losing clout by the progression of time – of transits – and are freaking out.

That is the reason why they want to push things ahead, unnaturally, out of order, so as to feel as if they accomplished their plans – which is a ‘new world order?’

More like a 'new world odor.'

However, I see no ‘order’ at all.

I look to the transits for ‘order,’ for without the movement of the Sun, and planets there would be no time itself.

If you want to look for any kind of ‘order’ – look at the celestial bodies, for that is where you will find it.

The economic crisis planned in the year 1999, and initiated during the decade of the 2000s to begin in the year 2007 has brought economic distress to whole nations and societies.

The current round of uprisings throughout the Middle East taking place ahead of the coming entry of Uranus into Aries in March 2011 continues to show the hidden, yet obvious open hand of a dying oligarchy bent on forcing geopolitical changes before their time.

The removal of Hosni Mubarak as president of Egypt came several months before transiting Saturn in Libra was to return to its exact place in Egypt’s mundane chart.

The actions taken in Libya come six (6) months before the Uranus return of Mu’ammar Gadhafi’s rise to power in September 1969.

Those behind the scenes continue to behave in ways that clearly show that they do not want the future to develop naturally, as it should, but with the continued interference of globalists who believe that they can “create” the future.

But what is really happening is a replay – of the past.

The actions of this dying oligarchy are that of desperation.

They are living in the past, yet believe in their hearts of hearts that they can continue their outmoded ways of the late 20th century where the enemies were China and Russia - two nations that have experienced and continue to experience their own natural changes.

The world, in the wake of the end of the Second World War, was one where Anglo-American elitists brought back into fashion their belief that the world should be run as a single government – what they called ‘the new world order.’

Yet, why anyone desire to create such an ‘order’ without knowing how nations develop naturally, over time, by themselves, via their own cultures and according to their own transits?

It is my belief that one-size simply does not fit all.

This is especially true for the nations of planet Earth.

What has been all the rage these days of the ruling and dying oligarchy and their Boomer children who now serve them, is to force geopolitical changes that they want to match their vision of the world.

But this ‘vision’ is not only outdated, but it does not fit the new astrological times.

This ‘vision seeks to attempt to persuade younger generations to take on a globalist agenda that is not of their own design.

The world transits of the decade of the Twenty-Tens clearly show that the current round of ‘uprisings’ in the Middle East have been planned and initiated by this dying oligarchy and their ‘establishment’ children.

They are fearful of a future without them.

Old, tired and fearful, they are determined to see their oligarchic-dream happen now.

That is - to force destabilizations on nations and societies so they can experience and see in their own lifetimes – the fulfillment of tired dreams based on outdated glory of globalist domination?

What is clear from mundane transits is this:

What the globalists ‘envision’ cannot and will not be achieved, but rather, may easily lead to the exact opposite of what the oligarchic globalists say they want – a one-world government - under the guise of a multi-polar and democratic world.

This so-called ‘one-world government’ could lead to what mundane astrologers of yore foresaw, and that is the rise of an Anti-Christ who pretends to be one of them - a globalist – but is singly involved only to achieve a rise to individual power.

It is the same old tired mantra:

“Everyone wants to rule the world.”

But in reality, no one ‘rules’ anything.

One cannot stop the Sun from rising, from culminating, or setting anymore than one can stop the planets from performing their functions, or to make the Earth cease revolving around the Sun.

The only ‘power’ globalists have had has been to cause turmoil, tensions, disruptions and destruction.

Rather, the wet dreams of ‘elites’ with their Stanley Kubrick-visions of a ‘new world order’ would have rather spawned a creature like Adolf Hitler.

This guy, who, after playing alongside the oligarchs of his era - rejected his ‘globalist’ paymasters - and went on a massive killing spree to achieve global domination – all for himself.

Hitler didn’t really want a “Third Reich’ that lasted for a ‘thousand years’ – all he sought was total power and “annihilation,” his favorite word by the way.

Hitler was egomaniacal paranoid with deep pathological/psychological issues.

But, remember, he was spawned by ‘globalists’ seeking ‘a new world order.’

The Earth and its populations are too diverse for any ‘new world order.’ Again, that is the pipedream of a collection of ‘elitists’ who should mind their business and learn how to raise their own families properly, rather than trying to tell everyone else how to live on the Earth.

All historical ages of the Earth are determined by the configurations of the planetary transits and by the natural evolution of human consciousness and spirituality.

It has never been determined by solely by human-created intellects and ideologies couched in odd ball secularist philosophies propagated by self-selected ‘elitists,’ who are really just pissed off that they cannot ‘rule the world.’

Just who gave them the right to claim that ‘they’ are the only ones on the entire planet who possess all the answers to the wide varieties and diversities of the human condition?

That’s a ton of bullshit – a ‘new world order?’

The world was never really ‘ordered’ to begin with pal.

We just live here.

"A new world order?"

Here’s the ‘order’ of most lives of people -

We’re born. We go to school. We grow up. We go out. We go clubbing. We date. We get married. We have kids. We take the trash out. We sleep. We get up. We go to work. We come home. We eat dinner. We grab a beer. We sit down and try to catch a good game on TV. Our wives yell at us. We play with the kids. We wash, rinse and repeat the same cycle for years and years and years - until the day we die. Friggin ‘Fred Flintstone.’

