GLOBAL ASTROLOGY

by Theodore White, mundane Astrolog.sci

Happy New Solar Year!

The new Solar Year of 2026 officially gets underway with the Sun's entrance into Tropical Aries at the ecliptic.

Known as the Vernal Equinox, the world enters a solar year that promises to be historic and at a turning point going into the mid-to-late 2020s.

As we begin the solar year of 2026 the world has witnessed significant changes in 2025; and in recent months, the planetary transits have reflected the shifts that continue to take place worldwide.

The Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 00-Aries that took place at the sensitive point at the ecliptic on 20th February marks an historic step in the mid-2020s that promises to continue through the rest of this decade and into the next.

As I have related before, the last Saturn-Neptune conjunction I witnessed and reported on in 1989 coincided with significant global events - including the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Eastern Bloc.

In Mundane Astrology, the 1989 conjunction marked a major shift in political structures and ideologies.

That cycle was characterized by the dissolution of outworn and outmoded systems and the emergence of new political orders worldwide that eventually led to the swift collapse of the Soviet Union, also born during a Saturn-Neptune conjunction in the 1917 revolution.

By in March, 1953, after a long night of drinking with his closest political allies, Josef Stalin, leader of the Soviet Union, suffered a massive stroke. Four days later, Stalin was dead, marking the end of decades of his iron rule.

This was Saturn and Neptune's second conjunction of the 20th century that would lead to the third in 1989 and then the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

Here in 2026, the new Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries has heightened and further polarized cultural and political tensions, as it often coincides with struggles for justice and the collapse of existing power structures.

This period may lead to increased activism and resistance against oppressive regimes, as seen in historical contexts like the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 as seen in our present era with the recent protests and war in Iran in 2026.

Significant world events since the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries in February 2026 include heightened political tensions and social movements, as this rare alignment often coincides with societal upheaval and collective resistance.

Major geopolitical changes has witnessed near-revolutions in Venezuela, Iran and Cuba as the Vernal Equinox neared in mid-March 2026.

Just before, during and just after the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, numerous countries experienced widespread protests. Citizens rallied for justice and political change in Iran - reflecting a collective awakening to economic, political and societal issues.

Several nations will see shifts in leadership, with elections resulting in new governments that promise change. This aligns with the themes of revolution and transformation associated with the Saturn-Neptune conjunction.

Additionally, advancements in technology and shifts in global dynamics are expected as the world navigates this new era.

The conjunction coincided with significant advancements in quantum technology, leading to new applications in computing and communication. This reflects the historical pattern of technological progress during Saturn-Neptune alignments.

Artificial Intelligence Regulation Discussions: AI technology rapidly evolved, talks around regulation and ethical use intensifies, with governments and organizations seeking to establish strict guidelines for responsible AI development.

The new Saturn-Neptune conjunction came into orb on 1 July 2024 before its exact conjunction on 20 February. Its strongest influence will last until 2 March 2027.

The Saturn-Neptune quarter stage will then take place in September 2033 with the 50% stage arriving in January 2042 and the 75% point reached in April 2052 before it completes in the year 2061.

SIGNS OF THE TIMES

April & May 2026

PRESAGE: A NEW COMET ON THE WAY

Meanwhile, in more signs of the times, yet another comet will fill the skies of early 2026 - presaging events to come.

Right now, a pristine icy visitor from the outermost edge of our solar system is racing toward the Sun at tens of thousands of miles per hour, heating up, and beginning to glow.

Its name is Comet C/2025 R3 (Pan STARRS). And in April 2026, the comet will put on a show that none of us will ever forget.

According to my calculations, the best opportunities to see the comet will be in late April to early May 2026, where you will be able to see the comet, transiting low in the twilight sky.

Its visibility will differ by hemisphere: observers in the Northern Hemisphere may be able to see it in the early morning skies, while those in the Southern Hemisphere will see it in the evening skies in early May 2026.

In April 2026, Comet C/2025 R3 will pass through the constellations Pegasus, Pisces, Cetus, and Taurus. At perihelion on 20th April, it will be positioned in the constellation Pisces. At its closest approach to Earth on April 27, the comet will be in Cetus.

click on graphic to enlarge

The comet was discovered on September 8, 2025 by the Pan-STARRS telescope atop Hawaii's Haleakala volcano.

This long-period comet is certainly making its very first visit to the inner solar system. Its orbit may actually be hyperbolic, meaning that it will swing past the Sun once and escape into interstellar space forever.

That means that in April and May 2026 will be the only time in all of human history that anyone ever sees this particular comet.

Current predictions of the comet's brightness cover a wide range, but most stargazing professionals lean toward magnitude 8, a beautiful binocular object showing a fuzzy head and hint of tail.

Optimistic models reach magnitude 2.5 to 3, easily naked-eye from dark skies and comparable to the brightest stars in Cassiopeia.

The wildcard is forward scattering: because the comet passes between Earth and the Sun near perihelion on April 20, its dust particles can briefly scatter sunlight directly toward us, producing a dramatic brightness spike that standard models do not fully capture.

Another comet will be seen from the Earth in early April 2026:

C/2026 A1 (MAPS) is a Kreutz sungrazer - a comet that will pass extremely close to the Sun in early April 2026.

Sungrazers are unpredictable: some disintegrate, while others survive the Sun’s heat and turn into breathtaking naked-eye comets.

Late March/early April 2026: C/2026 A1 (MAPS)

Perihelion: April 4, 2026 (mag -7.8)

Closest approach to Earth: April 5, 2026 (mag 4.5)

Where to observe: Both hemispheres

The path of comet C/2026 A1 through the constellations in March-April 2026.

Comet MAPS was discovered on January 13, 2026 by a team of four astronomers: Alain Maury, Georges Attard, Daniel Parrott, and Florian Signoret, using robotic telescopes in Chile as part of the MAPS (Maury/Attard/Parrott/Signoret) program.

The comet belongs to the Kreutz sungrazer family - comets that pass extremely close to the Sun and are thought to be fragments of a much larger comet that broke apart long ago.

Comet MAPS is the furthest Kreutz sungrazer comet ever discovered; it was found from the AMACS1 Observatory near San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, at roughly 2.06 AU from the Sun and 1.43 AU from Earth - much farther than any Kreutz comet has been discovered before.

Key Dates

13-15 April 2026: Now, the other comet - C/2025 R3 - will sit inside the Great Square of Pegasus, about 15 degrees above the eastern horizon before dawn, a good first binocular window.

17 April 2026 - New Moon, darkest skies of the month, optimal hunting conditions begin.

18-22 April 2026 - Peak viewing window centered on perihelion, look east before dawn.

27 April - Closest Earth approach at 44 million miles, possibly lost in Sun's glare by this point.

8 May 2026 - Last Quarter Moon, final dark-sky window, best viewing for Southern Hemisphere evening observers.

The next comet that could become easily visible from Earth is C/2026 A1 (MAPS), a rare Kreutz sungrazer that will pass extremely close to the Sun on April 4, 2026. If it survives this fiery encounter, it could brighten dramatically and possibly become visible to the naked eye in the evening sky.

click on graphic to enlarge

Shortly after MAPS, another promising visitor arrives: C/2025 R3 (PanSTARRS). This long-period comet is expected to be visible through binoculars under dark skies, with a small chance of brightening enough to become visible to the naked eye, thanks to forward scattering as the comet passes near the Sun.

Comet in late April – early May 2026: C/2025 R3 PanSTARRS

Perihelion: April 19, 2026 (mag 6.8)

Closest approach to Earth: April 26, 2026 (mag 6, possibly 3.3)

Where to observe: Northern Hemisphere (before perihelion), Southern Hemisphere (after perihelion)

Comet C/2025 R3 is expected to reach about magnitude 7 - too dim for the naked eye, but visible with binoculars under dark skies. There is also a chance it could brighten to around magnitude 3 due to forward scattering, which would make it visible to the naked eye.

The best time to look for C/2025 R3 PanSTARRS will be from late April to early May 2026, when it appears low in the twilight sky.

Visibility will depend on your location: observers in the Northern Hemisphere may spot it in the morning in late April, while those in the Southern Hemisphere will have a chance to see it in the evening sky in early May.

VERNAL EQUINOX 2026

By Theodore White, mundane Astrolog.sci

On Friday, March 20, 2026 at 10:45:40 a.m. eastern daylight time (EDT) the Spring Equinox starts.

This new solar year indicates significant changes to come between now and 2029-2030 -
just ahead of the Sun's Grand Minimum.

The Vernal Equinox chart for North America indicates a major year of new beginnings - marked by the recent Saturn-Neptune world conjunction at the ecliptic.

VERNAL EQUINOX

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, USA

click on chart to enlarge

A void-of-course Moon takes place just as the Sun enters tropical Aries and the Vernal Equinox takes place.