A regular Joe, okay?
A ‘new world order?’

Give me a freaking break.

Leave us alone.

'DON’T TREAD ON ME.'

Let’s speed ahead and look at the world transits at the end of the Twenty-Tens.

The Cardinal Crisis, as we know it, is really a series of transitional and transformational global transits that focus on the cardinal Signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.

The major planets of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto are already in the tropical signs of Aries, Libra and Capricorn. Jupiter will transit Cancer in the year 2014.

But, what is really transpiring is a major buildup of planets in the Sign of Capricorn at the end of the decade, in the years 2018, 2019 and 2020 with the planets Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto, that will bring everything that has gone down in the Twenty-Tens to a peak.

Capricorn Stellium – March 2020
click on chart to enlarge

What this chart shows is the collection of the planets Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto – all in tropical Capricorn.

This comes several months before a new Jupiter-Saturn conjunction that occurs at 0-Aquarius, on the day of the winter solstice, December 21, 2020

This new Jupiter-Saturn conjunction ends the old one that took place in May 2000 and opens up a new world cycle.

The problem with the Capricorn stellium is that is wants to lead to singular autocratic control of the world through a ‘new world order’ of nations, but astrological transits show a much different story coming about in the decade of the Twenty-Twenties and Twenty-Thirties.

Although I have gone that far (and further) in reviewing world transits, I will not go into detail here in this edition of Global Astrology, but in another.

When we look to the transits of the heavenly bodies, we find truth in their motions, configurations and inclinations.

This is how we can tell the difference between the truth and lies. This is how we can confirm that which is natural and that which is unnatural.

The point however, is this, from a mundane perspective –

A one-world government can never succeed on Earth as run by the dying oligarchy and their children who are clearly unenlightened. The last 30-40 years have proven this to be true.

Look at society, at economics and at geopolitics. The group of so-called ‘elites’ who have been running the world clearly do not have both oars in the water.

Moreover, the only way for the world to be run is by allowing nature to take its course.

For history has always shown that when humanity messes with Mother Nature – humanity always loses.

Yet those who would pretend to be ‘elites’ never seem to learn this valuable lesson.

The Capricorn Stellium of the year 2020 reveals that those oligarchs, who will have then passed on long before 2020 arrives, will not live to see the ‘achievement’ of all that they worked for over the decades – their so-called ‘new world order.’

This dying oligarchy and their children of baby boomers are afraid of Generation X, for it is this incoming generation that they chose to ignore over the past 40 years. Why, we can only assume this is because of self-absorption, egotism and fear of aging.

This is why the children born in the 1960s and '70s were given the factor ‘X,’ as it represents the unknown in mathematics.

Generation X as children, checking out the news - July 1969

Now, rather than ask this generation what they think, the dying oligarchy and boomers decided that they would try to ‘skip’ over this large generation so as to make the new century conform to a 'new world order.'

Now, not only is this strategy stupid, but also revealing.

It shows just how out of touch the oligarchy and boomer generation has been and how dismissive they have been to a generation that has survived on bare resources stolen and while being wholly neglected by a dying oligarchy and their children of boomers.

You cannot ‘skip’ over an entire generation without totally pissing them off. Nor can you demand that a new century conform to the outmoded ways of the last century.

This is the height of generational arrogance and we have seen nothing but arrogance from an oligarchy and establishment that is scared of a future they will not be able to control, run or manage.

So, this dying oligarchy and outgoing boomer establishment are pushing ‘revolutions’ ahead of schedule - to take place now because they are scared of China and Russia and fear a multi-polar world.

My answer to that is, leave China and Russia to the Immortal God, for He knows better than all of you combined.

All countries should be aware that the Lord watches all the time and has the best interests of humanity well at hand.

The Immortal God has direct control of nature itself – this includes the Sun, the Moon, the planets, the stars and all those many rocks of the Asteroid Belt between Earth, Mars and Jupiter that no ‘elite’ group of a ‘new world order’ can imagine themselves to have any kind of control over.

Want to see some real 'new world order?'

Hundreds of thousands of asteroids are currently known, but the total number of asteroids ranges in the millions or more, depending on size. A survey of infrared wavelengths shows that the main Asteroid Belt has between 700,000 to 1.7 million asteroids with diameters of 1 kilometer to asteroids the size of Texas.

Get my meaning?

Fear the Immortal God.

Moreover, these events that continue to produce bloodshed need not have happened if not for the oligarchy and boomer establishment losing their minds because their plans for a ‘new world order’ have not been yet been realized.

This is what is odd about the events of the Middle East. It is that much of what is happening is simply premature by a few years.

Though about to take place naturally via the inclinations of world transits – Uranus Square Pluto – rebellions, revolts and revolutions - much of what is happening in the Middle East still had a few years to go before natural transits would have led to the end of the repressive regimes supported – mind you - for nearly 40 years by the very same dying oligarchy and now the outgoing establishment of baby boomers.