My presages for this new solar year also continues my warnings for geophysical activity of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and storms of significance. Caution again is urged going into the new solar year.

Planetary transits throughout solar year 2026 call for prudence, patience and care, as the transits of 2026 indicate a need to prepare for the future.

In calculation and delineation of the transits of 2026, my general advice for the good reader is to utilize the year well. There will be a kind of 'party atmosphere' is some regions of the world and over speculation in the financial markets.

That speculation in 2026-2027 can cause many to indebtedness to the point of poverty later in the decade (2028-2031) and so to avoid that it is best to know how and where you will live and work to improve your chances of success.

Meanwhile, there will be two coronal mass ejection impacts on the Earth from the Sun on Thursday, 19 March and again, on Saturday, 21 March 2026.

click on graphic to enlarge

The word 'Vernal' comes from the Latin word for spring, while 'Equinox' literally means 'equal night.'

'Equi' means equal and 'nox' means night - with both night and day lasting an equal amount of time.

In Astrometeorology, at the equinoxes the Earth's atmosphere undergoes strong electrical-magnetic perturbations.

Tides can go higher, barometer readings oscillate, and electrical tensions spike at this time of year than the minimums experienced at the solstices.

Within a day or two of the vernal equinox, as the atmosphere is excited by these electrical magnetic spikes there can be strong low pressure storms of freezing rain and snow; violent winds of severe gales, hail storms, powerful tornado activity and even seismic activity.

The reason for this is basic to Astrometeorology. For at the equinoxes the Earth feels the full force of the Sun's electromagnetic influences.

It will play out in the events that take place around the equinoxes.

click on graphic to enlarge

To observe this in action, closely watch the weather headlines on March 20, 21, 22 to confirm this fact.

Due to the inclination of the Sun's axis to the plane of the ecliptic, with the south magnetic pole pointed at one equinox and the Sun's north magnetic pole pointed at the other, this time of year at vernal equinox has the Sun's magnetic poles geared directly at the Earth more so than at any other times in its orbit.

At the Vernal Equinox, a sunspot on the surface of the Sun rises above the Equator and at the autumnal equinox descends below it.

click on graphic to enlarge

The timing of the coming geomagnetic storm is a double-blow that is perfect for amplification by the 'Russell-McPherron effect' - a geomagnetic influence that boosts energy worldwide, including geophysical effects from earthquakes to storms just as the Vernal Equinox gets underway.

And hidden inside that seasonal shift is a magnetic phenomenon that doubles the probability of seeing the Northern Lights during the Vernal Equinox.

The Russell-McPherron Effect was discovered in 1973 by scientists Christopher Russell and Robert McPherron.

During the equinox, Earth's magnetic poles tilt at a precise right angle to the flow of the solar wind. This geometry opens a door in our magnetic field.

Charged particles from the Sun that normally get deflected - suddenly stream directly into Earth's upper atmosphere.

Oxygen atoms hit by those particles glow green. Nitrogen atoms glow violet and blue. The result is an aurora.

click on graphic to enlarge

And this year, the effect is amplified. March 2026 arrives at the tail end of Solar Maximum - the peak of the Sun's 11-year activity cycle. The Sun is currently at its most magnetically explosive.

Solar flares and coronal mass ejections are at their highest frequency in nearly a decade.

The equinox opens the door. Solar Maximum loaded the cannon.

click on graphic to enlarge

Scientists at Forbes and LiveScience have called March 2026 potentially the last great aurora display until 2035 - when the next Solar Maximum arrives.

The Northern Lights are most visible from Alaska, northern Canada, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. But during strong geomagnetic storms, they can reach as far south as the northern United States and central Europe.

click on graphic to enlarge

In fact, moderately-strong G2-class geomagnetic storms are possible every day from the start of the New Moon Week of Thursday, 19 March to First Quarter Moon Week on 25 March 2026.

The moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator and equalizes night and day is calculated exactly every year and Iranian families gather together to observe the rituals.

Originally a astrological or Zoroastrian festival, and the holiest day of them all, 'Nowruz Pirouz' is believed to have been invented by the mundane astrologer Zoroaster himself.

Since the Achaemenid era, the official year has begun with the New Day when the Sun leaves the zodiac of Pisces and enters the zodiacal sign of Aries, signifying the Spring Equinox.

The Jewish festival of 'Purim' is probably adopted from the Persian New Year.

The New Solar Year It is also a holy day for Sufis, Ismailis, Alawites, Alevis, and adherents of the Bahá'í faiths.

The first day of the new year – that is by the Solar Calendar System used by Western astrologers and Eastern Astrologers alike - arrives at the Vernal Equinox in the middle of the month of March.

1.) mid-March - Aries

2.) mid-April - Taurus

3.) mid-May - Gemini

4.) mid-June - Cancer

5.) mid-July - Leo

6.) mid-August - Virgo

7.) mid-September - Libra

8.) mid-October - Scorpio

9.) mid-November - Sagittarius

10.) mid-December - Capricorn

11.) mid-January - Aquarius

12.) mid-February -Pisces

During the spring and fall equinoxes, the tilt of Earth’s axis is perpendicular to the Sun’s rays.

This means the Sun shines directly on the equator, resulting in it lighting up the Northern and Southern Hemispheres equally.

While this brings the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, it marks the beginning of autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.

Often, during this time of new year as the Sun aligns itself relative to the Earth's equator, there can be strong geophysical effects, and this new solar year is no different.

Solar year 2026 has 13 full moons, three supermoons, one total eclipse, one partial eclipse, and a blue Moon. One of the richest lunar years in recent memory.

click on graphic to enlarge

The year 2026 is set to dazzle astronomy enthusiasts with a rare series of four eclipses that will captivate the world.

The first event arrived on 17 February with an annular solar eclipse, that formed a brilliant 'ring of fire' that was visible from Antarctica and parts of the southern hemisphere.

Just weeks later, on 3rd March, a total lunar eclipse occurred as the Moon shifted into a deep copper “Blood Moon” over the Americas, Australia, and Eastern Asia.

In August 2026, the excitement reaches its climax with the year’s highlight - a Total Eclipse of the Sun on August 12th that will sweep across the Arctic, Greenland, Iceland, and Northern Spain, momentarily plunging daylight into twilight and revealing the Sun’s corona.

The celestial season concludes on August 28th with a deep partial lunar eclipse, when nearly 93 percent of the Moon’s surface will be shadowed.

These rare events make 2026 a landmark year for stargazers around the globe to experience the majesty of our solar system.

The planetary transits leading up the new solar year of 2026 has seen major events in the Middle East, which leads us to our next historic event that continues into a new year.

WAR IN IRAN

by Theodore White, mundane Astrolog.sci

The war in Iran by the United States and Israel continued into its third week just as the Vernal Equinox got underway on Friday, March 20th.

Iranians mark 'Nowruz', the Persian New Year, as the traditional spring celebration of renewal unfolds amid an escalating regional conflict that has killed over 2,000 people.

Since the end of February, escalating violence between the U.S., Israel, and Iran has caused over 1,300 Iranian deaths and destroyed significant infrastructure, forcing many families to abandon traditional holiday preparations and celebrations.

"People are losing their jobs with the war," said Tehran resident Amir, illustrating how economic hardship and fear of violence have stifled the spirit of a holiday traditionally centered on family and renewal.

While some Tehran residents continue preparations to "honor life" despite ongoing violence, others report deep hopelessness, with market activity remaining eerily quiet across the country.

News broke on Thursday, 19th March that Iran executed three men on who were accused of killing police officers during Iran's people protests in January, with activists warning of the risk of a new surge in hangings as war rages with Israel and the United States.

They were the first hangings Iran has carried out related to the nationwide demonstrations that were met with a brutal crackdown by the authorities.

Two sources confirmed to CBS News that Saleh Mohammadi, a young member of Iran's national wrestling team, was among the three men executed in Iran.

Rights groups said the trio were executed without a fair trial and had given confessions under torture.

Mohammadi, Mehdi Ghasemi, and Saeed Davoudi were hanged in the city of Qom, south of Tehran, after being convicted of the capital crime of waging war against God, known as moharebeh under Iran's sharia, the judiciary's Mizan news agency said.

They had been found guilty of involvement in the killing of two police officers and carrying out "operational actions" in favor of Israel and the United States.

"This is the Iranian terrorist regime," White House spokesperson Olivia Wales said in a statement provided to CBS News Thursday night.

"President Trump will never allow these murderous, evil terrorists to obtain a nuclear weapon to threaten the American people, and this horrific tragedy is a stark reminder why Operation Epic Fury is righteous, and necessary."

There had been particular concern over the fate of Mohammadi, a teenage wrestling champion who had taken part in international competitions, who, according to Amnesty International, was denied "adequate defense and forced to make 'confessions'... in fast-tracked proceedings that bore no resemblance to a meaningful trial".