Moreover, the Uranus-Pluto Squares really do not get going until 2012 through 2015, though there will be some contact by wide aspect in 2011, this particular world square is one I have highlighted before on Global Astrology.

This goes back again to the oligarchy and generation of Baby Boomers.

The transits clearly show that the dying oligarchy’s dream of a ‘new world order’ has never been to achieve evolution along honest humanitarian and spiritual grounds - but simply to continue their elitist and secular views of a world which George Orwell himself looked right though in his seminal work '1984.'

What is being built here is not some kind of ‘utopia’ - but a dystopia - as viewed through the smeared lens of a tired, age-old ideology out of touch with reality and the 21st Century.

The world, as it matures, and evolves through human consciousness, has never been, and is not for sale.

Nor is it for the ‘crafting’ by those who were never selected in the first place to do so.

The natural progression of generation to generation and from change of era and times to a new time happens throughout history. But, there are signs when interference comes, usually by the hands of those who have selected themselves as the ‘elite.’

What a dying oligarchy and their children, the Baby Boomers, have been doing, is trying to break the inter-generational contract because they want to see their version of ‘history’ come to life now – before it occurs naturally.

They are freaking out.

Simply because they are old and are scared of death, of passing on, so, at this juncture in time, they feel it is time for them to ‘do something.’

That is what we are seeing in the Middle East at present. That is what we have been witnessing in the world overall.

This is one of the major reasons why I have been so down on the oligarchy and their generation of Baby Boomers - for the mere fact that their interference with the natural progression of history proves they do not have all 52 cards in their deck, nor both oars in the water.

Now, why would a dying oligarchy and their children be so afraid of aging and passing on as to want to arrogantly ‘force’ changes in a world they will no longer inhabit by the passage of time?

Well, that answer is simple.

Any generation that does this clearly is one with serious ethical, moral and spirituality issues.

You see, because when one does possess spirituality – then one fears the Immortal God - for the simple reason of having to deal with the consequences of one’s action while on Earth.

I mean, do you think all the holy scriptures of the world were written to merely entertain?

Now, atheists would presume there is no deity, since those who would say that there is no God can easily allow themselves to do anything they please – including international theft, murder, even genocide - all manner of evil since they presume that there is no punishment.

But I counter that with this –

When you see nature, the Sun, the Moon, the planets and the stars, and you clearly see their order and mathematical alignments – you know that there is surely a God.

That kind of celestial order just does not happen on its own.

Moreover, atheists and humanists have no proof that there is not a God.

The only reason why they would say there isn’t a God is so they can continue to proceed with their evil acts – their ‘new world order.’

The ends justify the means, you see?

If one believes there is no afterlife, then it makes sense to believe that there is no punishment either, right? So one can go on behaving arrogantly, be overweening and act as a blasphemer in the world with a ‘new world order.’

For the rest, I will quote from portions of the Pistis Sophia - which makes quite clear there surely is an ‘afterlife.’

It is a reality.

But there are parts of the afterlife not pleasant at all for those who hold views which have allowed them to go on building a so-called ‘new world order.’

Seek and achieve Gnosis to save yourselves from what is ahead:

Andrew asked: "An arrogant, overweening man, when he comes out of the body, what will happen to him?"

Jesus said:

"If the time of such a one is completed through the sphere, the receivers of Ariēl come after him and lead out his soul out of the body and spend three days traveling round in the world with it and instructing it concerning the creatures of the world.

Thereafter they lead it down into the Amente before Ariēl; and he takes vengeance on it with his chastisements twenty months.

Thereafter they lead it into the chaos before Yaldabaōth and his forty-and-nine demons; and he and his demons, one by one, take vengeance on it another twenty months.

Thereafter they carry it on to the way of the Midst; and every one of the rulers of the way of the midst takes vengeance on it another twenty months.

And thereafter they lead it unto the Virgin of Light, that she may judge it.

And when the sphere turns itself, she hands it over to her receivers, that they may cast it into the æons of the sphere.

And the servitors of the sphere lead it into a water which is below the sphere; and it becomes a seething fire and eats into it until it purifies it.

And Yaluham, the receiver of Sabaōth, the Adamas, comes and brings the cup with the water of forgetfulness and hands it to the soul; and it drinks and forgets all things and all the regions to which it had gone.

And they cast it up into a lame and deformed body, so that all despise it persistently.

This is the chastisement of the arrogant and overweening man."

Thomas asked: "A persistent blasphemer, what is his chastisement?"

Jesus said:

"If the time of such a one is completed through the sphere, the receivers of Yaldabaōth come after him and bind him by his tongue to a great Demon with a horse's face.

They spend three days traveling round with him in the world and take vengeance on him.

Thereafter, they lead him into the region of the cold and of the snow and take vengeance on him there 11 years.

Thereafter they lead him down into the chaos before Yaldabaōth and his forty-and-nine demons, and every one of his demons takes vengeance on him another eleven years.

Thereafter they lead him into the outer darkness, until the day when the great ruler with the dragon's face who encircles the darkness, shall be judged.

And that soul becomes frozen up, destroyed and then dissolved.

This is the judgment of the blasphemer."