Norway-based NGO Iran Human Rights said after the executions the three "had been sentenced to death following an unfair trial, based on confessions obtained under torture."

It said Mohammadi had only turned 19 last week.

Iranian legal affairs monitor Dadban added that they were "deprived of effective access to independent counsel and the right to defense" and under such circumstances, the use of the death penalty resembles an "extrajudicial killing."

'Risk of Mass Executions?'
The Iranian regime executed three young men today. One of them was Saleh Mohammadi, a 19- year-old wrestling champion.

Their crime? Participating in protests.

According to their families, they received no due process - the regime coerced confessions, did not provide them with independent counsel, was not transparent about evidence, and gave them no fair trial.

The regime didn’t punish these men for breaking the law. It killed them for being silent.

The targeted killing of protesters through a corrupt legal system is a human rights violation and, under international law, a crime against humanity.

The regime knows exactly what it is doing. The world should know, too.

Iranian authorities a day earlier executed Kouroush Keyvani, a dual Iranian-Swedish national, on charges of spying for Israel, in a hanging strongly condemned by Stockholm and the European Union.

That was the first public announcement of such an execution since Israel and the U.S. launched strikes on Iran on February 28, killing Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and triggering the war that has spread across the Middle East.

"We are deeply concerned about the risk of mass executions of protesters and political prisoners in the shadow of war," said Iran Human Rights.

Iran's State media reported the executions of protesters Saleh Mohammadi, Saeed Davodi and Mehdi Ghasemi who were accused of participating in the murders of two policemen during protests in Qom on 8 January 2026. The executions were carried out “in the presence of a group of people in Qom.” The three protesters are the first to be hanged in relation to the December 2025/January 2026 nationwide protests.

Condemning the executions in the strongest terms, IHRNGO warns about the danger of the mass execution of protesters and political prisoners in the coming weeks.

IHRNGO Director, Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam said: “The protesters executed today were sentenced to death following grossly unfair trials, based on confessions extracted under torture and coercion.

"We consider these executions to constitute extrajudicial killings, carried out with the intent of creating terror to suppress political dissent.

The Islamic Republic is fighting for its survival and knows that the greatest threat to its existence comes from the Iranian people who demand fundamental change.”

He added: “We are facing a very real and imminent risk of mass executions of protesters. The international community must act with urgency.

The European Union, in particular, has an important role to play and should use all available diplomatic tools to help prevent further executions and protect the lives of those at risk.”

"These executions are carried out to spread fear in the society, as the Islamic Republic knows that the main threat to its survival comes from the Iranian people demanding fundamental change," it added.

Protests broke out in Iran in late December against the rising cost of living before morphing into nationwide anti-government demonstrations that peaked on January 8 and 9.

Rights groups accuse security forces of killing thousands in their crackdown on the protests, which authorities blamed on the U.S. and Israel.

The U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency has recorded more than 7,000 killings, with the vast majority being protesters, while warning the toll could be far higher.

Tehran has acknowledged that more than 3,000 people died during the unrest, including members of the security forces and innocent bystanders, and attributed the violence to "terrorist acts."

Iran's hardline judiciary chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei has warned there will be "no leniency" against those convicted of violent acts during the protests.

Iran Human Rights has said hundreds of people are facing charges linked to the protests that could see them sentenced to death. President Donald Trump initially warned the U.S. would attack Iran if it executed protesters but subsequently focused on its nuclear program.

Iran is the world's most prolific executioner after China, according to rights groups. Last year it hanged at least 1,500 people, according to figures from Iran Human Rights.

The Islamic Republic executed 13 people on charges related to the 2025 June war with Israel and 12 people on charges related to 2022-2023 nationwide protests, according to rights groups.

As Persian communities from Michigan to the Middle East are observing the spring equinox, with some holding events to spread awareness of Iranian culture and the crisis affecting families abroad.

Meanwhile, these are the most recent events as of Friday, 20th March 2026:
  • On Wednesday, 18th March, the Federal Reserve held interest rates steady for the second consecutive meeting while forecasting higher inflation this year, as Fed Chair Jerome Powell cited the surge in oil prices stemming from the conflict in Iran.

  • Oil prices jumped to $119 a barrel on Thursday as Iran attacked energy facilities following Israel's strike on the South Pars gas field, marking the biggest escalation of the conflict yet.

  • Britain's two-year yields jumped over 30 basis points while U.S. short-dated bond yields climbed about 10 basis points, reflecting broad surges in government bond yields from Britain to the United States.
  • Traders now price in two Bank of England rate hikes by year-end, while markets see a roughly 60% chance of a European Central Bank rate hike in April, reflecting divergence from Fed policy.
  • Analysts warn the supply shock could "morph into a demand shock," potentially causing a painful broader market washout as the conflict muddies the Federal Reserve's path regarding above-target inflation.

As the shooting war continues into its third week, grim signs of deadliness of the conflict was made apparent as the new solar year was about to get underway.

For instance, a spokesman for Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard insisted early Friday, 20 March 2026, that Tehran was still building missiles, seeking to counter a claim by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that it no longer could.

Iranian General Ali Mohammad Naeini also said the Iran war would go on. Then, a short time later, Iranian state television reported that Naeini was killed in an airstrike.

“These people expect the war to continue until the enemy is completely exhausted,” the general said of the Iranian public. “This war must end when the shadow of war is lifted from the country."

But the war persisted into the new solar year, drawing Arab neighbors directly into the conflict, with heavy explosions shaking Dubai early Friday morning as air defenses intercepted incoming fire over the city as people observed Eid al-Fitr, the end of the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry reported a fire erupted Friday morning after shrapnel fell on a warehouse in the island kingdom, while Kuwait said it worked to intercept incoming Iranian fire.

Saudi Arabia reported shooting down multiple Iranian drones targeting its oil-rich Eastern Province.

Israel hit the Iranian capital Tehran with airstrikes Friday morning. Activists reported sounds of the strikes around the city as Iranians marked Nowruz, the Persian New Year.

The morning attacks followed Israel's pledge the previous day to refrain from more strikes on a key Iranian gas field; while Iran kept up its wave of attacks on oil and gas facilities around the Gulf, which have caused millions of people to move into shelters and sent shock waves through the global economy.

The price of Brent crude oil, the international standard, has spiked, with oil prices fluctuating up and down near $100USD a barrel since Israel and the U.S. started the war with Iran.

The death toll from Israeli strikes in Lebanon topped 1,000+ people on Thursday, 19th March during renewed fighting with the militant group Hezbollah.

Iran’s new Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei called Friday for the enemies of his nations to have their “security” taken away, his latest message to the public.

Khamenei made the remarks in a statement issued on his behalf to President Masoud Pezeshkian after Israel killed Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib.

Khamenei hasn’t been seen since he was named as supreme leader, succeeding his father, the 86-year-old Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the first day of the war on Feb. 28th.

There have been growing comments from American and Israeli officials that Mojtaba Khamenei was hurt in the war.

'Iran's Revolutionary Guard says it is still making missiles'

Before he was reportedly killed., Iranian General Ali Mohammad Naeini made his comments in a report quoted by Iran’s state-run IRAN newspaper.

Referencing how Iranian schools consider a 20 as a perfect score, the general said:

“Our missile industry score is 20 and there is no concern in this regard because we are producing missiles even during war conditions, which is amazing, and there is no particular problem in stockpiling.”

He also said the war would go on.

'Kuwait says drone hit Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery again'

Fire crews in Kuwait were working to contain a blaze early Friday in one of Mina Al-Ahmadi’s oil refinery units.

The fires resulted from an Iranian drone attack, thee Kuwait fire force said. There was no immediate information about the extent of damage.

This was the second attack on the refinery by Iranian drones Friday morning.

Kuwait said Friday its Mina Al-Ahmadi oil refinery again came under attack by Iranian drones, which sparked a fire at several of its units.

Iranian state television acknowledged the attack Friday without claiming responsibility.

Kuwait said firefighters were trying to control the blazes and there were no immediate injuries from the attack.

The Iranian attack came as Kuwait marked Eid al-Fitr, the celebration marking the end of the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

The attack Friday comes as Iran increasingly targets energy sites in Gulf Arab states after Israel on Wednesday bombed Iran’s massive South Pars offshore natural gas field in the Persian Gulf.

Mina Al-Ahmadi can process some 730,000 barrels of oil per day. It is one of three oil refineries in Kuwait, a tiny, oil-rich nation on the Persian Gulf.

The Kuwait Petroleum Corp. said it shut down the units affected by the attack. Kuwait has been unable to export its oil as the war has gone on because it relies on sending it out by sea through the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, a particular target of Iranian attack as the war has gone on.

'Israel says it struck Syrian military post after attacks on Druze'

Israel’s military said Friday it struck sites in Syria in response to attacks against the Druze.

The army said it struck infrastructure belonging to Syria in response to attacks on Druze population in Sweida in southern Syria.

Syria’s state-run SANA news agency did not immediately acknowledge the attack, which marks the first Israeli attack on Syria as its war with the United States targeting Iran continues.

Israel has a significant Druze population. Israel previously has intervened in defense of the Druze in Syria, launching dozens of airstrikes on convoys of government fighters and even striking the Syrian Defense Ministry headquarters in central Damascus.

'Shrapnel sparks fire in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia destroys drones'

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry reported a fire erupted Friday morning after shrapnel fell on a warehouse in the island kingdom. Firefighters worked to control the blaze, it said.

Saudi Arabia reported shooting down multiple Iranian drones Friday morning targeting its oil-rich Eastern Province.

'Explosions shake Dubai'

Heavy explosions shook Dubai in the United Arab Emirates early Friday as air defenses intercepted incoming fire over the city.

A missile alert sounded prior to the strike, with authorities saying there were activating air defenses to counter an Iranian barrage.

The Dubai Media Office, the sheikhdom’s government communication’s arm, said, “Authorities in Dubai confirm the success of all air interception operations, with no injuries reported.”

It came as the UAE marked Eid al-Fitr, the end of the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, and as mosques made the day’s first call to prayers.

'IDF exploited Iran fallback plan, hit forces at sports stadiums in deadliest strikes of War'

The majority of Iranian military and security personnel were reportedly killed at Azadi Stadium, one of the largest soccer stadiums in the region.

In some of the deadliest attacks since the start of Operation Roaring Lion, Israeli strikes pushed Iranian security forces to fall back and regroup at sports complexes before targeting those sites to devastating effect, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, 18th March.

Citing documents reviewed by the outlet, the Journal reported that the strikes, which occurred in the first week of the war, killed hundreds of Iranian military and security personnel.

The majority of those killed were reportedly at Azadi Stadium, one of the largest soccer stadiums in the region.

Citing social-media intelligence firm Storyful, a company owned by its parent company, the Journal reported that verified footage showed security officers lying on the ground outside another stadium following Israeli strikes.

The strikes were made possible because Israeli intelligence had learned about the Iranian fallback plans, the Journal reported. These were triggered after the joint Israeli-US strikes of the first day of the war wreaked havoc on Iranian missile launchers and air defenses.

An Israel Air Force fighter jet on the way to strike targets in Iran.

Following those first attacks, the outlet noted, the US and Israel divided responsibilities, with Israel targeting infrastructure key to Tehran’s internal control while the US went after Iranian military and industrial targets.

In their actions, Israeli jets attacked a variety of targets ranging from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards' Basij militia to neighborhood police forces, the Journal reported.

These attacks reportedly triggered the fallback protocols.

Following the strikes on the sports complexes where the Iranian security forces had mustered, regime personnel flooded Tehran’s Gandhi hospital, forcing civilian patients to make room, a doctor told the Journal.

Iranian officials reportedly condemned the strikes as targeting civilians, and state media released images of the aftermath without acknowledging the presence of security forces, the Journal added.

President Trump on Iran:
‘I’m not putting troops anywhere’ but ‘If I were, I certainly wouldn’t tell you.’

Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi meets with American president Donald Trump, who answers questions from reporters during a bilateral meeting in the Oval Office of the White House on Thursday, 19 March 2026.

President Donald Trump cryptically denied any intention of ordering American ground troops onto Iranian soil as the nearly three-week-old conflict continues to wreak havoc on the global economy with multiple attacks on oil and gas infrastructure from both sides.

The president was speaking during a question-and-answer session with reporters alongside Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi when he was asked if he intends to deploy more American forces - specifically ground troops - to the Middle East region.

He replied: “No, I'm not putting troops anywhere,” but then added: “If I were, I certainly wouldn't tell you.”

He then repeated his assertion that he was not sending ground forces into Iran - despite reports the U.S. is weighing a deployment - and pledged to do “whatever is necessary” to keep oil and gas prices down in response to a second question on whether he intends to relax longstanding American sanctions against Iranian petroleum amid skyrocketing oil prices as a result of the war.

“I thought that it would go up more than it did, but we're doing this excursion, and when it's completed, we're going to have a much safer world,” he said. Trump in the past week has taken to referring to his war in Iran as an “excursion” in a seeming bid to downplay it.

The president also admitted to having spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about an Israeli strike on Iranian gas infrastructure that has triggered retaliatory attacks on similar facilities across the Middle East.

Israeli officials are casting doubt on Trump’s claim that the U.S. had no foreknowledge of plans to attack Iran’s South Pars gas facility.

“I told him ‘don’t do that,’ and he won’t do it,” Trump insisted.

His comments about his conversation with Netanyahu came just hours after he accused Israel of having “violently lashed out” by attacking Iran’s South Pars natural gas field - the country’s largest such facility - and claimed the United States “knew nothing” while also denying Qatari involvement and foreknowledge of the strike “in no way, shape or form” after Tehran retaliated by attacking one of Qatar’s gas facilities.

Writing on Truth Social late Wednesday, he said there would be “NO MORE ATTACKS” on the Iranian facility so long as Tehran refrained from any further strikes on Qatari facilities in turn.

But in the same post he also threatened to have U.S. forces join Israel in a strike that would “massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before” if Iran did not heed his demand for no further attacks on LNG facilities.

“I do not want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because of the long term implications that it will have on the future of Iran, but if Qatar’s LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate to do so,” he added.

Yet Trump’s denial of any American foreknowledge of the attack has been quickly called into question by Israeli officials, three of whom said the attack was in fact coordinated with the United States.

The three Israeli officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Israel was not surprised by Trump's comments.

They described the dynamic as similar to one that played out following Israel strikes on Iranian fuel depots in the early days of the war. After those attacks, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth distanced himself from the strikes by noting how in "that particular case those weren't our strikes.”

Since Israel’s strike on South Pars, Iranian retaliation has caused significant damage to Qatar’s largest gas facility - the biggest in the world - while also striking a Saudi oil refinery and forcing the United Arab Emirates to shutter its own gas facilities.

The retaliatory strikes have caused Brent Crude Oil prices to spike by more than 13 percent in the week since the Israeli attack on South Pars.

Trump’s late night social media post caused oil prices to further rise to $114 per barrel on Thursday morning — the highest since June 2022 when oil prices peaked at $119 during the Ukraine war.

Iran has now issued calls for evacuations at Saudi Arabia’s Samref Refinery and Jubail Petrochemical Complex, the United Arab Emirates’ Al Hosn Gas Field, and Qatar’s Mesaieed Petrochemical Complex, Mesaieed Holding Company and the Ras Laffan Refinery.

The warning, issued on Iranian state media, declared: “These centers have become direct and legitimate targets and will be targeted in the coming hours. Therefore, all citizens, residents and employees are requested to immediately leave these areas and move to a safe distance without any delay.”

'ISRAELI & UNITED STATES' OBJECTIVES'

American and Israeli objectives for the war on Iran are not the same, U.S. Director of National ‌Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said on Thursday, 19 March, with Israel focused on disabling Iran's leadership and U.S. President Donald Trump focused on destroying Iran's ballistic missile program and navy.

Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard testifies before a U.S. House Intelligence Committee hearing on worldwide threats, on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., U.S., March 19, 2026.

"The objectives that have been laid out by the president are different from the objectives that have been laid out by the Israeli government," Gabbard told the House intelligence committee's annual hearing on worldwide threats to the United States.

"We can see through the operations that the Israeli government has been focused on disabling the Iranian leadership. The president has stated that his objectives are to destroy Iran's ballistic missiles launching capability, their ballistic missile production capability, and their navy," she said.

The U.S. and Israel have repeatedly sought to highlight their close coordination in their joint air assault on Iran, but officials on both sides have acknowledged that their objectives were not the same.

As the conflict neared the three-week mark, Israel has led strikes that have killed Iranian clerics and military leaders, while the U.S. has been focused on striking sites related to the country's missile program.

The Republican president's administration has given conflicting messages about the state of Iran's nuclear program.

In the run-up to the war, some top administration officials said Iran was weeks away from developing a nuclear weapon, although others - including the president - claimed that another U.S.-Israeli campaign last summer had destroyed its weapons program.

Iran has maintained that its nuclear program was for peaceful purposes.

Gabbard said during the 2-1/2-hour ‌House hearing that the U.S. intelligence community had "high confidence" that it knows where Iran keeps its stockpile of highly enriched uranium but declined to discuss in a public session whether the U.S. has the means to destroy it.

GAS FIELD ATTACK

The gap was highlighted on Wednesday night, 18th March, when President Trump said in a social media post that Washington "knew nothing" about Israel's attack on Iran's South Pars gas field, which drew an Iranian assault on energy infrastructure in Qatar, and that Israel would not attack the field further unless Iran again attacked Qatar.

click on graphic to enlarge

Gabbard said she did not have an answer when Democratic Representative Joaquin Castro of Texas asked to what she attributed Israel's decision to strike Iranian energy infrastructure despite Trump calling for those facilities to be off-limits.

Gabbard's appearance in the House was her second straight day of testimony, after she, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and other intelligence agency directors also testified to the Senate intelligence panel.

At both hearings, Gabbard was questioned about whether she felt Iran had posed an "imminent" threat to the United States to justify the air assault by the U.S. and Israel that began on February 28th.

Joe Kent, who headed the National Counterterrorism Center, on Tuesday became the first senior official in Trump's administration to resign over the Iran War, saying Iran posed no imminent threat to the U.S.

Gabbard said in both hearings that it was solely up to Trump to determine whether the United States faces an imminent threat.

Esmail Khatib Assassinated:
'Iran Intelligence Minister Dead After Israeli Strike On Tehran'

Iran’s Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib was reportedly killed on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, in an overnight Israeli airstrike in Tehran – the third assassination of a high-ranking Iranian official in two days.

A senior U.S. official described Khatib as a key player in plots targeting America’s leaders, telling Fox News, “This man had American blood on his hands. His network specifically targeted current and former U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump…Today, he met the fate of his combatant comrades.”

Khatib had served as Iran’s intelligence minister since 2021 and was seen as a close ally of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. He also previously held senior roles, including various positions within Iran’s Intelligence Ministry.

U.S. officials had recently placed a bounty on Khatib for up to $10 million, along with any information that could be provided on nine other top Iranian officials.

Khatib had previously survived a series of strikes on Iran’s senior leadership at the “Defense Council” compound in Tehran during the opening phase of Operation Epic Fury, where more than 40 Iranian leaders were killed.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Khatib was “responsible for the regime’s internal repression and assassination apparatus, as well as for advancing external threats,” adding that “Israel’s policy is clear and unequivocal: no one in Iran has immunity - everyone is a target,” per NBC News.

The Israel Defense Forces said Khatib played a big role during the recent protests throughout Iran, including the arrest and killing of protesters, and plotted against Iranian citizens during the Mahsa Amini protests of 2022 and 2023.

Esmaeil Khatib, the Iranian terrorist regime Minister of Intelligence, was killed in a targeted strike in Tehran.
Khatib played a significant role during the recent protests throughout Iran, including the arrest & killing of protestors and led terrorist activities against Israelis & Americans around the world. Similarly, he operated against Iranian citizens during the Mahsa Amini protests (2022–2023.) The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence possesses advanced intelligence capabilities, overseeing surveillance, espionage, and the execution of covert operations worldwide, particularly against Israeli and Iranian citizens.
click on graphic to enlarge

The U.S. Treasury also sanctioned him in 2022 for overseeing cyberattacks against American government systems and those of allied countries.

Khatib had been the intelligence minister for nearly 5 years, taking over the position when former Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi was elected.

When Raisi was killed in a helicopter crash, and Masoud Pezeshkian succeeded him, he kept Khatib in his role – an unusual move given that new presidents tend to replace top ministers with their own close associates throughout Iran’s recent history.

Khatib’s death is only the latest in a hectic week of high-profile assassinations and eliminations.

On Tuesday, Israel announced that Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, and the commander of Iran’s Basij forces, Gholamreza Soleimani, had both been killed, as previously covered by The Dallas Express.

Larijani had been one of Iran’s most powerful political operators, having led the country’s “nuclear negotiations” with the West and served as speaker of the parliament.

Soleimani also commanded the feared Basij paramilitary – a group that may be considered one of the biggest instruments of repression and terror inside Iran.

Israeli Defense Minister Katz also announced that he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had given the Israeli military standing authorization to eliminate other senior Iranian officials in their sights without any case-by-case approval, per Al Jazeera.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed Khatib’s death on Wednesday, calling it a “cowardly assassination” and saying the killings of Khatib, Larijani, and others had left the nation “in deep mourning.”

Iran’s leaders, or what is remaining of them, have since vowed revenge, and the regime has already launched retaliatory missile strikes on Israeli cities.

Who are Iran’s new leaders?
A look at 6 the U.S. placed a bounty on – Two of whom are already dead

The Trump administration announced a US$10 million reward on 15 March 2026, for information leading to the capture of several senior Iranian figures.

While two of these leaders have since been killed by Israeli strikes, they are included here to provide a more complete picture of Iran’s powerful elite – people deeply embedded in the Islamic Republic’s political, intelligence and security architecture.

As an international affairs scholar, I know their careers reflect the institutional pillars of the regime – clerical authority, intelligence coordination, military power – and help explain why they are considered high-value targets.

Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei

The son of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a U.S.-Israeli strike in February 2026, Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, 56, was chosen as Iran’s new supreme leader in early March.

Long viewed as a powerful behind-the-scenes figure, he operated within his father’s inner circle. He has cultivated strong relationships with Iran’s security and intelligence institutions and earned a reputation as a political fixer and enforcer.

Despite never holding formal elected or senior appointed office, Khamenei had been widely perceived as a potential successor to his father.

Such a transition would have been controversial under normal circumstances, given his lack of experience and the ideological sensitivity around hereditary succession in a system born from anti-monarchical revolution.

Khamenei has also been linked to political controversies. During the 2005 presidential election, reformist candidate Mehdi Karroubi accused him of involvement in electoral manipulation. Former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad later alleged that Khamenei engaged in financial misconduct.

Public opposition to his perceived rise was visible during the 2022–23 protests, when demonstrators explicitly rejected the prospect of his leadership by shouting “Mojtaba, may you die and never see leadership.”

Seyyed Ali-Asghar (Mir) Hejazi

A cleric with long-standing ties to Iran’s intelligence apparatus, Seyyed Ali-Asghar Hejazi had been among the closest aides to Ali Khamenei.

He began his political career in 1980 as part of a “purification committee” tasked with firing perceived opponents from state institutions in the aftermath of the Iranian Revolution in 1979.

Hejazi later served as deputy for foreign affairs in the Ministry of Intelligence in the early 1980s and, more recently, as deputy chief of staff in the Office of the Supreme Leader.

In this role, he has functioned as a key intermediary between various branches of government as well as religious and political personalities – transmitting Khamenei’s directives, shaping high-level policy and coordinating Iran’s complex intelligence and security networks.

He was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury in 2013 for alleged human rights violations, including involvement in the suppression of the 2009 Green Movement, and by the European Union in 2019. He apparently survived an Israeli attack on March 6, 2026.

Seyyed Esmail Khatib

Seyyed Esmail Khatib, 64, who was killed on March 18, 2026, had built his career within Iran’s intelligence and security establishment. He joined intelligence operations linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in 1980 and was wounded during the Iran–Iraq War.

Following the war, this cleric held a series of senior intelligence roles, including director general of intelligence for Qom province, starting in 1991.

He also held positions within the supreme leader’s security office from 2009–11 and was head of the judiciary’s Protection and Intelligence Center, a counterintelligence body within Iran’s judiciary, from 2012–19.

He later served as a senior official within Astan Quds Razavi, a major religious and economic conglomerate controlled directly by Iran’s supreme leader.

Sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury in 2020 for alleged human rights abuses, Khatib became Iran’s minister of intelligence in 2021.

Ali Larijani

Ali Larijani, who was assassinated on 17 March 2026, was one of the Islamic Republic’s most experienced political insiders.

Born into a prominent clerical family, he rose through both military and civilian institutions, beginning with roles linked to the Revolutionary Guard in the early 1980s.

Ali Larijani speaks to Iranian media in Tehran on 31 May 2024.

Over the decades, Larijani, 68, held numerous senior positions. Those include minister of culture from 1992–94 and head of state broadcasting from 1994–2004.

He was also secretary of the Supreme National Security Council from 2004–08 and again from 2025–26. Larijani also served as Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator from 2005-07.

From early January 2026, and more clearly following the Feb. 28 killing of Ayatollah Khamenei, Larijani emerged as a central decision-maker within the system before his death.

Brig. Gen. Eskandar Momeni
A commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Eskandar Momeni speaks to lawmakers in the Iranian Parliament in Tehran on 20 August 2024.

A Revolutionary Guard-affiliated security official, Eskandar Momeni, 64, is a veteran of the Iran–Iraq War and participated in counterinsurgency operations against leftist groups in northern Iran.

He later held a range of senior law enforcement roles, including head of the Police Emergency Center, a dispatch center that directs emergency response units, from 2004–05, deputy for operations of the national police from 2005–08, and chief of traffic police from 2009–14. He also holds a doctorate in national security.

As deputy commander of Iran’s Law Enforcement Force, responsible for public security, from 2015–18, Momeni oversaw security responses during the 2017-18 protests, which were met with force.

Since becoming minister of interior in August 2024, he has remained a central figure in domestic security policy, including the lethal response to unrest in early 2026 in which an estimated 7,000 to 30,000 Iranians were killed.

Maj. Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi

A senior Revolutionary Guard commander and longtime military strategist, Yahya Rahim Safavi, 73, received military training in Syria prior to the 1979 revolution and later became a key figure during the Iran–Iraq War.

He served as commander of the Revolutionary Guard ground forces, from 1985–89, deputy commander in chief from 1989–97 and commander in chief of the Revolutionary Guard from 1997–2007. During his tenure, he reportedly also earned a Ph.D. in geography.

In December 2006, the U.N. Security Council put Safavi on its sanctions list for his involvement in Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs. After stepping down as Revolutionary Guard commander, Safavi was appointed senior military adviser to the supreme leader and is still serving in that role. He remains under U.S. sanctions.

'Iran's attacks pushing Gulf's Arab states toward unity, possible action against Tehran'

Iran has sought to escalate incrementally against Gulf countries over the course of the three-week war.

Iran’s attacks on the Gulf countries are increasingly bringing unity among the countries, as well as a tiptoe toward possible action against Iran.

Iran has launched thousands of drones and missiles at the Gulf states. In addition, Iran has sought to escalate incrementally against them over the course of the three-week war.

For instance, after an Israeli strike on an Iranian gas field, Iran then attacked Qatar's Ras Laffan industrial facility.

The Gulf countries are now seeking unity in talks about what to do next. Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan spoke out forcefully on Thursday.

He said that Riyadh’s restraint could end. Saudi Arabia’s patience is “not unlimited,” Arab News reported.

Farhan said, “The Kingdom and its partners possess significant capabilities, and the patience we have shown is not unlimited. It could be a day, two days, or a week - I will not say.”

Prince Faisal said Saudi Arabia “reserves the right to take military action if deemed necessary.” Saudi Arabia had reconciled with Iran in 2023 after years of tensions. Now the Kingdom is outraged. This is “almost nothing” left to salvage the relationship, Farhan said.

Faisal J. Abbas, the Editor-in-Chief of Arab News, wrote that Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has spoken in the past about apologizing for Iran’s attacks on the Gulf.

However, Abbas says that Iran needs to show action, not words. The Gulf wants to see Iran change course.

“Many observers, yours truly included, breathed a sigh of relief,” after Pezeshkian’s apology earlier in the war.

“The indiscriminate attacks targeting civilians in Gulf countries, particularly in Saudi Arabia (which had signed a nonaggression treaty with Tehran in Beijing in 2023) were assumed to have been a result of strategic miscalculation and were given the benefit of the doubt.

This is despite the repeated pattern, and the clear indication that Tehran sought to target oil facilities to make the war as expensive as possible for America and the world at large,” Abbas writes.

Riyadh is seeking a worldwide consensus on its next moves. Luigi Di Maio, the EU’s special representative for the Gulf, condemned Iran’s attacks.

He also said that Europe stands “at their disposal” in providing support to the Gulf countries.

In an interview with Arab News in Riyadh following the extraordinary EU-GCC ministerial meeting of March 5, Di Maio stressed that the bloc “strongly condemned the unjustifiable Iranian attacks against the GCC countries” and fully backed the Kingdom’s right to self-defense."

Across the Gulf, the solidarity is becoming more crystallized. In the UAE, residents are expressing loyalty and support for the country, Al-Ain media notes.

Al-Ain adds, “in a unified regional stance reflecting growing concern about the repercussions of the escalation, Arab and Islamic countries sent firm messages to Iran, condemning its attacks and emphasizing that the security of the region and the sovereignty of its countries represent red lines that cannot be crossed.”

The report says that “this came during a consultative ministerial meeting that included the foreign ministers of a number of Arab and Islamic countries, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to discuss the repercussions of these attacks and their impact on the security and stability of the region.

The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia.”

The countries have moved toward explicit condemnation of Tehran. These words are important because symbolism means a lot for the Gulf countries.

Media across Gulf united in message of condemnation for Iran
Media across the Gulf is reporting the same thing, whether Arab News in Saudi Arabia, Al-Ain in the UAE, or other reports.

Gulf News in Dubai, for instance, says “Arab and Islamic foreign ministers issued a unified condemnation of Iran’s missile and drone attacks across the Gulf on Thursday, 19 March 2026, warning that the strikes on civilian infrastructure “cannot be justified under any circumstances” and urging Tehran to immediately halt its escalation.”

It adds, “meeting in Riyadh amid intensifying regional tensions, ministers from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Pakistan, Azerbaijan and Lebanon said continued violations of sovereignty would carry consequences and reaffirmed the right of states to defend themselves under Article 51 of the UN Charter.”

While the Qataris have gotten the fire at Ras Laffan under control, there are other developments. The UAE continues to activate air defenses against missiles and drones.

Qatar has also expelled Iranian officials.

In Kuwait, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation “announced that the fires that broke out in two operating units at the Mina Al Ahmadi and Abdullah Port refineries as a result of them being subjected to two attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles have been extinguished,” Gulf News noted.

In addition, “Saudi Arabia has not ruled out military action in response to repeated missile and drone attacks from Iran, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said on Thursday.” Qatar, which has tended to be closer to Iran in foreign policy over the last decade, has said that Iran has crossed all red lines.

EFFECTS OF THE VERNAL EQUINOX

As I have written for years, during the Vernal Equinox it is also important to mind the psychological status of others.

For some, the further away from the equator, the greater the incidence of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD.)

Generally, coming out of winter, it is a mood disorder when people who show normal mental health throughout most of the year exhibit depressive symptoms in the transition month from winter to spring.

The lack of natural sunlight during the winter months can lead to depressive episodes. SAD is indicates by depression, changes in appetite, weight gain, sleep disruption and the inability to concentrate.

Some people who are borderline emotionally/mentally disturbed or even ill can act out in dysfunctional ways.

It is important for people who have serious emotional/mental conditions to be supervised and in the care of therapists.

Most other people, before, during and after the Vernal Equinox may feel somewhat off-balanced during and just after the equinox.

I've covered numerous accidents in my years as a journalist that took place around the time of the vernal equinox. It is important for drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution during this time of year with the lapses in concentration at this time of year.

click on graphic to enlarge

The cures are daily exercise, drinking cherry juice and gradually getting yourself used to the increased sunlight.

A healthy diet is the cure that will greatly improve wellness and vitality.

Add foods which contain Melatonin and Omega-3 fatty acids that decrease the symptoms of seasonal affective disorder. Some foods that have a large amount of melatonin are:

Sour Cherries or Sour Cherry Concentrate

Mustard Seed

Corn

Rice.

Food that contain large amount of Omega-3's are:

Fish

Eggs

Milk

Flaxseed

Brussels Sprouts

The best thing to do during the days around the Vernal Equinox is take it easy, be observant of your surroundings and to mind the weather.

HOW THE MOON AFFECTS PEOPLE

by Theodore White, mundane Astrolog.sci

The Moon rules the fluidic, or the watery elements of the body as well as the brain matter.

Therefore, all lunar aspects are particularly influential on the body of humans and animal life.

In my astrology practice, I have applied the position and aspects that the natal and/or progressed Moon makes to forecast and assist to cure various kinds of brain disorders.

The Moon plays a key role by position relative to the Sun and planets in nativities.

While some people are brilliant, or considered to be very intelligent; others can be modestly so, while still others can be dull, or slow.

These differences take place because of the structure and the function of the brain is ruled by the Moon so its relative distance to the Sun in the nativity has impact on intelligence and mental health that is critical to living a balanced and positive life.

Therefore, it is important to know the exact nature of the native's horoscope positions and their brain before making interpretations.

The brain itself has two hemispheres, where the Left Hemisphere controls the right side of the body, and the Right brain hemisphere controls the left side of the body.

Observe when talking to people that they will tend to look up and to the left when they are trying to recall or think about something, or down and to the left when they are sad, disturbed or depressed.

People will also look up and to the right when they imagine or visualize something.

The famous Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, who studied astrology and human nature, created two (2) classifications of human personality as:

1) Thinking-Doing

2) Seeing-Feeling

The right side of the human body is often associated with Thinking-Doing and is ruled by the more logical left hemisphere of the brain.

The left side of the human body is associated with Seeing-Feeling and is ruled by the right hemisphere of the brain.

So, distortions and problems can come about when a native is born with particular planets at various sides and angles of the horoscope that has a 'thinker-feeler' rather than a 'thinker-doer.'

The conflicts with thinking and use of logic mixed with feelings, seeing and emotions form dissimilar processes that are indicative of solar, lunar and planetary afflictions.

The astrologer Ron Alan Pierce explained that in the late 1970s, Dr. Robert Ornstein visited a IBM Research Lab in San Jose, where he was working, and presented some findings of his book 'The Nature of Human Consciousness' which discussed research in left-right brain processes.

Pierce wrote that the four elements of Astrology, that is earth, air, fire and water are connected to what he called two realms:

The Realm of Space and the Realm of Time, or the 'Spiritual and Material Realms.

He said that:

"It is consistent with the basic principles of creation and symmetry as now known by science, long taught by metaphysics and religion (the book of Genesis is but one example) and widely used by psychology.

In people, these two realms are manifested in the right and left hemispheres of the human brain.

Here is what science and psychology have established as the natures of the two hemispheres:

1. The LOGICAL (linear temporal) mode; associated with analysis, speaking, cognition:

The LEFT hemisphere of the brain (and Right side of the body)

TIME and EVENT processes - has to do with THINKING/TALKING and PLANNING/DOING.

2. The SPATIAL (non‑linear) mode: associated with vision, sensation (feelings, emotions.)

The RIGHT hemisphere of the brain (and left side of the body) reflect the CREATIVE processes, having to do with SEEING/SENSING and IMAGINATION/VIBRATION.

In each hemisphere, for proper symmetry, there are two (2) DIRECTIONS of energy:

One direction is active-OUTward/dispersing/transmitting.

And the other is active-INward/consolidating/receiving.

In Astrology, AIR and EARTH energies in a person's nativity activate the LOGICAL hemisphere, outwardly (thinking, talking) and inwardly (doing.)

FIRE and WATER elements activate the SPATIAL hemisphere, outwardly (seeing, inspiring) and inwardly (feeling, intuition.)

These four FORCES ‑ Fire, Water, Air, and Earth - are recognized by astrology as the fundamental stuff of which all things are composed.

We now see that each has a 'natural home' in humankind, and that science and psychology have aided astrologers in understanding the fundamentally different natures of these four 'building blocks'.

To put it more concisely for our use in Applied Astrology:

The left‑hemisphere is the thinking/doing realm of invention/incorporation, and is LOGICAL/MATERIAL; the two FORCES in this realm are the inward/outward yin‑yang pair of Earth and Air.

The right‑hemisphere is the seeing/sensing Realm of inspiration/intuition, and is SPATIAL/SPIRITUAL.

The two FORCES in this Realm are the inward/outward yin‑yang pair of Water and Fire.

We have found this concept of Realms to be extremely useful, and believe it to be a part of the puzzle that will assist in the unification of astrology with philosophy, religion, science, and psychology."

That very well could be as we mature deeper into the 21st century with the re-emergence of Astrology as the supreme priori-based science.

In my own work as a practicing astrologer, the forecasting of human destinies, mundane events and climate & weather are integrated by my integration of Applied Astrology.

One of the important elements of the brain is the neuron which has an estimated 30 billion neurons that are well-connected to reflect the spiritual astral body of the physical human being.

Neurons is the way of transmitting messages from one neuron to another neuron and is basically controlled by Jupiter with Mars and Saturn playing their respective functions.

While the Moon rules the brain and its fluidic movement, Mercury controls the transportation nervous system of the brain and Mars, along with Jupiter, the lifeblood.

For instance, when there are disorders, then I have to search for where the afflictions are located to find a cure.

When the Moon, Mercury and Jupiter is afflicted then a brain disorder is potentially shown.

Afflictions of Mars and Jupiter can show blood pressure and structural problems.

When Saturn is afflicted there can problems of the nervous system leading to brain disorders.

The Moon, ruling the brain itself, when afflicted, can indicate abnormal behaviors.

In my astrological practice over the years, I have dealt with a wide variety of maladies to assist physicians, psychiatrists and psychologists to time events to help effect cures:

Alzheimer’s Disease occurs in old age. It is shown by decline in the brain's cognitive functions, most notably memory, reasoning and planning. These are generally shown by afflictions to Mercury.

Amnesia is a partial and/or total loss of memory that can come from episodes of shock, extreme psychological disturbance, accidents or injuries caused by illness or brain injury. I look to see what afflictions there are to the Moon, Mercury and Mars.

Depression is a mental disorder shown by feeling of dejection followed by social withdrawal.

Affiliations of the Moon and Mercury, along with Saturn are causes.

Hypochondria is a persistent neurotic condition where the native is likely to become sick when an apparent illness is not actually real, nor likely.

Usually, it is a strongly afflicted Moon responsible for this.

Hysteria is a state of neurosis that is typical of sudden conversion symptoms, that can switch immediately from a calm attitude to episodes of amnesia, hallucinations, somnambulism, and other aberrations.

Again, a powerfully afflicted Moon is a cause. Mars, if afflicted also shows behavioral problems. Mercury relates communication of the brain with afflictions causing amnesia and dementia.

Schizophrenia is any of a group of psychotic reactions characterized by withdrawal from reality with highly variable affective, behavioral and intellectual disturbances.

Affiliations of the Moon and Mercury with malefic planets, including the position of the Lunar Nodes in a nativity or progressions.

'THE TRANSITS OF THE MOON'

The Moon’s orbit stabilizes the axial tilt of Earth.

This prevents it from undergoing chaotic variations that would lead to catastrophic changes in climate and weather.

The daily transits - the rises, culminations and setting of the lunar-induced tides - has left an indelible impact on Earth.

As the Moon orbits Earth, its changing geometry with respect to the Sun produces the Moon’s characteristic phases of new moon, first quarter, full moon and last quarter.

A single orbit of the Moon relative to the Sun, called a 'synodic month,' has a mean duration of 29.53 days.

Because the Moon orbits Earth in about 29.5 days, its daily motion against the stars and constellations is quite rapid as it averages 12.2 degrees per day.

The Moon’s elliptical orbit and orientation to the Sun does change during some months of the solar year.

If a new moon takes place when the Moon is at perigee (closest to Earth) then the synodic month will be shorter than normal.

However, if new moon occurs when the Moon is at apogee (farthest from Earth) then the synodic month will be longer than normal.

Usually, during full moon phases, it is borderline individuals who show immediate and clear signs of being unstable, emotionally and mentally unbalanced.

Those who are unable to mind balance and control can be seen as emotionally unstable and require treatment.

The entire natural world is Astrology as there are favorable and unfavorable influences all the time; however, during discordant influences the advice is always to 'calm down,' ' relax' and 'take it easy.'

The decade of the 2020s will be challenging for many people and calls for prudence and planning.

Knowing your own natal birth horoscope and how the world's transits aspect your life is key to navigating the new decade just ahead.

'THOUGHT CELLS & MENTAL ANTIDOTES'

The 'thought cells' of every planetary kind either expresses itself positively through constructive thoughts and behaviors or, expresses itself negatively, through destructive thoughts and behaviors.

To whatever extent the native's thoughts are typical, by natal patterned-positions of the birth planets, houses and angles, the facts is that what happens to a person is influenced by what he/she does, that is, to the extent of which thoughts are typical of the natal and progressed planetary influence the person is under.

This 'inner weather' can be 'sunny,' cloudy,' 'hot' 'cold,' 'partly cloudy,' 'rainy,' 'windy,' or 'stormy.'

It is part of the knowledge of the professional astrologer to see to it that the client's inner weather be guided to constructive expression to improve the native's life.

What is critical to understand that it is not the 'inner weather' of the person shown in their horoscope that determines a positive or negative result, that is fortune or misfortune, but rather, the desires of the person's thought cells that receive the energy from the person's inner plane weather.

For instance, if enough harmony can be applied to a person's inner plane weather - despite being 'cloudy' or 'stormy' - then the harmonious thought cells will work for the person and result in fortunate events.

The astrologer's job in reality is to ascertain the emotional/mental antidotes required that will rally enough forces to harmoniously recondition the desires of the thought cells of the native to bring about favorable results.

'HOW TO CULTIVATE & CHANGE YOUR INNER WEATHER'

One of my astrological expertise is in Secondary Progressions which I perform on every nativity no matter what.

You see, the psychokinetic power of a person's thought cells on average represents at least 50% of the influences that determines how events enter into a person's life.

Progressions, major and minor, reveal where the native is, where they've been and and where he/she is going into the future.

The events from world transits, resistance from people, as well as the physical environment of the native, i.e., where they reside, work, live, etc., may act to block full realization of favorable outcomes for the native, so this adds to the work that the astrologer must do in order to guide the native toward success.

So, the sum of the psychokinetic power minus the resistance will bring about the desired result.

That means getting the native to either re-arrange, or totally remove the resistance around them, including other people and/or the physical environment, so that all the native has to do is to use a minimum of psychokinetic power to then be able to bring about what they desire into their life.

Major and minor progressions shows which thought cells are required as cures to unfavorable progressions in the native's chart so that the psychokinetic power can be used by the person to acquire that which they desire in their life.

For brevity sake, let's consider the two Lights, the Sun and the Moon:

Progressed Aspects of the Sun will affect the vitality, authority and significance according to the thought cells in the astral form of the person that relate to persistence of the Individualized Self, that is, the Ego of the native.

These express as Power Urges of the native's 'solar' character.

Progressed Aspects of the Moon rules the brain of the native and affects their emotional/mental attitude, their domestic life and day-to-day affairs.

These express as Domestic Urges and show what is open and receptive to the mind, the emotions, domestic life, relationships with others.

The Moon's distance and aspect from the Sun will yield the IQ of the native.

Because the progressed Moon will transit through all 12 Houses of the horoscope and will make all possible aspects to the other planets of the chart in approximately 27.3 years (rounded to 28 years) it means that its thought cells will average in each house a little less than 2.5 years.

The progressed Moon will be colored by the house and Sign it transits and will bring about those favorable and/or unfavorable matters of each Sign and House in relation to its aspects to other natal and progressed planetary bodies.

As for the other planets, say, a conjunction, parallel and quincunx between Venus and Jupiter are quite favorable, but these same aspects between Mars and Saturn are unfavorable.

Any of those aspects that do not involve those planets are considered neutral.

Sextiles, semi-sextiles and trines between any two planets are favorable.

However, semi-squares, squares, sesqui-squares and oppositions are unfavorable.

Progressed aspects in a native's chart will show if their inner plane weather is either favorable or unfavorable.

However, there are people born, who, because of their original birth chart patterns that have been stamped on them since birth are so strong, or conditioned, or marked by past life karma, that any progressed aspect may not be powerful enough to significantly change the life status.

It is the astrologer's experience and knowledge to ascertain that and then to communicate it to the native in a way that can help the person to live with that knowledge without using their progressed thought cells and inner plane weather that can bring about an opposite event counter to that which the natal horoscope has set for the length of life.

Going into the 2020s, there will be challenges for all people according to their own nativities, transits and progressions against the global transits of the decade of the 2020s. If you want to know more then contact me at astro730@gmail.com

SATURN-NEPTUNE CONJUNCTION UNDERWAY

Hexagon on Saturn's north pole

Astrologer Maureen Richmond wrote a piece titled "The Saturn-Neptune Conjunction and Sociopolitical Ideology' which may help the good reader extend their understanding of the meanings of the recent Saturn-Neptune conjunction.

Richmond writes: "The recent conjunction of Saturn and Neptune at 0 degrees of Aries on February 20, 2026 has again brought the significance of planetary pair cycles into the forefront of astrological discussion.

A brief but perhaps nonetheless revealing look at the modern history of two nations suggests that the Saturn-Neptune cycle, particularly the conjunction, appears to be linked to the formation and implementation of sociopolitical ideology.

USSR & Russia

In August of 1917, a conjunction of Saturn and Neptune took place at 5 degrees of Leo. This year proved to be a red letter landmark for Russia. Revolutionaries ended the longstanding Romanov Dynasty in the midst of World War I, two revolutions and a Civil War took place, V.I. Lenin’s far leftist Bolsheviks seized power, and the Communist Party was subsequently established.

The centuries-old feudal system was abolished and collectivist socialism installed in its place, an enormous paradigm shift for the persons living through this change.

The next Saturn-Neptune conjunction occurred in November 1952, May 1953, and July 1953 at 23, 22, and 21 degrees of Libra respectively. During this period, the leadership remaining from early Communist days ceded to a more modern expression.

In 1953, the regime of the brutal ruler and engineer of forced socialism, Joseph Stalin, came to an end with the dictator’s death. Nikita Khrushchev emerged as a political leadership figure who would ultimately lead the USSR. The Cold War raged, with the economic systems of the USSR and the US locked in a deadly serious competition for world dominance.

In this same Saturn-Neptune conjunction period of 1952 - 1953, a slight modernization of the Russian Communist system was undertaken, including the release of some of 2.5 million political prisoners.

Attempts were made by the Soviet government to alleviate the utterly deplorable living conditions millions of Russians had endured since the days of Lenin and Stalin.

Agricultural production under the forced collectivist farm system produced insufficient food for the nation. The failings of forced socialism were plain to see, but the Soviet Communist Party persisted.

The 1989 conjunctions of Saturn and Neptune in March, June, and October at 12, 11, and 10 degrees of Capricorn respectively saw the USSR forced to admit the failings of its socialist framework, forced collectivism, and centrally planned economy.

Mikhail Gorbachev agreed to allow multi-party elections, leading directly to the collapse of communist control, the fall of Berlin Wall, and the dissolution of the former USSR into independent republics. Socialist communism as a political and economic model had been fully rejected.

By the 2026 conjunction of Saturn and Neptune at 0 degrees of Aries, the nation of Russia operated as a free-market economy, more or less along the lines of the capitalist west.

In Iran & the Islamic Republic of Iran

During the 1917 conjunction of Saturn and Neptune at 5 degrees of imperial Leo, Britain became the dominant foreign power in Iran. Due to British control of transport and supply lines, Iran was in the midst of a famine, worsened by World War I. Mass starvation and disease plagued the country.

At the 1952 – 1953  conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in late Libra, western powers became angered by the takeover of the oil supply by an Iranian leader.

The American CIA toppled the existing Iranian government amidst massive protests in which hundreds died. The US and Britain colluded to bolster the constitutional monarchical rule of the Shah of Iran by removing a competing Iranian leader.

The 1989 conjunction of Saturn and Neptune at 10, 11, and 12 degrees of  Capricorn saw the Islamic cleric Ayatollah Ali Khameini come to power in Iran in elections engineered by an alliance of leftists and Islamics.

Khameini ascended to rulership of the nation in June of 1989 in the very midst of the retrograde conjunction of Saturn and Neptune at 11 degrees of Capricorn.

In 2026 with the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 0 degrees Aries, the Ayatollah Ali Khameini was assassinated by combined US and Israeli air attacks.

Khameini had ruled brutally and tyrannically for an exact and entire Saturn-Neptune cycle of 36 years. The Iranian military capability in 2026 was destroyed shortly after the exact Saturn-Neptune conjunction in aggressive Aries, due to the Islamic regime’s insistence on developing robust nuclear weaponry.

Summary

This cursory but suggestive study shows that the Saturn-Neptune conjunctions in two countries appear to be linked to the formation and implementation of sociopolitical systems of thought and practice. Recent conjunctions of Saturn and Neptune have correlated to the following developments.

  • 1917 Russia abolishes feudalism and establishes socialistic Communism.
  • 1917 Iran is crushed by foreign intervention.

  • 1952 – 1953 Russian government is forced to adapt its most severe socialist policies.

  • 1952 – 1953 Western powers arrange regime change in Iran.

  • 1989 USSR dissolves, breaks into independent republics, and discards Communist economic model.

  • 1989 Ayatollah Ali Khameini rises to power in Iran, establishing a strict Islamic theocracy.

  • 2026 Russia operates on a largely free market capitalistic economy.

The Islamic Regime is rejected by the people of Iran in massive street demonstrations in 2026. Tens of thousands of citizens are slaughtered.

Ayatollah Ali Khameini is assassinated by American and Israeli forces. The Islamic Regime is in a state of collapse financially, militarily, and politically.

Broken down to an even simpler statement, the process went like this.

  • 1917 Communism rises in Russia.

  • 1952 – 1953 Communism in Russia shows signs of failing.

  • 1989 Communism in USSR collapses.

  • 2026 Russia is a free market economy.

  • 1917 Iran is overtaken by a western power.

  • 1952 – 1953 Western powers arrange regime change in Iran.

  • 1989 - A strict Islamic theocracy is installed in Iran.

  • 2026 -  The Iranian people formally reject the Islamic Regime.

Under the sequence of recent Saturn-Neptune conjunctions, Russia tried strict socialist Communism as a model for governance and economic functioning and found it hopelessly lacking.

Under the sequence of recent Saturn-Neptune conjunctions, Iran tried two models, the monarchic and the theocratic. By 2026, it had firmly rejected the theocratic.

Conclusion

It would appear that nations and would-be rulers come upon ideas about governance and economic functioning with the tides of the Saturn-Neptune cycle.

Neptune stands for the ideals that drive humanity’s dreams, while Saturn makes real, solid, and tangible the dreams captured under Neptune.

Russia dreamed of abolishing poverty and injustice through Communism, a dream destroyed by the realities of human motivation and drive. Iran dreamed of its own tradition, and then imagined that a coalition of leftists and Islamic scholars could hold it aloft, an imaginative moment which proved tragically unrealistic.

The Saturn-Neptune cycle bears much more research and contemplation, but this brief study serves to hint that this cycle translates rather directly into the major steps taken by humanity in its quest for self-understanding."
